Hiking Up a Volcano to Find the World's BEST Strawberries!

today is going to be a unique first because we are going to hike to the top of a volcano what's very unique about this area is something with the nutrients in the soil surrounding this volcano also makes it an ideal place for people to grow strawberries now we have seen countless strawberry farms on our way up this mountain and by the end of this video we are going to try the strawberries that come from this area which are supposed to be big plump juicy and according to the internet the greatest strawberries on the face of the planet so this video is going to feature a volcano and us all trying the world's greatest strawberries I can't wait probably the highest and coldest elevation we've ever been at in Costa Rica Mario you look like the kind of guy who is probably a big fan of Strawberry Shortcake the cartoon when you were a little kid nope never seen it really really tried strawberry shortcake the cartoon nope never seen it Doug was my cartoon this is it the volcano Vulcan Mario you look like you're dressed nice and warm yeah it's surprisingly chilly up here unfortunately though I don't know it's what we ate last night may not be sitting well uh-oh you might have to uh I might have my own volcano in my stomach Trent yeah I also look like you're ready to go I am yeah stomach's feeling a little rough too so hopefully we have a bathroom up here definitely left my jacket at home it's kind of cold hey we found the bathroom good news for these boys who clearly chose the wrong thing at dinner last night supposedly it's a pretty simple hike and we're going to be going up into the Crater Rim in case Mario it gets cold I got him a sloth hat let's see how it looks really good it's nice and warm there you go now you got a b-rad hat all right there you go thanks buddy I'm gonna wear it the entire time though it's it's pretty comfortable isn't it yeah I tried it on it's the right size for your head Mario and I pretty much have the same size head pharts pretty easy hiking see we're walking on a paved Road not as adventurous as I thought the start to the hike was going to be but we'll see where it takes us you're in a high volcanic Hazard on restricted access Danger it really feels like we are walking through a cloud right now there are these big gusts of mist they keep coming down and hitting us from the tree canopy it feels like we are in the Pacific Northwest of the United States right now even though we are in Central America we're coming up on the Crater Rim I guess yeah it was like five minute hike it's out there somewhere you can smell the sulfur behold the volcano yeah maybe we could just like superimpose like a little volcano Emoji here at this point post-production yeah it's uh just white just a pure sea of white there's a volcano somewhere underneath there but there's nothing wait this isn't what the inside of all volcanoes look like ah no I don't think so I mean we literally can see absolutely nothing off the edge of this Cliff here we're gonna take an official picture yeah I want to get the official picture that we saw online when we looked this volcano up of a guy doing a selfie of himself we're gonna right now put a side by side of the picture that inspired us to come here and I'm gonna try to get that shot myself I'm going to recreate it first with just the GoPro and then I'm gonna do one on my phone [Music] imagine if we had to hike this imagine we would had to hike like 4 000 feet up like Mario's gonna have to do in the Galapagos and this is what we saw we'd be we'd be very like bummed out instead here we are just when you thought it couldn't get any more epic we found out there's a higher view all right boys after you okay let's get it hey the sun's coming out oh danger hike all the way to the top of the volcano they said there it is same for you okay it's a little bit higher well on a clear day it looks like this but today it's just a cloud well in good news uh the sloth hat has worked I feel as warm and cuddly as a sloth now let's see if the strawberries are as good as the Spokane watch this I'm going to dissolve this shot right into a bloom to White and then we'll be at the strawberries Okay so we each are going to evaluate the strawberries and give it a rating my rating system is based on 10 oks 10 being the best [Music] my official rating based on all the strawberries I've ever tasted in my life okay okay okay okay okay okay okay five out of ten okay try okay let's get into this first of all they're very red they're very red I'm kind of with Mario so let me explain it it's kind of mushy a little bit I like the strawberry to kind of have a crunch and then explode like a fruit gusher I don't know it is Sweet It Is Savory the flavor is good I'm gonna give the flavor an 8 out of 10 but the texture is just not my vibe I don't know do you look a little slimy thank you you are the pickiest with food so I have to ask him I'm with you some are a little mushier than others some are a little tarp for this stop I'm gonna give it a 4 out of 10. let's find some more strawberries okay we found a better strawberry spot more off the beaten path this out fresh strawberries these ones seem legit we're gonna need to get an entire thing of strawberries here and these the true taste tests these look crispy like these look like they have some Crystal Dome I think maybe the ones were just like soaking in the juices too long or something these look like they were just freshly plucked so got high expectations for this one I feel like we have now found the right strawberries the strawberries that we read about the strawberries that are of Legend presentation wise this is what I'm expecting from a strawberry so unlike the other ones these are firm and they're not slimy I did not like the slimy nature of those other strawberries without further Ado let's try the strawberry [Music] okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay okay wow oh an eight out of ten eight out of ten yeah buddy all right tread your turn to review the world's greatest strawberries I could tell from Mario's first bite there was a good crunch Mario said color looks good these are way uh thicker than the other ones there we go [Music] perfect amount of crunch excellent flavor there's just a 50 50 balance between the tartness and the sweetness and it just makes this cacophony of flavor in your mouth yeah oh man let's just go for another one ah maybe one more oh man it's like candy I suppose it won't hurt if I do one more [Music] done easy we should have it all this way essentially an invisible volcano but we really came for the strawberries the world's greatest strawberry like you said this is the presentation that I did expect you got the beautiful green tops the bright vibrant red bottoms seeds looking plump I'm gonna try to find the absolute most iconic strawberry in the group oh this one looks perfect exactly as I had hoped and dreamed here we go first bite wow [Music] holy jimoli now that is what you expect Strawberry Shortcake eat your heart out it doesn't get much better than this mm-hmm you know I think I might just eat the tops too some people eat green stuff on top good fiber um hands down best strawberry I've ever had I'm giving it an 11 out of 10. and I think we need to sit here and eat all of these strawberries right now got the strawberries we're gonna sit here and finish them but these are So Fresh So Delicious no insecticides I can almost taste the volcano in them I'm gonna give it one more okay you wanna know what that okay is for for being out here with you guys eating these strawberries the experience of it yeah how am I gonna get that experience again well until you come back we had to come all the way to Costa Rica we had to drive nearly two hours to the top of a volcano we didn't get to see but finding these strawberries made this Vlog about as good as it gets so thank you guys for watching
