welcome to Northern Island this is the town of Port Rush it's famous for its Lynx golf course which is just over there near the sand Junes behind me is the Atlantic where the cliffs meet the ocean uh if you keep heading further north you will hit the outer hdes further on you will hit the Pharaoh Islands and then further further on you will hit Iceland so quite a big vast expansive water famous for its sea life whales Dolphins you name it it's here so going to leave the the ruggy coast behind and head through Port rush along I'll be making my way Inland and then on the coast so a nice varied route should be good weather is great and I'm feeling good so let's stop wasting time time talking and head to Port rush it was only a short walk back into town the place was alive with noise and with all the miles i' be doing I looked at the nearest cafe I got myself an olster fry a traditional Northern Irish Breakfast 10 out of 10 I left the station that I arrived at behind and took the coastal Road next was Royal Port Rush one of the most famous and challenging golf courses in the world I got a great view of the golf course in the town in the distance I was able to get some fast miles in on the coastal Road I filled my lungs with a Fresh Ocean Breeze it felt amazing I watched the fisherman for a while while trying to catch his lunch hopefully he caught something so all the way out there is mainland Scotland right over there in the distance I came across a castle dating back to the 1500s there was plenty of them in noan Island D New Castle was once owned by Winston Churchill himself the coastal Trail would bring me through lots of villages and towns along the way I thought my eyes were going bad at first but they weren't I actually think the ruls were supposed to be like that I stopped on the sand dunes for a snack I took in the view and relax for a while just taking a rest on the sandunes and got myself some fresh milk it's actually made on the causeway coast probably somewhere down there so why not oh yeah that is so fresh it's really Breezy so I'm going to put my sun hoodie on soon it's just nice to rust my legs a bit but I'm heading down that way I'm about 2 mil away from the Giants Causeway Monument kind of thing and there is no worry about this should be really busy but it isn't so I am not complaining I've had some great weather today I've just come from there oh it's amazing day one oh yeah I put a layer on and continued along the wooden walking boards an Old Railway line made for a nice change of pace I step from track to track as far as it went on the birds were chirping and the flower blossom filled the [Applause] air the Giant's Causeway was right around the corner I passed the hotel and Museum and headed straight for the causeway Legend has it that a giant named Finn MCU created a Causeway to get across the Irish sea to face his rival a Scottish giant some people say it was natural geology that formed the causeway but I prefer to believe it was the giant it's way cooler that way and like everything you got to touch it right these were some of the most amazing shapes I'd seen in nature they didn't look real I took it all in and made sure I was in the moment now I realize why it's such an attraction what a great view that must have been I left the Giant's Causeway behind happy I got to experience it the trail headed up the cliffs so I got ready for an incline the grass was vibrant green probably because of all the rain this place place has unusually it was a dry day the last few steps awaited and I was close to the top the farmer Fields stretch for miles and miles across the rolling Countryside [Applause] I got a nice view of the Giants Crossway from a being careful not to slip the Sheep we doing sheep things I always have time for sheep they're harmless and they're actually pretty funny to watch the trail huged the farmer's fences Meandering around the coastline I was pretty high up and I got a glimpse of the causeway Cliffs a boat was on its way back to shore probably after a good day fishing the light had started to fade so I was on the lookout for a camp a farmer's field was looking like the best option either that or it was the cliffs before anything I'd get all my gear ready for bed then I can eat and drink I had a great day the Giant's Causeway really didn't disappoint I watched the sun setting through the tent I woke to the bird singing and the Fresh Ocean Breeze hitting the side of the [Music] tent I set off with a spring on my step the coast always gives me this great feeling take a look at this place I'm not sure how you even get down there but wow looks so peaceful it reminds me of Norway or somewhere in the alter hdes the sun was out and the sky was blue it was the perfect start to the day the trail took me across Open Fields and along the shore oh all the way in the distance over there is the lone house on the beach just about it is where I came from not bad for about an hour an hour walk but I'm just making my way on this little Cliff there's lots of little inlets like this ideal for a swim but it's only early so maybe later I'll go for one the cave made for a great shortcut through the cliffs I got myself a coffee and I enjoyed it while on the go I tried not to spill any of it while climbing over the rocks that would have been a nightmare you can't be Beach walking especially when it's a pristine one like this there's something about the ocean that's good for your health I just feel healthier being close to it the novan Irish Coast was beautiful there was hardly a SW to be seen to I said goodbye to the beach and pushed on South up the [Applause] coast I crossed a really cool rope Bridge onto a small island none of this was possible without the guy in front I forgot his name but he recognized me so shout out to him honestly fish on here he even show me around the place not many visitors get to see it like this too long so they decid throw up a bridge be a bit quicker work the site he to well and there was a woman and children that worked here as well the children were through Stones off of the Sal the last time they done it so 2002 last time wow yeah apparently the same po of dolphins are known to swim around the whole of Island which I was mind blown by I hope hope I'd get to see them while I was here shortly after I was close to a town called B castle I'm just taking a rest on a bit of Coastline now I've just come out of a town called Bal Castle it's about a mile down there and I've stocked up on food it's the first stop it's already 300 p.m. so yeah it's just nice to put my pack down and get out of the sun it's finally gone in it's just been on my NE all day but I can't complain I suppose so I've got a good amount of calories here and I will eat them right now this looks like a meal of Champions I cannot wait just left the trail behind which I was supposed to follow and right now it's taking me around the Coast Road them go in Inland somewhere a few miles back there actually it was at B castle and I think I just I feel like exploring so going to take the coast this way right now there's a little track but soon I'm pretty sure it'll run out so yeah let's uh let's go explore the further I headed up the coast the more rugged it became this is exactly what I was [Applause] needing I came across a small island so I went to check it out just take a look at this I've just come up on this Little Rock Island kind of thing and it's just bright red and that does not look good healthy either blood or like red tide or something that is not normal so I don't want to get anywhere near this just in case so yeah that's so strange so cloudy and red I don't know how the the water or the tide even gets up here weird very weird it would have been nice to Camp here this is was like I'm pretty sure this was used for I don't know fisherman maybe but I've just come up the coast just a few miles just over that way which is quite busy and then now it's pristine co sign uh I think I may go there and try to look for a flat spot to camp what a place so right here is the high tide Mark probably in winter so it comes up it's pretty high you'll always find a football as good as new that's actually quite a good football too no way I found a small rock pool to have a wash in it felt so good I cooled off with the perfect view that felt great just to get in that water it was so cold it was nice after being in the sun all day and it's still out now even not to put this on it's just a cover my neck up okay so there's some flat ground back over there where I came from I just uh it's been up there but it's really Rocky and steep so probably a noo and it is quite buggy so it's looking like there somewhere there we'll be fine there's a nice breeze got the the sunet which should be nice so let's find a camp that swim and a sun bath was just the most relaxed I felt in a good while so glad it came this way it proves that going for your own adventure rather than sticking to the path a lot of time it just works out way better so so happy I did it so just to remember it to remember Northern Island I'm going to take back a little Pebble cuz that was just great white one has got to be isn't it right here is looking like the perfect campsite there's already a campfire so yeah this will do right there is where I can put my tent but because I've got so many little Pebbles of places of bean they're all mixed up and there's some charcoal here so I can write norn Island on it so at least when I get home I know that which Pebble this is I couldn't have picked a better spot to sleep I watched the sunset feeling super content the Sun Fresh Air and exercise are the perfect recipe for a good night's sleep pretty sure that is a seal right there I packed up in the morning to find a huge bug on my pack while brushing my teeth I was looking out to see and spotted something so just there is I'm pretty sure it's a seal just sitting in the shallow water feeding at first I didn't have a clue what it was but so it tail is actually towards me and it's fing out can't believe it that's the first time I've seen a seal up close in the UK anyway I had one last look at camp and I couldn't believe I even found this place I reached the town again and set off towards the hills I got myself some fresh blue Brees and a great tasting coffee not a bad start to the day it was nice to be in the forest surrounded by the smell of trees I spotted a donkey with its kid I don't see many donkeys on my travs this weather is amazing woo by far the hottest day so far in no an island I'm just coming through some forest and logging land oh man the sun is beating down put my sun hoodie on so if it gets a bit too hot I can put my hood up my body's telling me to get in any bit of shade I see but on the other hand I'm telling myself if it was the other way around then it was really shady and cold I'll be wanting this so I'm trying not to be ungrateful but any bit of shade I do get I am in it it's way too [Applause] hot so made my way out of the town and I'll be going over the the hills now over in the hill is where I'd be heading I really hope there isn't a volcano we don't know about in noan Island this sure look like one while in the Hills I came across what looked like pea cutting a fuel they use all over the UK and Ireland the Rolling Hills had some amazing views up here it wasn't long before they would make way for a decline into Into The Valleys to get down quicker I decided to run for a while it took the weight off the bottoms of my feet which felt great I was close to a village so I went to explore I was so hungry I looked for a place to eat the burger and chips went down like a treat I don't have a clue what that is is it a bird or is it like a mouse or a rat hello I don't have a clue they can probably see me as well ah hopefully it's all [Applause] right there is a it's an abandoned churchyard really old going back hundreds and hundreds of years and I was actually planning on camping there but no no thank you just in case so there's this little route and I'm just scratching my legs left right in center but I think it goes down to the beach or the Rocks so this might be the perfect place because it's still quite busy there's actually a path going like there and I had a couple people behind me so it's frequently used so down here should be the better option because nobody's coming down here hopefully I eventually got down onto the Pebble Beach and set up my tent the scratches and bruises were all worth it man am I glad to be in this tent it has been terrain wide it's been quite easy but just from the first few miles my bottom of my feet were killing me so yeah there's been a lot of road walking trail walking which it's tough on your feet but glad to be in here now so I've just had the burger which was absolutely amazing usually I try to eat whatever's local like a local dish but my body was craving just some meat and fat lots of carbs so burger and chips it was it was so nice H I feel great after it but got myself some milk and for like the local delicacy they do this all over Island but soda Falls think it's like type of soda bread uh I don't know if it's local to Northern Island but I'm pretty sure it will be so I'm going to try that that's my supper just trying to get the calories in not a bad view for for camp tonight just got on the beach so yeah uh it's been a tough one on the feet but overall not too bad for I was up bright and early thankful not to get washed away by the [Applause] Sea over in the distance is where I'd be walking for the [Applause] day country lanes would take me into quiet Villages along the way [Applause] Gaelic football was popular all over irand and there was so many murals just like this I'd stop often for a break whenever I could the hills eventually run out until I was near the coast again so finally got off the coastal road which was it's been a nightmare I'm not going to lie just bikers and it's really loud and busy so I've come slightly Inland and probably got about 10 15 miles left until the end point it's uh it's a little town or a village so it was just good to be away from the loud Coastal Road it was way more peaceful up here eventually though I made it to the end point Breezy coastal town called Carlock shortly after a couple offered me a hitchhike towards Belfast which I gladly accepted they offered to show me around on a guided tour of the city there was one last thing I wanted to do while I was in Northern Island I got a ticket to the Titanic Museum from the beginning I watch the ship the key blocks they curv the second of April [Music] wow welcome to Belfast I didn't expect to be saying that so quick it was uh very strange day so the plan was to keep walking camp tonight and then hopefully make my way to Belfast tomorrow or the day after but I've managed to book a fight for tomorrow afternoon so weirdly these just two of the nicest people I've ever met asked if I needed a a hitchhike just to Nish town I said yeah just the nearest town 10 miles up and he said well we're going to uh Belfast anyway hop in and we'll show you around so I just got like the best guided tour by the locals shout out to them they were the nicest people ever wow got so lucky and I thought what a way to end it and uh finish at the the Titanic Museum exactly where it was built I think I'm pretty sure it was either here or over there when I'm yellow things are what a day what a time this is where the Titanic was built I just been in the museum had a look around I thought I have to do it while I was here I think it's the most when you come to Belfast but wow noran island has been amazing like brilliant the causeway Coast was just magical absolutely magical amazing weather it's it's about 18° C what a time I've had what a time but um I should probably get like a Guinness and I don't know no I'm going to end it here I think I'm going to end it here yeah no Island thank you but I mean this is probably the best place ever to end anything this is where the Titanic was built Northern island has been oh this world [Applause]
