all right next up we have priest and uh priest historically has been you know associated with resurrecting things and also raising Undead so priests uh in this expansion are aligned with the scourge and have Undead related stuff like this Shadow word undeath so deal two damage to All Enemies if a friendly Undead died after last turn deal two more so a couple of important things here uh one is a shadow spell so this could potentially be used in a deck that is looking to Shadow form um with the uh um bad Benedictus um and uh importantly that is actually something that those style of decks have generally lacked one of the things when I have been playing uh various forms of Shadow priest that uh frequently has been an issue um is actually dealing with larger boards right anything like mischievous imps out of imp decks would be a real problem you know you'd have tools uh in the form of the needle um or you know with uh wrathlich King in the pool something like uh spirit lash however you wouldn't really be able to deal with things that were three health or higher you'd be good at dealing one or two damage but three or four was a real problem if they you know went wide on you and this is a card that can help actually do that this just combined with uh the needle by itself is able to wipe a board of Threes this with an undead can wipe a board of fours uh you know with undeptical Board of fives so that's actually one of the things about this particular card that is most compelling to me is that it gives a like mid-range Shadow priest style deck a way to actually deal with larger boards and that I think is is an extremely extremely big deal for that kind of archetype which obviously isn't the major player in the metagame right now um but I think it does have potential I've explored a lot of those style of decks and this can be a really important component of them okay we have bone collar it's a uh a four cost two four with taunt death rattle resurrect a friendly Undead that died this game so uh crucially not itself Undead so you can't chain or anything like that it could obviously be another but this wants to go into you know a a deck that has obviously Undead can be used in a number of ways this can be you know a sort of you know follow-up to an early Undead curve this can be a card you play in a deck that has a bunch of large Undead it gives you a way to bring those back additionally and potentially protect your boards from uh you know just AOE when you're trying to bring back multiple things with say Amulet of undying doesn't really necessarily stand out as being something that is hugely hugely powerful but we'll have to see how sort of the the undead in the uh the pool really line up speaking of death rattles mind eater this is a two cost three two death throttle add a copy of a card in your opponent's deck to your hand so this is a potential card for say a thief uh Shadow priest or just Thief priest um also Thief Undead or just Undead in general looking for some value cards um I you know I've obviously messed around a lot with various forms of thief priests um this is the sort of card that can be you know I think pretty solid in these also the fact that it is a a death rattle can lead you more down the line of being able to play with zarella um you know one of the really big the really really big big issues with a lot of sort of like mid-ranges type decks is whether they can actually meaningfully use the hero card in their class any any deck that's like looking to play a longer game that doesn't have access to the hero card is losing out on like long-term value by not getting you know either the sort of like big burst of value from the Battle Cry like zarella or like just having a weaker hero power than potential opponents who might have a hero cards um so you know this giving you another card that both can be a okay Tempo play at least um but also can lean into giving you value from zarella or from amulet or something later in the game as well as potentially working with the undead synergies from like Shadowood Undead can also be a really big deal except we have grave digging uh forecast Shadow spell draw two cards costs one at a friendly Undead diet after your last turn one of the big things that a lot of priest decks struggle with is card draw uh card draw you know historically has not been a strength of priest outside of big big Northshire cleric wild powermaster type combos you have lots of card creation but very little in the form of draw and this is the sort of thing that a aggressive style of Shadow priest deck or even like a mid-range style of Undead deck would definitely definitely want so this is a really big payoff right a one cough draw two it's a shadow card so it can definitely go into your uh you know your shot up reset obviously and obviously wants you to lean on having a higher density of Undead minions in your deck and overall you know it just feels like a pretty strong card also the fact that it does fill that hole of hey this is a a card draw effect for priests that they typically don't have is a really big deal and and also like one of the things that a lot of the the shadow Decks that I have played they don't necessarily they don't necessarily want to play that many Shadow spells but a they need to they they want to have Shadow spells to draw with say twilight uh deceptor or you know to enable uh the five slipper and this is just one that assuming you have a reasonable amount of of Undead in your deck you can include and it's just a good card right so obviously it can it can skew the specific minion masks that you play but it is a pretty big incentive to you know play an undead heavy uh uh priest deck as well so this is a super cool card so sister Undead with Battle Cry permanently added visions of Darkness to your hand so visions of darkness is a three cost Shadow Visions but not really Shadow Visions it's just discover a spell it you know obviously like it is only the sort of thing that is good if you're planning on playing a long game but no it is attached to an a you know non-terrible body obviously pairs very well with radiant Elemental uh so if you get like multiple radian Elementals and you're like boom discover discover discover pretty sweet I don't know if it's necessarily even that good um because obviously you know just sort of spending a bunch of Mana each turn discover and cast new spells you know is that is that the sort of thing that in this world of you know dinathris is and and you know other huge swings is is you know the sort of thing that can actually win you the game unclear but it's certainly cool I love I love grindy value engines probably more than the next guy all right next up we have Crystal Smith cultist speaking of uh cards for aggro shadow priest uh in particular that care about that payoff of having Shadow spells boom a potential uh one cost two three so you know very very strong Tempo card you know even with the increased power of a lot of minions we have seen one cost two three with no drawback uh is a really big deal and you know just play enough Shadow spells and you actually have a pretty strong aggressive uh aggressive option to go alongside your Void touch uh attendance and such so this is just a really really strong card that may be you know one of the key things alongside stuff like grave digging that can sort of revitalize aggro Shadow priest they said we have haunting nightmare so this is a really interesting card speaking of grindy value cards they three cost three three Undead death metal haunt a card in your hand when you play at summon a33 Soldier so with things like the bone collar it could resurrect Undead and this guy who's on that haunting nightmare you can just have a bunch of things that will just give you more things um yeah your your bone collar bringing back your haunting nightmare which then haunts something and brings back you know a thing which when you play you get a soldier it's pretty cool um as again as to whether like that kind of of like incremental grindy value has the potential to actually be good unclear but it's definitely sweet and you know the the endless 33s it was bigger than that you know maybe if it was a 4-4 and didn't die to like every AOE spell maybe certainly combined well with this though undying allies after you plan on did this turn give it Reborn so a lot of Undead have death throttles or similar sorts of effects when you be playing a degiving reborn undying allies with say the card we just saw right giving this guy Reborn boom now you have multiple instances of a death throttle so you you know this is a zero cost spell to Shadow spell so it can also go into said Shadow Undead deck this is a lot like a you know a soul to force for no Mana right you're getting Undead you're getting reborn and all these Undead obviously only works with Undead but being able to have you know additional instances of all of the Minions that you play if you're playing a really Undead heavy deck especially when they have you know lots of them have death battles seems pretty powerful right this gives you pretty powerful ability to just continue to create a sticky board and alongside things like this high cultist basileth I'll cry it resurrects all friendly Undead that died after your last turn so this is if your board got cleared your opponent's turn or you know you you attack and trade stuff off here boom let's get all these Undead back so that's a lot right like that that has the potential to just like give you like a massive massive board um worth noting that it does not work in combination with this because this is play undying allies when you play an undead not when you summon Undead so you can't like bring back a bunch of them with this but it could give you the ability to get multiple instances of them let's say you know you have reborn thanks to undying eyes and your opponent's turn they kill them and then you trade off the remaining ones you get multiple copies by playing this because the ones that died in your opponent's turn and your turn all died after your last turn so they would all get resurrected by this so you know this is I think a really cool you know way to to get potentially significant value off of all these and again lots of these Undead have deathrattle effects some of those death throttle effects may be things that immediately spawn minions some of those death metal effects may be things like The Haunting nightmare which can then just mean you have additional things your opponent needs to kill in the future so I think there's a lot of cool stuff with uh with you know the various Undead synergies and then also this animate dead or restrict a friendly minion that costs three or less you know this is obviously most of the resurrect priests things that we have seen have been hey this is something which you know you want to continue to bring back gigantic things but with this and with you know the various Undead synergies lots of things that you can you can bring back kind of medium-sized or small things that can give you the ability to kind of get this incremental value get this pressure this works very well with the scourge rager the 5-4 reborn with battlecry die resurrect boom now I have a 5-4 with reborn because it resurrects it as its original form and still has the reborn and doesn't have the Battle Cry Kaboom got him yeah this can you know you could potentially use this to get a cheap brand right you play a brand Tempo brand and turning three your opponent kills it it's like all right animate my brand play stuff use my brand Kaboom it is random certainly I believe so just as a friendly menu doesn't say discover or anything like that so uh you know yes this doesn't necessarily hit the thing you want but maybe you're playing a deck that only has a particular minion at three or less maybe you're just sort of ramping up with your haunting nightmares or whatever you're trying to play eight million haunting nightmares and and it's the only thing that costs three or less who knows but I think there's a lot of really cool things uh to explore there's there's not like any like immediately obvious like yes this is exactly how all these pieces fit together um but a lot of cool support for shadow priests which is something that I I have definitely enjoyed exploring since the evil Benedictus has existed um and you know also just the sort of various Undead synergies and also the intersection of those synergies that I am certainly interested in trying out so thumbs up on priest I'm gonna enjoy it all right next up we have Rogue uh starting out with some uh some cool deathrunnel stuff Scourge Illusionist so a forecast 4-4 with death throttle add a 4-4 copy of a death pedal manager hand uh it costs four less so a couple of crucial things one this works with sketchy information so sketchy information uh give you the death throttle of a forecast or less death metal minion in your deck boom uh so sketch your information into this if this is your you know you say you have two copies of this as your only uh death pedals in your deck so this can give you say a eight cost definitely for four you know a a 10 cost death metal for six you know it gives you a pretty interesting way to you know ramp up two big death battle Rogue which is something that I have definitely really enjoyed playing with smoke screen so default Rogue is probably the the version of Rogue that I have really enjoyed the most recently if only because uh it feels like the the thief Rogue decks uh kind of end up being denaturist X2 and I really dislike that but regardless um this is you know I think a really really powerful card for those uh you know big death Rogue decks uh that can give them a lot more play to them rather than just sort of hoping that you you know hit uh you hit your uh your smoke screen and blow your opponent out next up we have rotten rodent a two cost two one Undead Beast look at that double creature type oh yeah with Battle Cry reduce the cost of all death metal cards in your deck by one this is an interesting uh interesting fact uh and obviously in Rogue uh has the potential to use this with say shadow step so yeah you can just boom reduce the cost by a lot which can also you know potentially enable you to get other things off of sketchy information the fact that it specifically reduces the cost of minions in your deck does mean that you can have say play one of this then play sketchy information on turn three and hit say burning blade acolyte I have probably defended the demon seed more than anyone else in the world and uh being able to do that have rotten Road into just having a turn three five eight and my opponent will never get the demon seed beautiful and so we have vile Apothecary uh so concoctions so there's a variety of different concoctions that uh have relatively minor effects but can combine together to have both their effects on the same three cost spell but this is a three cost two fourth and your turn add a random concoction to your hand uh pretty you know you know pretty solid value effect if it isn't removed immediately you're gonna get one then you're gonna get more um getting multiple concoctions off of this can be really powerful because yeah you can just continue to generate additional value things my concern with concoctions just generally as sort of a they are clearly a pretty big mechanic for uh the class as you see another here potion Master puter side another thing can generate them after a minion dies at a concoction your hand a two cost one four my concern is like they don't necessarily actually push you in a direction and they're pretty expensive right like the the the the the uh concoctions being three costs always means that you know they aren't like lackeys where you were getting like a lot of like incremental value for cheap off of them they are something which is going to take up a pretty high percentage of your turn pretty much no matter what turn it is you know and you have a lot of ways to get them here's another way concocter another way to get just a a random concoction in here your hand and then you know another boom discover two concoctions the potion belt these are all like kind of doing you know little things that aren't that powerful you're spending a lot of of resources it's been a lot of mana and cards in your deck and you're getting like reasonably efficient things but none of them seem like they're like you know the sort of thing that actually wins you the game I didn't mean to jump to this but here we have boom ghostly strike haha yellow damage draw a card obviously something for those uh humble out decks but let's get back to concoctions because concoctions yeah they they seem like they're they're sort of like hey I'm gonna play concoctions in my rogue deck and it's like okay well then what right like it feels like most of the Rogue Decks that exist right now and that you know have historically been successful tend to be things that you know are pretty focused right like Rogue isn't the sort of the sort of class that has bunch of like healing or armor gain or taunts or anything so having sort of a core mechanic and core like strategy that largely just sort of pushed to being like incremental value things because that's pretty much what the shoes are right like like yeah you you put them together and they're like giving you like something which is reasonably you know reasonably powerful and it's like giving you some amount of value because you keep generating them off these things okay but then what right and and the question really is like what do you pair the concoction package with to actually make a deck and it feels like you know a lot of the the sort of types of decks that Rogue can effectively build right now are pretty siled in terms of the sort of things they want like none of them feel like they just want this incremental value package because they all have pretty key stuff whether it's the secrets alongside wide you know the thief cards whether it's like you know just the cheap card draw and you know Ultra cheap spells for the combo decks you know looking to play like the graveyard and Andraka and things like that um whether it's death Ronald Rogue we have to see the new cards like I you know the the package for concoctions feels like it takes up a lot of space and I just don't know what you pair it with that's actually going to be effective compared to the rest of the sort of packages that Rogue already has that's really where I'm at with concoctions so yeah I don't know it feels it feels like it's in a a strange space to me in that it doesn't necessarily feel like it has a home and it feels a little bit out of place in Rogue simply because of the general Rogue play style that it typically the class typically has speaking of other sort of weird weird cards shadow of demise just a shadow spell that doesn't actually do anything by itself but when you cast spell this transforms into copy of it this feels like it's the sort of thing that's likely you know to go in maybe kind of any any road deck like this is actually just a really neat card um this definitely has a lot of flexibility in terms of hey this can be a bonus copy of Shadow step this could be a bonus copy of Contraband stash you know this could be a bonus copy of wicked stab you know I think it's just a pretty neat card it feels like it goes into most Rogue decks probably it's I don't think it seems like it's wildly overpowered or anything but I think it's a pretty interesting card in general so pretty sweet um yeah it could be an extra jackpot it can be an extra whatever and that's cool so I like this card quite a bit I do think this one's going to see a lot of play maybe it goes in your concoction deck too but the question is what the rest of the cards are but yeah we saw most of that look another concoction card cool shock Miss reaction cost zero but but then what then what yeah I'm probably the least bullish on concoctions of like any of sort of the sub themes that we've seen so far even like you know the random random Mage stuff feels a little bit more compelling to me than than concoctions because they just they just don't feel at home and Rogue to me but regardless noxious infiltrator our last card in Rogue because most of the rest of the cards are concoction or the other stuff a forecast 25 poisonous the friendly Undead died after your last turn deal one damage to a minion this is fine you know like I don't really see there being very much you know Undead type stuff in Rogue but this is obviously a pretty powerful effect right like if you have you know if this is in any deck it's very much like a you know that can easily enable it it's just a assassinate attached to a 2-5 that still leaves behind a poisonous body right it's it's very vile spine like except you know instead of this being something you need to combo this needs to be something that you're actually playing with Undead maybe there's like an aggro rogue deck out there with Undead right like maybe there's like a decent number of like Undead Pirates or something I don't I haven't really looked through the full list of what is and is not Undead but this is a you know a if you have the ability to enable it this is an extremely efficient card so you know whether there's like enough of a sort of like aggro Undead package for rogue to look to for support of this is really the the determining Factor as to whether this does see any reasonable amount of play anyway that's Rogue so as I said I you know I'm very skeptical of concoctions that just they just feel they're neat to me but they just don't feel like the sort of thing that Rogue has great tools to to Really uh make use of I feel like they have a lot of other directions the class is pulled uh and that concoctions feels more like a supportive thing doesn't really feel like it is enough on its own to be like something that actually wins you the game in the way the the state of the game is these days and it feels like you I don't know what else you end up really playing with it when all of the other packages feel like they're pretty substantial uh and concoctions requires a lot of cards on top of that so I don't know maybe I'll be proven wrong concoction is definitely a seem neat and I'd love them to see play but as of now uh I am uh I'm a little down at concoctions and uh mostly excited to mess around with death rattle Rogue because that's where my heart is all right next up we have Shaman and one of the big themes it seems for Shaman is Undead we have a uh start off with three cost three two unliving Champion if a friendly Undead died after your last turn summoned two three two zombies itself is a 3-2 Undead obviously uh you know how reasonable this is uh as a threat uh is contingent on the number of early game uh Undead that you can can actually play um and you know how good those are Shaman has uh you know like a decent number of ways to actually support having sticky minions and a bunch of bodies in play uh bloodlust is is obviously the most notable and common example um but it is an undead like common bloodlust deck uh you know with a bunch of sticky minions does uh with support like this that you know hey you know you're getting a bunch of uh of of stuff for killing my stuff uh feel like it has you know at least some potential if they're sufficient other support but there are a lot of other things that are supported uh rather than just like the you know sort of aggro-ish stuff like this fellow it isn't Undead but it's certainly an aggro undead it cost three eight with taunt lifesteal reborn and death rattles uh with dl3 damage to a random enemy this is a kind of a bizarre card um it does have a life seal so the fact that you know this comes down um you know they you probably have to attack through an eight health minion and then it death rattles and does three damage to something and gives you that life back and then Reborns and then they have to attack through your lifesteal union and then get the death rattle of deal three damage back um so kind of a crazy card obviously can be you know you're probably can go over it pretty handily but it is a a big brick wall right here um that you know any deck that's trying to actually get through uh with minions is going to potentially struggle with pretty heavily next up we have death Weaver Aura a uh two cost Shadow spell give a Minion death metal summon two three two zombies with overload of one um so again you know a number of uh of sticky death throttle minion type stuff this is you know something that that can give you a lot of word presence you know for for very cheap obviously two Mana to effectively get two three twos and not just two three two sort of way but the death throttle of two three twos um is you know pretty powerful um in terms of being able to have those sticky minions um and there are some pretty sweet ways to uh really supplement this like this guy Scourge troll this guy is really sweet uh a one cost one three so not super easy for a lot of decks to kill but death throttle is given to this minion trigger twice so if you turn one scourgeful turn to uh play that two costs make two three twos when it dies this will die and make four three twos on your one drop so obviously potentially very vulnerable to silence effects um good thing for any deck that's looking to do this that uh starfish got nerfed but in certain matchups this can be extremely extremely extremely powerful and other matchups like against priest with Shard or you know anyone in South effects can be very very sad um but you know does feel uh feel like it can be you know very easy to run away with a game if you have the ability to you know buff this guy with a couple of death rattles and your opponent can't actually silence it uh next up we have prescience so this is a a big Shaman card forecast draw two minions for each that cost five or more summon a 2-3 spirit with taunt um so I like this card a lot um one of the big things that a lot of Shaman decks can struggle with is card draw we have seen a number of you know ways that that Shaman has gotten card draw through things like famished fool but that's obviously something that requires you to have a bunch of minions um you know the only the only card draw we've really we've really seen has been supported by minions dying or playing murlocs in in Shaman really and this being able to draw your big stuff as well as give you a board I think is is pretty sweet um you know obviously this isn't even just like you have to play all five or more you can still be playing it at the same place Bran or bull nerd combine with with you know big stuff if you so choose but you know you do get a significant payoff of your forecast spell potentially just giving you you know a feral Spirits without overload if your deck is just big onions when you play this so certainly pretty sweet right there it's also a shadow spell so if you if you are playing you know say multicaster in your Shaman deck that you're then drawing with this and not getting a guy it can be that much more powerful uh next up from the other side another Shadow spell 10 cost so many copy of each man in your hand they attack random enemy minions then die so this is pretty clearly like just a a card for a big Shaman archetype that allows you to you know have a bunch of big stuff that yeah your opponent doesn't just get to you know remove individually and then while you're out of stuff it's giving you copies of a lot of gigantic things and if they have death throttles like say the lifesteal death rattle guy with reborn or whatever um you know that you can get a bunch of sticky minions with this uh that will will actually you know help potentially swing the game and not just be an immediate attack uh there's also this guy Overlord drakaru pretty much the the peak of big Shaman minions a nine cost six eight with rush and wind Fury after this attacks and kills a minion resurrected on your side um so obviously this from the other side being able to get you you know a a like not just hey this guy comes in and kills uh kills things but also steals it and you get to take it on your side as well and you still have this in your hand so pretty pretty sweet right there um obviously just by itself this can be you know play this eat your guy eat your guy get two guys boom I don't believe this has to uh survive the attack either so you know this could attack into like a small thing and then attack into a large thing along with say something else that that like you know whittled it down a little bit and boom you get some sort of huge thing on your side as well so obviously you know the the sort of big question becomes like hey what is the rest of support for this what are the other minions in the deck look like but I think from the other side that guy and the uh the eight drop with a million keywords Are all uh pretty solid beginning to that style of deck next we have hearkener of dread this is a five cost tutu Undead with taunt and death battle so many six six Undead with taunt uh so it's kind of interesting one obviously this you know could be something that you're hey you're you're throwing this off uh your uh from the other side you're getting boom six six haunt out of the deal from whatever you're actually hitting because hey death rattles I'm in a big thing um there aren't really that many like great ways for Shaman to like immediately um activate death metals of things not like a hedge maze or that kind of thing but you know this is only a 2-2 body on the front but this could potentially be something that maybe you're building you know your big Shaman deck is a mass reveler deck right this guy off of maths reveler extremely powerful the you know life feel death throttle reborn guy pretty powerful off Mass reveler you know the the win Fury guy who steals it when he attacks probably less powerful off Master leveler but overall probably a uh still a a you know reasonable uh inclusion in the deck when you just have so many other Good Hits next up we have Rott Gill Undead murloc three six for five give your other minions death rattle give your minions plus one plus one so this is an interesting one because you know this this can be used um alongside say schooling right you can you can play like this and like schooling your guys play this guy attack all your Rush minions and buff the guys who are already in play and you know get a huge swing um it can also help like just if you just have a board that as like like just totems right this alone with your four totems you can attack with your searing totem and then your your other totems can can buff each other and it and uh yeah I think it's just like a pretty powerful card you could also obviously it's a murloc right so it can go into you know the sort of either actual murloc decks uh or just you know the Decks that happen to include a couple of murlocs uh because of uh gorlock ravager and clownfish and this this off of a clownfish right this off of a clownfish or a brand clownfish or whatever extremely powerful right being able to play this you know for cheap at the end of your murloc curve uh can really get you out of range of a lot of aoes can just be extremely extremely powerful I think this is one of the the stronger Shaman cards we have seen and I expected to see quite a bit of play and lastly battle suffusion three cost Shadow spell give your minions death battle deal three demonstrate random enemy so this is an interesting one because you know this can be you know hey I have a board full of stuff all right I'm gonna play this and you know my board full of stuff is just gonna potentially you know you oh you clear my board boom nuke you right um obviously this is you know a pretty uh low impact thing immediately if your opponent is not actually going to clear your board off it's not going to really do very much but like you know one of the things that that I always wanted when I was finally say totem Shaman right was another thing that wasn't just bloodlust to do when I just had a lot of stuff because I had a lot of stuff a lot and you know this it's like okay well I have a bunch of of small totems all right I will you know or whatever and it's like I'll play this and now you know all of a sudden like you you nuke my board before I bloodlust you and you still take a ton of damage obviously a difficult card to play in a meta game that has a lot of AOE silences um or like transform effects like primordial wave or whatever uh same thing is true obviously of any of these things that are giving your guys death throttle and give you you know something that's like hey I'm trying to blah blast you to death so this okay you know like I play this on my board if you don't blood left me great you don't clear my board great I love this you kill you if you do clear this board great you you basically took a bloodless worth of damage so yeah I think it's definitely an interesting card for any kind of deck that's looking to really go wide and there's a lot of Shaman Decks that want to do just that
