[Music] so we measure Happiness by basically asking people how happy do you feel how satisfied are you with your life and those studies are being conducted by the United Nations the oecd asking thousands and thousands of people across the [Music] world so last year we did a study where we tried to explore why does Denmark always do well in these rankings so what we found in the study was that you know being satisfied with your social relations are probably one of the best best predictors that tells us whether you are happy or [Music] not when you ask Dan do you feel that most people can be trusted three out of four for Dell yes you can trust most people and that's why you'll see uh you know parents leaving their kids outside the cafes going inside to have a cup of coffee and leaving their their most precious belongings outside well we distinguish between different dimensions of Happiness we look at what is called the effective happiness which is sort of more mood what kind of mood what kind of feelings do you experience in your everyday life and then we also look at a what we call called the cognitive dimension of Happiness which is sort of a an evaluation of your life how satisfied are you with your life [Music] overall so we experience a an increasing interest from cities National governments but also International institutions such as uh the United Nations and the oecd in happiness studies and the reason for that is we need we want new indicators that tells us whether Society is actually moving in the right direction one thing is whether we are getting richer and our economy is growing and that's important too but what we also want to find out is whether people's lives are actually improving are we are we satisfied with our with our lives and are we happy that's what we want to find [Music] out
