[Music] [Music] oh [Music] I oh [Music] [Music] what's up ship Builders today we're building the unc's Pelican Drop ship from the HALO Series which I think is the perfect ship for starfields Vanguard quest line and as you just saw an extremely powerful ship in its own right too so let's jump in to start you see I'm using the pinch 8A reactor this thing has 36 power points which is a little bit less than the max 40 but it has a huge whole value at over 1,900 points which is why I went with that on the weapons front we're using six Vanguard Hellfire Auto cannons and six uh Vanguard obliterator Auto projectors given this is meant to be a Vanguard ship I thought it made sense to use both of these weapons plus you know they also are extremely powerful in their own right I'll typically use the obliterator particle beams uh on the enemy's shields uh as they do quite a bit of damage and they've got a high firing rate but the Hellfire autoc cannons even being ballistic weapons also do a decent amount of shields uh where they really Excel is once once the enemy Shields are depleted and they just decimate the enemy's hole and lastly I've got four of the c59 U missile launchers these things do a ton of damage they take a long time to reload um but can really change the tide in a battle so it's not my typical all particle beams uh load out but it's a bit more of a role playing type of a load out and it's just a lot of fun to play with so that's why I chose these weapons and I think they fit the Vanguard roleplay uh a bit better next are the engines I've got four SAE 560s if you've watched my video on the best engines in the game these ones actually perform best uh all around in terms of thrust to mass and maneuvering thrust to mass and so four of these Slaton engines um gives me just a really good all-around fighter with room for a decent amount of cargo too next is The Shield you'll see I'm using the assurance SG 1800 Shield this has the highest uh Shield health in the game at600 which is why I went with it um you could go with the Vanguard bull workor Shield to go with the Vanguard theme here and save quite a bit of mass give you room for a bit more cargo I chose this one just cuz I like The Shield health but it's really up to you and finally the grab drive if you've watched any of my pre prior videos you'll know the way I pick a grab Drive is just to find the one that's the lowest mass that gives me at least 28 light years of jump r range so this one accomplishes that uh and slots in uh with it attachment points nicely so let's see how all these pieces fit together now I'm going to do this one layer at a time and just highlight each piece um as we go along feel free to pause the video uh if you're wondering what a specific piece is um the nose of this ship was a little bit challenging to get right um I kind of want to be able to mount a weapon underneath the nose but couldn't quite get a piece that I thought fit the look and let me mount a weapon so I had to forgo that and you'll notice I'm using a lot of different landing gear from that pinpoint 3G to the acul Lander to the ng20 to the Hope 6 just to fit the overall look but also get enough Landing thrust um across the whole ship to to support the mass which is why I used all those different landing gear for the bridge you'll see I've got this Commander 500 Bridge from H Tech this is the version of this bridge from H Tech that has the most cargo so you can get a lot of cargo from your cockpit or your bridge but you have to go to that specific vendor's showroom uh or ship technician to get it so you have to go to H tech for that specific Bridge otherwise you could use a lesser version it'll look the exact same you just won't get quite as much cargo out of it um the other thing you'll notice is I'm using a lot of these Nova wings um to kind of fill out the space of the ship but also cuz they provide a weapon Mount so fitting all 16 of these different weapons on the ship was kind of a challenge the six hellfires the six obliterators and then the the missiles um the other thing is these stoud noses you'll see also have um a weapon mount on the sides of them which is kind of nice which is also why I went with those so fitting the weapons on was was actually kind of a a different challenge uh for this build and as far as Habs go obviously choose you know whatever Habs you want the most um I like to have at least four crew members on my ship um plus a workshop if I'm going to carry some cargo and so I'll usually go with those and the other thing I'm going to show you here is these little equipment plates that the uh missile launchers have to to sit on that's how they attach to those stoud pieces so you have to make make sure that you can you can find some of those the configuration of these Habs does actually I mean obviously you'll have a ladder but it you should have just one single ladder from The Landing Bay all the way up to the docker uh which is kind of nice you won't have multiple ladders to deal with um and then you know obviously for cargo you can mix and match put around however much cargo you want I tried to keep my total mass such that my Mobility was still 100 so for these engines for the Slayton engines I think you got to be below 1797 somewhere in there uh total mass for these um but obviously that's a personal choice and then these tyo nose pieces um I think fit the nice shape of the wing of the Pelican along with these damos uh pieces on the back um but it was a bit tricky figuring out just how to get all these things to mount together uh just like the Pelican was with a vanilla build and so I think these Wings accomplish it nicely um but you're kind of mixing and matching different vendor ship parts to get that to work um and again if you noticed it there those missiles that sit on the engines have an equipment plate Mount on them too just to get those to fit so so now we're starting to get the outline you'll see I've got an Armory up top CU I figured we need an Armory for a ship when we're role playing the Vanguard um and then these pieces kind of fit out the rest of the shape of the front half of the ship having that pinch 8A reactor on the back doesn't give you very many mounting options on the back and so we are really forced to tie everything back to the hab on the top so you'll notice see this damos belly the grab Drive they're all actually attached to what I've got this Captain's Quarters here and that's really the one connection Point holding the back of our ship together just because we've sandwiched the reactor right into the middle now I've got some shielded Cargo in case you want to haul some Contraband and then just one fuel tank on the other side we really don't need that much fuel to jump from one side of the galaxy to the other because I've got a maxed uh astrodynamics skill if you put S Morgan on your crew um you'll have even more uh distance that you can jump with less fuel as well so and then a little bit more cargo which actually I think fits the shape of the kind of the rear tail of the ship uh plus adds a lot of cargo I think I've got a thousand cargo with this piece um and the Nova callings on the back which have two weapon mounts on the top they actually have two on the bottom too if you wanted to put some additional weapons on the bottom um so again more weapon slots which is nice and then to round out the back again a couple slate nines and you'll notice on the sides here I just added a couple little Nova thrusters um those each take up one Mass you wouldn't have to have those they're pretty small but I felt like they completed the look uh of the ship just that much better and then lastly on the back I did put on this shielded cargo hold cuz I felt like it has a nice shape it's a really in it's the most inefficient cargo piece in the game um so you don't have to use that one but I feel like just the overall shape fit the the shape of the Pelican nicely and that's it other than uh a nice green paint Scheme or the blue and orange of the Vanguard enjoy flying this one it's a lot of fun and until next time keep building
