we have a bit of an obsession around here with euros those delicious Greek sandwiches stuffed inside pita bread and we found some good places for them like so in downtown Boston the feisty Greek in Norwood and farm grill in Newton and now we can add a new place to the list take slow-cooked meats Pato and some super fresh veggies and place it all on a hot fluffy PITA close your eyes and take a bite they take their bite and they go wow that's how you know you've arrived at euro city located on Peterborough Street euro City is a new addition to Boston's Fenway neighborhood and while this sandwich shop may be small it cranks out hundreds and hundreds of authentic Greek euros like they do it back in the old country yeah you know shop in Greece is like a Dunkin Donuts here they're all over the place owners polly bose paul christopher and paris skarlatos are the Greek gods behind all of this goodness this is my partner Paris say I beerus i I didn't also talking and along with their families these guys are taking the best of Greek Street food to the masses the only thing they ask in return is that customers say the name of their shop correctly in hero city not gyro I lost track people fifty to a hundred times a day from gyro to you know no matter how you pronounce it you simply gotta try it each one of these signature sandwiches starts on a spit seasoned and stacked by Paris's father Nick an expert with so much experience he's earned the nickname Nicky gyros Nicky gyro making the you know it's a name of stuck it was a joke at first now everyone's starting to call me you like that nickname lineup he hates it secretly but my mutiny all right and once all of that juicy meat has taken a spin for a few hours it's sliced with a loud but efficient tool this is like a super crazy high-tech pizza slicer see the blade there and then it it just shaves it real thin the meat is piled onto ultra fluffy and always warm pita bread it holds everything in it doesn't fall apart it's not like the your traditional thin pita pocket it's a thick pita bread when you grill it up a little bit gets like so warm from there the combinations are endless there's a traditional view dough bursting with creamy tzatziki sauce veggies french fries and perfectly seasoned pork not lamb its pork not lamb everyone thinks it's lamb for some reason I think it's a Greek racial stereotype that we lamb with everything but it's not lamb with pork so everybody knows go to Greece skinny you know pork and then there's this version filled with super tender shaved chicken no one's got a chicken you know like this the fries are cheek and disgust tomato everything is amazing you can also order meat off the grill like the chicken souvlaki and traditional lu conical sausage and the greek version of a burger called beef tacky beef sekiz Greek burger by a typical bland just meat on a bun it's got a lot of flavor to it a lot of different spices that go with the top was - Zeki tomatoes onions and fries this is a way to get that famous fast food combo all in one but you get burger fries but you're out for two together in one probably not if you prefer your fries on the side they have those - served Greek style of course it's Greek cheesy fries special creation that we made here pretty simple its fries with feta cheese and fresh oregano and again it's the combination of federal regular on the fries is so different than you find anywhere else other add-ons include the traditional hoary optic ease salad and the more Americanized version that's ironically known as Greek salad clusters flaky spanakopita and authentic AB dilemma no soup featuring a lemony broth spiked with chicken and rice that's always prepared by Paul's dad I make the best getting Gavrilov on a soup anyway this is grandmother's recipe the best and all of that family participation continues right through dessert because Paul's mom buy head makes the baklava hey you know the best popular vine box we go through 2:00 p.m. today please this is real Greek food prepared by a real Greek family so you know you know city is the real deal I've had plenty of students Greek kids adults say hey this is the best you know they've ever had including Greece and B how come no one's ever done this before it's amazing that took this long for an authentic Greek you know they go which is a euro shop to show up in the States and that's why you should eat here
