GSX 600 Odyssey VS 800 2Stroke (How It Was Built+Race)

[Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign all right so we're uh buildsnot projects we built this odyssey it's got a suzuki 600 it's a 94. so it started out as a no suspension like early 80s late 70s honda odyssey 250 the fl 250 it got a little bit out of hand it was like 90 percent rust and nothing really worked all the wheels were bent all the steering stuff was bent it wasn't really worth keeping it that way so you just gave it the good old chop and then it looks like you built it uh modeled after a 350 was that intentional um it didn't start out intentional it started out with the old cage still on it and everything and then the front suspension was so terrible i had to change that and then it slowly kind of progressed into looking more like a 350 but still got a solid axle in the back with a swingarm setup instead of independent and what parts of odyssey are left um there's about three feet of frame rail and the steering column a couple of tie rod ends and uh steering wheel that's i think that's pretty much it so when i got the bike i paid 500 bucks for it my original plan was to ride it but i was living at my parents house my mom told me i couldn't have a street bike after i brought it home but she let me keep it told me i couldn't ride it so i turned it into something else that wasn't a street bike anymore the front brakes off the bike are actually mounted on the rear on the one of the jack shafts about 12 inches of travel total on the rear i could probably have gotten closer to two feet of travel with the shock setup that's on it but couldn't run it with the chain so it's pretty loud [Music] so for the first time we have another odyssey to play with so we're gonna mess around in the yard have some fun um let them get used to the track do some track times and see who's got it faster and then it's time to hit all the jumps and have all the fun and break everything break everything [Music] me [Applause] [Music] it's so sexy and two of them together [Music] yeah so we did a few warm-up laps together it's fun to rip spencer knows the track a little bit better now so he's going to try and set a time we'll give him a few laps to set it and if he beats my previous time then i'll have to go and try to beat that [Music] [Applause] [Music] so didn't sound like it but it was yeah that was 29.4 so he's sub 30 now that's about as fast as i've done it in cindy so the gsx odyssey has done a small tabletop before and that's it so this will really be the first time we properly tested on something huge but first just going to do the hill climb get the feel for it and then do the time jump so this will be pretty sick [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] oh well so i broke it i broke the rear jack shaft clean in half kind of an issue rebuild it stronger yeah that's how we do it yeah so well this is a perfect opportunity opportunity to weigh it because uh it's kind of hard to roll right now the brakes are getting all pinched so we'll pick it up with a skid steer and set it on the trailer perfect let's see what we got here how much does our odyssey weigh was what was it like 760 pounds or something yeah somewhere in that ballpark what's your best guess uh i'm gonna guess like probably 870. all right it's pretty heavy let's see what we got so my guess is uh 918 pounds that might be a bit high [Music] [Applause] hundred three hundred four seven ninety eight twenty eight 828. eight 8 31. that's only 40 pounds high it's not man yeah [Music] well this is how all good days come to an end at ethan's house but if you want to see him build this thing builds not projects on youtube and when they get it painted and fixed up we'll send it again well we never really saw it at full drop today it looks pretty good at full drop i know it has a ton yeah it's as much drop as it does travel up that'll be great in the dunes yeah [Music]
