while ago and i'm actually going to pull up that video because i really liked that version that we did and so here is the song that we sang a couple months ago that i really enjoyed that we can sing and self-control all right now friends we had a great craft today mrs gabriel has put together something excellent and awesome so join in and uh it'll be great if you want to follow the instructions with miss gabriela and today i have prepared a wonderful craft just for us the materials for today are white cardstock i'll be using scissors we'll be using mr glue stick we're going to be using markers and we're going to be using assorted colors of construction paper as always i would like to ask are you ready for this then let's start [Music] we're going to be drawing a large coat and this is called um this is the icon for joseph's story okay the character that we'll be exploring today um and learning from so let's make a drawing of the code and i would like you to think about in in shapes okay and don't worry it does not have to be perfect okay and now we're now that we have traced it we're going to be cutting it okay okay so now we have our shape we have cut the coat and we're going to start coloring it so we're going to be using think of it in patches or you know shapes triangles squares rectangles right with patterns okay so in order to make our lives a little bit easier in terms of how to go about this project if you're not familiar with the story i just added lines all over you know in a way that looks aesthetically pleasant to me and then you know think of it you know this is a rectangle this uh rectangle in in you know in a vertical way and then a kind of like a triangle so add your shapes and now we're going to start filling in the spaces with different colors and patterns so here's our coat of many colors and now we're going to be using some of the construction paper to make buttons if you like here along the coat here in the in the middle of the coat um you can make them in any shape you like and then we're gonna add glue and then paste them on here okay so i have added the construction paper buttons and i liked mine with different shapes and now we have joseph's coat congratulations look at what we have created together joseph's coat so now you have something very bright and bold to show to your family and friends i'm excited for you to keep learning about this story further along with mr jeremy as always i would like to remind you that you are deeply loved my friends [Music] us [Music] welcome back welcome back so excited to have you here it's gonna be great so friends this is gonna be so lovely now um for this story uh we've got a really great addition to our great family so we had sarah we've had jacob we've had abraham we've had all these characters that we've learned about and now it's one of my favorite maybe it's because there's an andrew lloyd webber musical written about this person or maybe because he has a coat of many colors who knows but i do love this story so it starts off like this the great family grew now jacob had 12 sons jacob's favorite son was joseph now to show his love jacob gave joseph a coat of many colors now this made joseph's brothers hate him now one night joseph had a dream and his brothers were working in a field gathering wheat suddenly joseph's bundle rose up and all of his brothers bowed down before his joseph told his brothers the stream and they hated him even more they wondered if joseph would rule over them joseph had another dream and in this dream the sun moon and 11 stars bowed down before him joseph told his father and brothers about this dream and they all got really angry now it sounded not that it sounded like not only his brothers but also jacob and his wife would bow down before joseph now one day when the brothers were far away in the field with the flocks jacob sent joseph to see how they were doing joseph went to them and when his brother saw him coming they decided to kill him but the oldest brother reuben convinced them not to instead they took away his coat and put him into a pit soon a caravan of traitors came past the brothers sold joseph to the traitors for 20 pieces of silver they took joseph's coat and dipped it in the blood of a goat and brought their coat to the father they told jacob that a wild beast had killed joseph and jacob wept joseph instead was taken to egypt and sold as a slave a captain of pharaoh's army named potiphar purchased potiphar's wife had joseph sent to jail but joseph remained close to god and god close to him now some of the pharaoh's servants were in jail with joseph they had dreams and joseph told them what they meant and when the pharaoh's servants were released they found that the pharaoh had dreamed many dreams that no one understood one of them told pharaoh about joseph and pharaoh called for him the pharaoh's dream had two parts first there were seven fat cows and seven skinny cows the thin towns the thin cows ate the fat ones and then he dreamed that there were seven fat and good ears of corn and seven sick and thin ones the thin ones swallowed up the good ones joseph told the pharaoh that his dreams meant that there would be seven good years followed by seven bad years he told pharaoh that this was a warning to save up grain during the good years so that there would be food for the people if you jumped in the bad years pharaoh agreed and put joseph in charge of gathering and saving the grain joseph was now 30 years old the lands near egypt had also had bad years the people from the lands near egypt came to joseph to beg for food jacob sent 10 of his sons into egypt to get the food and when his brothers came to egypt they bowed down before joseph they didn't recognize him but joseph knew who they were he kept one of the brothers with him and gave him and gave others grain and told them to go home then all of them came back this time joseph said god sent me before you to preserve life joseph and his family spent the rest of their days in egypt when jacob died joseph took him home and buried him in the land of their fathers then joseph and his brothers after he told them who he was returned to egypt where years later their children would become slaves because the new pharaoh forgot all that joseph did i wonder what part of the story you liked best i wonder what part of the story was the most important i wonder what part was about you or her what part were you in i wonder if we could leave any part of the story out and still have all we need interesting so friends this was such a delight to get to tell you the story today i am so glad to be here with you so i'm going to give you your benediction and send you on your way the lord bless you
