Day 47 after making the self watering planter The vegetables that were planted first are growing well so far I harvested every week. So far I did this five times for the green onion and four times for the lettuce Each time I cut the leaves of the lettuce, the stem grew longer I wanted to collect seeds from the carrots but it seems it needs more time to grow the flowers The tomatoes had a dramatic growth after I moved them to a bigger pot I'm now waiting for the flowers to bear fruit 3 weeks ago I did my groceries since I ran out of fresh fruit and vegetables I normally threw away the roots but this time I chose to plant them instead I plant 3 green onions (not normal onions) because I use them a lot for cooking I bought lettuce with roots last time This time I bought the ones without the roots. Will it be able to grow roots? I am also trying to grow the roots of the cabbage. I only leave the core of the cabbage I cut and leave only the bottom of the celery attach toothpicks and submerge in water Only one green onion grew new roots Although I changed the water every morning, one of them became rotten so I took it away The other one did grow roots, but also became rotten A small leaf popped up on the lettuce and started growing, looking like rabbit ears Something did come up on the celery very slightly, but it didn't grow any further so I gave up For the cabbage, I thought new leaves will grow from the middle, but they actually started growing from the side and eventually grew many leaves and roots 3 out of 7 survived. Today I plan to plant them in self watering planters Water to our apartment was to be cut for a short while, so I bought a lot of water (but it was never cut) They were only taking up space, so I'm drinking them to clear them That's why I have many empty bottles these days Taking advice from the comment on the previous video, I made an upgraded version of the self watering planter Cut the bottle as to have 4:6 ratio with a longer bottom part Make a hole through the lid and put in a clean wet wipe Fill it up with topsoil, and plant the vegetables Fill the bottle with water to the point where the the soil does not touch the water I originally had 6 vegetables by the window I now have 3 additional vegetable family members Since I planted them in soil, they started growing much faster than before when they were in water The new green onion grew enough for harvest The lettuce has grown a lot in a week and the leaves of the cabbage are growing well Plants have such amazing vitality that it is both a joy and a surprise to watch them grow Another thing that grew a lot is Hodu's hair Since we still can't go out, I gave Hodu a hair cut myself I'm a bit more confident because this is my second time I tried to groom Hodu's back, but my customer refused Compared to the work of the professional grooming shop, I still need a lot of skill improvement (I felt sorry and gave Hodu some treats..)
