Grinding Grain. Making Chop for Cows!!

[Music] um hey everyone how's it going well we're gonna crush some chop today so we started the mx120 and it's gonna we're gonna get it out of the front of the shop anyway so uh we've got our our chop crusher our owatona uh grinder feed mixer hammer mill in the shop because you don't want to get any moisture in them because they freeze they freeze up so easy so i'll just give you a little run down here right sean right laurie so it's empty right now uh yeah on this thing here if you get any kind of moisture like snow or rain whatever and it goes down here it goes straight into the auger and freezes it right solid right in here too so we always keep this thing inside i don't keep it in the shop but we put it in the shop because i didn't want to take it back to my place to put it in that shop it's actually not a shop it's a shed but uh i needed it in here i have to change two hydraulic hoses plus [Music] this here is what i've been having trouble with lately so i ordered uh 10 new belts and i tried to get a banded belt on here but you cannot get one in these 3xl or whatever these are smaller than a with belts so um i had to order them all the way from quebec montreal and uh the guy at the place where we ordered them from john deere was motion and they actually said these belts are not made for heavy-duty pulling um and i and i know that but i'm assuming that's why they put so many i'm still too short because i'm broke well actually sean took them off because they kept flipping but this is the problem they keep flipping so what i think uh and i had them you gotta have them guitar string tight on here and when they flip they get loose so i'll see if sean we can loosen these up and flip them back and tighten them again but that's the problem i have once they flip they don't they don't bite into the sheave anymore to the pulley so it's garbage i hate it that's the one thing i hate about it that's what this thing uses uh these little small belts they had them on here too for the hay crusher square bale crusher used to have a big uh big chain driven uh square bale deal there i took it off but uh one two three four five six six little small belts to run this crusher in here basically that's all that this is is a uh [Music] a rotor with uh sickle knives on it not crushed up the hay anywho [Applause] so i just took the belt the tightener off shawn's going to tighten it back up now and we flipped the belts over and i added those two old ones keep going keep going keep going tight let's do my wrench now i want these super tight i don't know what these it seems like the tighter the better so they don't flip over but it's just a really dumb setup to have that many small tiny belts like that i i tried to get abandoned belt but there's no nothing available like that you'd have to change pulleys and uh it should have at least b width belt probably like man four or four of those would be locked be with even a with so it seems like they got looser huh there got it all tightened back up now they're pretty tight but i know they're gonna flip again so we'll see when we hook her back up lift it up lift her up lift her up good [Music] so so so this is our uh p screenings when i was combining peas and i cleaned it with a quickly so got all the split peas out the small peas and the barley and the chaff so it's making pretty good feed we got another two tanks in here 20 bushels in that side all right so there's about a whole tank in here then probably one more yet so so well i came back just in time they got it right full so we're going to put it in the chop bin which is this little bin right here back up sean [Music] okay now we just fired up and uh i suppose i gotta pull this back my belt stayed tight a couple flipped but what are you gonna do [Music] they changed there's a chop so you've got crushed peas crushed barley good i think i'll speed it up a little bit hey barney do you want chop where are you going sean those guys want chop eh these guys want some trough all right so who wants chop say moo [Music] okay [Music] well you really like to chop right you just go crazy for that okay you guys so you guys could go to this one don't be mad so yeah that's a crushing pea and barley chop we never actually crushed pea chop before uh just mainly barley uh wheat and actually we thrown some oats in there too so uh so yeah that's uh that's crush and chop so i hope you like the video make sure you subscribe and click like yeah click like for the video and uh we'll talk to you all later [Music] you
