hi I'm Chad the guy that grows Greenhouse Citrus in the middle of winter well now it's 100° outside today let's see how it looks right now in the heat follow me well you've all been asking for weeks and months and a long time how does our Citrus and everything do when it's 100° well let's first take a look at the compost out here that mulches the green houses and see how it looks and how hot it is as we dig down into the wood chips we notice a pleasant surprise it is not sweltering hot it is actually cool and it's turning into compost and there's earthworms down in here look at the beautiful compost we could grow crops on this mountain side of our green house that insulates it things like mushrooms melons and cucumbers our entire Farm here in Syracuse is under wood chips it's beyond Back to Eden because we are not only using wood chips for the Farms but we're using them in greenh houses permaculture in greenh houses as we step inside this greenhouse holy cow look at the size of the trees keep in mind it's 100 de outside and the trees the doughnut peaches and the Citrus are thriving here's a big beautiful blood orange tree what's really fascinating is it's actually cooler in this greenhouse than it is outside The Mulch on the sides of the greenhouse actually has a cooling effect which is really cool what would you grow in a greenhouse like this what kind of Tropicals are your favorite many of you have moved from California to Western States and you'd like some of this in your backyard to remind you of home well here it is a Tropical Oasis really a pleasant surprise that it's not very hot inside here compared to what it is outside I bet you like some strawberries year round in this greenhouse take a look at the strawberries with the drip irrigation tube growing across and down beneath tomatoes growing in the water gutters that we have built take a look at how huge these trees are over 12T tall loaded with doughnut peaches they going to be ripe in about a week maybe two still Citrus on the trees and tons and tons of new baby green citruses that we will show you in future videos but right now dut peaches are the game and take a look at this beautiful one is ripe
