Why do I feel like there's gonna be a bunch of butthurt fans in this thread who can't take a joke?
blink-182 is great, Green Day is great, this is nothing.
Okay I wasn’t expecting this post to explode with these comments lol, my personal opinion is I love them both the same. I heard personally that it was just a joke with Tre about GD’s and Blink’s rivalry but I personally think Green Day is a better band and has had more success in the last decade or so.
Green Day are musically better than Blink. I do love blink but Green Day are better.
Probably because they had to open for them on Pop Disaster despite being much better performers and live musicians. I know Blink was more popular at the time tho, so don’t hit me with that fact.
Edit: also blink was pretty well known for the WMAA video which they did take their pants off in.
Green day is far superior than blink in every aspect (except maybe Tre vs Travis)... I love Blink to death and prefer them but to even imply that GD is less successful than blink is delusional
It's very strange that he would say that bc on the "She" breakdown during most shows Green Day did in '94 (including Lollapalooza NYC and Woodstock) Billy Joe would pull out his junk more than 50% of the time. It got to the point where his junk was the only mans penis I had seen more than the occasional Ron Jeremy movie.
There was never a rivalry, watch Riding Around in Vans with Boys or even the MTV behind the music of pop disaster and you can tell they all get along and are cool with one another, they just come from different places and backgrounds and aren't necessarily best friends or anything, but no hate for one another. Some people (no one in this sub necessarily, just people I've come across) act like this is some Biggie vs Tupac type beef where both bands fucking hate each other, which is absolutely absurd. As for Tre, that dude is just a weird mother fucker and he was dicking around talking shit because that's what he does, but it was light hearted and he does that to EVERYONE. He's a weird punk drummer from the bay area, you don't get much weirder than him. Hell, Mark and Tom have said worse things to one another than anything any member of Green Day ever said about blink. Both bands fucking rule for different reasons and ill love em both till i die
