hello my name is Eric green I'm interviewing my great-grandmother those they don't know what you know a great-grandmother yes that's my mother's mother mother so since 93 years old she's 93 years old and I'm going to ask you a few questions for this history project so the first question I'm going to ask her is how was your life growing up in the early nineteen hundreds and you know how did you make it through your early childhood and what do you lastly remember when I was gone but I was telling us when I was going to school in which student country what time we had a look up to sue it's a one room just had a one room that's where I would school in our room schoolhouse and and we had fun my childhood was he was fun I was in the clutter we need help the stuff that y'all have now we know about what we have no radios and I feel like that no TV no radio what they we don't they receive a phone at night you know the kids will all get together we would always sit out and and you know like we were saying yeah we were x1w we would actually learn on the words you know like we put name a word we said what beast are we what what do be stubborn when they start with stuff like that you know Anna and and it would be we have a big Osaka peanut we have peanuts II know I'm wrong about no he cannot take it as we had we went out in the woods and get Gregory set to hit the net and then we would have a hammer and we were correct ahead picking up two new hitter up here what we would pick up this it's a good it would have you caught out of it that's what we do that's a that's what we missed a we did that that's what I did at home Lee's at home and then we were read books and we had a fireplace and we'd sit up with baked potatoes in the fireplace had we put our sweet potatoes of it hit the fireplace and pick up baby our potatoes in the fireplace and sometimes we didn't bake them we would do we would peel sweet potatoes and we had a big oh I'd be the line stove a big old heater y'all know what I'm telling but the big iron either and he brought it with wood and we were / - but the feeling of sweet potato sandwich and slicing would slice him up and lay on top of the stove and cook them till they brown we would have fun on it ever even better and then in the morning time we couldn't leave the beds of the sunrise I did it and he could we look stayed a bit heated laughs I said to bear to the sunrise you said you'd lay the first area to the sunrise he's lazy and before I will go to school yeah I got a big enough lie go to school I had to count the milk before I went to lie to get everything and you want to need to leave at home relieving your you had to make up your bed you didn't even leave who believed that bed we had to get him clean up the house and I had to go milk the cows I had to clouds the milk my brother's never slop the Hogs and I can rip to cows when I've milked the cow and when I bring me in my mother would always strain the milk but I had 2,000 but before I go to school in the morning time and we had about we're about two miles of walking school I don't know what news about how funny we had to work it was something from here to fool town but anyway we had a long ways to walking school we had to leave early you know we always would camp we had a little bucket you know what I did I would ever yeah we would have my [ __ ] and say hey either did it help home food we didn't have sandwiches like y'all feels like ham sounds and stuff like that we would have a business in bacon and you know a bucket like this sometimes we would have a sound on Fridays on fire when we go to school we sometimes we would have ham sandwiches like that cuz you know we killed all except me you know you know our deadliest Achilles we ate our homes in kind of we didn't know what about me so my dad a kid we had beef we kept our beef you know hall and talked with the hogs and hogs and I did I used to tie you to chop climb to take on the deed sweet potatoes all of that I did all that and Tina we had to fill out people we raised we raised everything we ate just about it and we had and we raised peanuts and we had to go pull up the peanuts we pour the peanuts if we had to shake the drink out huh and you stir them on the wagon and then then that's we get all the crop on the peanuts pull it up and we have to brand my thumb on top of the house you know so they can dry and you know soon so the peanuts could dry and then we had to pick the fingers off the back and put them on the set so tell me we have a site that big fears and come time to get the car after the car dragon got in didn't have a wagon and we had to go pull car no we had to pull the corn off the stock and put it in the wagon how was your how was your life you know in school did you go to school with black kids oh no no no no we do you know what's gonna know know why can't we was gonna break he looks like it ain't no white kids know why can't had schools but we're bleeding we go never won any school any time no one else we used to plan about a school and they had buses Academy school but we had to walk the whites already had buses you know either des Plantes or take him to school oh we were getting sued sometimes being raining my daddy would character in the wedding yeah he get septum you to put it up to the wagon Akash the school yes sir we know murder I didn't know cars and nothing no buses what no buses they want to see you know and we used to play baseball it's do we have baseball play baseball girls and boys both face baseball it's scoot on the ground and basketball to the head bed but I've never deflated to God I didn't play you know -
