what's up everybody and welcome to the channel in today's video we're going to be doing a GoPro review so I recently bought the GoPro Hero 10 black as the hero 11s have come out I always like to buy the previous generation cameras just because it's a very economical way to get a fantastic camera with that said I'm replacing the Hero 7 black which has been a fantastic camera the last two years I really think a 7 and up you really can't go wrong so the Seven's not gonna really find them on the new market as of today but other than used Market they're selling for around 180 bucks I just sold my other one for 180 and Mike sold his as well for the same price and then this one should be sold on Friday so with that said we're going to compare the quality that the hero 10 block is going to give you versus the seven I think the 10 truly is a fantastic camera I'm really happy with the ones that I picked up and I'm excited to film more and more videos with the hero 10. so to start off let's go ahead and take a quick look at both of these cameras the hero 10 is a larger camera you're going to notice the 7 is sitting in a case this is the last gopher that comes in the case like this and then from eight and up you have these little pieces down here that pop out of the camera itself so you don't need this case anymore which I found is very usable I like that aspect so turning them on we have the button on this side for the hero 10 just tapping it this is how long it'll take you can see 10 come up and of course we have a front facing screen so tapping that once it'll turn on similar boot up time I would say you still get all the information you're going to need and then if we flip them around you can see they both of course have the touch screen and this screen is definitely bigger so I really like the footprint of the 10 it's just a little bit easier to navigate everything you can easily go through all of your different content and stuff like that pretty self-explanatory the way things work you can easily adjust all the different settings of course we have the hyper smooth ability we have 4K 5K even on the hero 10. you do have the super view you have all sorts of different ones you have from linear you have narrow going up into Super View and then for the stabilization we have up to standard high and even boost so standard on this camera is going to be pretty similar to on on this camera this camera pretty simple the way it's working pretty similar you just swipe up for your media you can tap this icon as well just to go into all of your main things and then the field of view you can see you have the link linear wide and then Super View so we are now on the GoPros we're going to start off with the hero 10 black we are just in 1080 60 on both of the cameras let's do just a quick audio test so this is the raw audio just the way the camera comes hero10 pretty normal GoPro audio as you expect cutting over to the hero 7. you can hear the same type of quality you guys can decipher for which one you think sounds better I do like to adjust the audio do a treble boost and then crank up the volume just a little bit so hearing this now on the Hero 7 with the treble boost and the audio up a little bit you can get a pretty good understanding of how the volume is going to the hero 10 with the same adjustments for the audio again I just like that I think it sounds a little bit more clear and crisp and it takes away some of the bass that you're going to notice in a GoPro so as far as audio I think the hero 10 just is a little bit better as you would expect as for stabilization so we're in on for the Hero 7 and we are in the normal one for the hero 10. let's do the Hero 7 I'm just gonna run straight towards the grass so just kind of running hand holding the camera you can get a pretty good understanding and then if we take the hero 10 and do the exact same test running towards the car you can get a pretty good understanding how just the normal stabilization is and then now on the hero 10 having the stabilization in boost doing the same run that I did on these seven it is probably even more stable running back to the car like I just did on normal you can see just how everything is insanely stable here on the 10 however the 7 is still pretty darn good now it's also worth mentioning how many front screen on this here 10 means I can really easily frame up my shots and show everything that I need to show on the seven it's of course a little bit more difficult however depending on how good you are with the GoPros it's not that bad so with that said let's move to coloring so today kind of an overcast cloudy day and we have some brown and green grass behind us you can get a pretty good understanding here on the 10 this is more of a yellowish brown grass right now and then you can see some of the green and then if we go over to the pool here to get a good idea of what all the water looks like the colors are pretty crisp you can see on the 10 still and everything and then coming up to the sky we get a little bit of sun poking through the clouds but you can get a pretty good understanding back to back on how these cameras are looking and going right back down to the darker ground into the mulch and then up to a car to see some gray contrast some darker areas within the car and even the interior we can just get a good understanding this is a dark red leather so you can kind of see how the colors all come together with both of these cameras side by side I will say the 10 is pretty darn good the colors really come together I think it does a good job with the contrast from low light to Bright Lights of course we don't have the sun today but I do have a full unbox of the hero 10. you can check that out in the description but even with the brighter background you can probably get a pretty good understanding of how I look on the 10 versus the seven so now looking at the cameras in a portrait kind of view maybe you're going to be using your GoPro to film a reel or a short or something I've been doing that a lot now with the hero 10. so I now have them both into linear that way you don't get that bubble effect especially when you're in this orientation so linear I think does a really good job just showcasing everything it's also worth mentioning these shortcuts you can have on the back side of the screen on the hero 10 make it much easier to go between the different views on the Hero 7 you have to go into it and then adjust it you have to do like three different clicks just to change the setting on the hero 10 you have a shortcut right there well with that said the stabilization still works really really good as we run you can see how everything is designed and set up and then going between all these different colors looking right looking left but yeah tent is definitely pretty good but like I said the seven you really can't go wrong if you're maybe not going crazy with what you're filming you want a good entry level budget camera find a good seven the eights you can still find on the used Market they are really really similar to a seven but that is the one for kind of like a phone screen type of camera angle definitely pretty good for both cameras so now on to Super view taking a look at the 10 right now you can get a pretty good idea of how wide the camera angle is and then over on the seven you can kind of see uh what you can see of course I can't see it because there's no front screen but of course both of them are pretty good moving back to the 10 let's go into a car you're gonna do like a POV review or something having this mounted on your head so take a look at both cameras right now side by side you can also get a pretty good understanding of what it looks like looking through a bright glass from a dark interior just of course with the lighting so seeing both camera angles side by side pretty good field of view and everything like that and if we just hop out of the car you can kind of get as I just walk around like normal how you can see things how everything comes into frame superview is a great option especially for filming uh this POV driving that's definitely a great way to go all right so now we're gonna do the linear with horizontal leveling turned on for the hero 10 so as you can see how the Hero 7 everything probably looks crooked on the hero 10 everything probably looks nice and straight and as you can see on the seven this is what I'm doing with the camera I'm going left and right but on the hero 10 you just don't see anything so it is pretty impressive how that is possible as I turn my body check out how the background changes and how I am changing between the two cameras really really cool I can imagine this is gonna be a sweet view on the hero 10 on my motorcycle going from turn to turn it's basically going to keep the Horizon nice and level so the bike will probably be turning from underneath the camera so very very cool option as I walk sideways I don't know how glitchy it is or not I've never really used it just yet but pretty cool if you are going to be angled or something like that it'll do a really good job just keeping things leveled you know even if you're walking camera is changing I'm staying nice and straight but really really cool way to do the cameras in case you are somehow wobbling or maybe you're on the car going around a turn you know the car's angling going back and forth you never know super super cool way to do it so here's just a quick test going from dark to light right into the bright Sky you can see how everything quickly adjusts or how it quickly doesn't adjust by just going between the two I think they'd both do a pretty good job now if we add me as a focal point in it going from that to having a bright background you kind of just get a pretty good understanding of how everything looks on each of the cameras so next test is driving in a noisy car going 45 miles an hour just to kind of hear how the audio built-in adjusts to hearing some background noises and again this is just the raw audio right now going from the hero 10 right now you can hear me talking on the hero 10 and then cutting over to the Hero 7 you can kind of hear what the audio sounds like now back on the 10 adjusting the audio again doing that treble boost as well as the volume and then on the Hero 7 doing the same setting for the audio now for the visual keep in mind how you can see me as a driver sitting course in a darker car going through the glass like how does the glass Look in relation to me can lit but can also see the Billet on the Hero 7 what about now can you can you have or is the glass A little bit more washed out that's a big thing I noticed especially in the Sun the hero 10 as you can see you can see me very well in the whole background the Hero 7 is a little washed out especially on a very sunny day if we cut to the POV angle right now getting a pretty good idea of what it looks like seeing the roof out through the windshield and the whole dashboard going from the hero 10 you can see how everything is laid out pretty nice and clear and then the Hero 7 of course being a darker day probably not too bad from this angle since the windshield is more of the focal point but definitely a pretty good view pretty stable as I'm just hand holding it once again but I think the hero 10 is far superior especially on a sunny day it really does a good job deciphering darks and the lights I think it does a really good job the seven be on a sunny day the windows get extremely washed out so overall not too bad for either camera but the 10 definitely has a leg up so now we're going to do a back to back clip of an acceleration from hero 10 to Hero 7. got the car with some windows down and the exhaust should make some noise as well so let's go to seven and then the ten [Music] and that is just the raw audio so you can get a good understanding of both cameras with a high noise comparison so now quick test with the direct sunlight behind me hopefully my head is shading you from the Sun but if I go up now you can see the sun is to the left of me there as it reflects off of the screen but how do I look here on the GoPro Hero 10 so my head shading me from the Sun and then having the sun poking out behind me but then on the seven same thing my head is kind of shadowing the lens but then when it's right behind me how is it doing so still Hero 7 just going back and forth and then hero 10. you can see the Sun up there you can see on the front screen it's not too crazy so then back to my main camera which is a Canon M50 with a boom mic on the top of it a few other interesting features on the hero 10 there is a thing called hindsight where I guess if the camera is on like right now where it's just on but not recording you can have a 30 second setup to where when you hit record it's already recorded 30 seconds before you hit the record button that would be super cool especially if it's set up in your car or something maybe something happens you hit record and it's already got the 30 seconds that you missed when you were recording so that's very cool both of these will do 240 frames per second however the biggest difference is going to be the 4 and 5K capabilities with the hero 10. of course the 4K you can do really high frame rates to be really good for 4k camera the Hero 7 is gonna be quite on par however honestly when you're looking at screens 1080 is still a really good way to film they both have the auto wind noise things like that I just keep them off and it's been off for this entire video just because both cameras kind of change the audio a little bit and when I'm recording in my car I have a microphone plugged into the camera anyway so I don't really use the into internal audio that much for these cameras but overall there is a pretty good look at how the hero 10 black Compares with the Hero 7 black once again I think the Hero 7 is a really solid choice so if you're not you know doing this for a living using this for crazy cinematic a ton of videos a good use Hero 7 will be a great way to go or even a new kind of leftover hero8 wouldn't be bad either but if you are looking for a new camera like top of the line I think the hero 10 is a great way to go I paid 330 bucks for mine at Costco came with an SD card two batteries and a wall charger and a whole carrying case and if you look at the hero 11s it's like 500 something bucks or something from gopro's website without all those accessories so it was a really good deal I'm happy with it and the Seven has served me very well for the last few years been a huge step up from the fives we had before that so there you go there's the 10 versus the seven hope you guys enjoyed today's video if you did give it a thumbs up hit that subscribe button stay tuned for plenty more content now that we got the tens so we got some better content to come I'll see you guys in the next video here we go [Music]
