the Google pixel 7A has been quite the performer over my past view speed test however we haven't faced it off against the Poco F5 yet which has been one of the better mid-range performers this year and while the Google pixel 7A does have the tensor G2 found in the Google pixel 7 and 7 Pro it only has eight gigabytes of RAM whereas this Poco F5 actually has 12 gigabytes of RAM and it's combined with a Snapdragon 7 plus Gen 2 so a flagship grade processor as well let's go ahead and find out for your money which one is faster in three two go now the Poco F5 is not really available why it's spread in the US whereas the pixel 7A can be found pretty much anywhere all carriers including you know some retail stores as well and the Pokemon 5 but you can find it you know unlocked on Amazon and stuff like that but not really widespread the pixel 7A boots up far faster than the Poco F5 the pixel probably has the fastest booting of any phone on the market today when it comes to their fingerprint sensors we are actually using a hardware based fingerprint sensor on the Poco F5 here whereas we're using an in-display model our in-display feature on the pixel 7A model so let's go ahead and check them out see which one is actually faster to unlock and that's going to be the Poco F5 and I've always kind of raved about you know Hardware base because they are a little bit faster but the pixel 7A is only a hair behind and I do like the placement of the pixel 7A I think it's in the right location but definitely you don't even have to look at the Poco F5 because it's Hardware you can just know where it's at easily whereas with this I'm probably not going to be able to pull it out of my pocket like I could be pulling this out of my pocket and we'll be in there so definitely very fast on the Poco F5 and you can see right there now in terms of their General performance the Poco F5 is running MIUI 14. it's a little bit different from the one you'll find on xiaomi products it's a Poco version of it I don't think it's quite as nice as that version but it's definitely very smooth here on the Poco F5 with the 120 hertz refresh rate display now the pixel is using a 90 Hertz version but it doesn't come on by default so you'll have to go to the settings go to display scroll down to where you see smooth display and toggle that on but when you have this one on high refresh it is at 120 hertz so it definitely feels super smooth maybe a little bit smoother than the pixel but the pixel still buttery because it is running the vanilla version of Android however the MIUI skin is not that you know super skinned out it does have some features but it still kind of feels like it it's about as smooth as like a vanilla Android experience so definitely very fast on both and no real issues just generally navigating their user interfaces they're both very good all right guys so everything is closed out for both devices let's go ahead and see how fast they can actually open up these applications so I'll go into calendar and you'll see that was faster I think on the Poco phone we're going to calculator faster on the Poco phone clock that was faster on the pixel we're going to play store for both phones and you can see that's faster on the right definitely we'll go over here to games and scrolling through generally pretty good on both let's go into Instagram and you'll see Instagram first there for the right we'll scroll over here and it looks like the Poco is maintaining its smoothness a little bit better when actually going into those sub menus so let's go into Twitter here for both phones about even we'll go to profile and you'll see that's about even as well we'll go into Groupon here and this one wasn't actually ready but we'll go ahead and use a sub menu so let's go into categories here and we'll go into tickets and events you'll see pretty much identical performance there now keep in mind though that the Poco F5 has a bigger screen and you know arguably maybe offering a little bit more in terms of just getting a bigger phone triple camera there are some things that could sway you to want something like that but the pixel 7A definitely has really good long software support probably much better than this phone and faster on Best Buy so the pixel 7e is really for people who want a flagship phone but they want a budget price point or I wouldn't say budget but I would say a cheaper price point let's go into Starbucks and you'll see look like the Poco F5 whereas the Poco F5 is going to be for somebody who really values really good specs at a really low price point let's go into play and we'll see which one can get in here first and it looks like we're running those at about the same time as well we'll go into asphalt 9. see how we do here and it looks like the Poco F5 was a little faster but not by much so let's go into Call of Duty here see which one can open this up faster and you're going to see it's looking like the Poco is in the lead here yeah the Poco definitely in the lead there and you'll find yeah the Poco loads this up first so the Poco might actually be faster for gaming than the Google pixel 7A which is saying something because the Poco is actually cheaper than the pixel 7A which is a little bit it's not super surprising just because you know this is not a us-based phone but still for having arguably better performance that's pretty crazy that you would get it at a much I wouldn't say much cheaper it's about a hundred dollars cheaper but that's something let's go over here to Temple Run 2. and Temple Run 2 looks to be loading first here again for the Poco F5 so the pocoy 5 Looking faster in games which really does say a lot because when they run the games quicker than we usually can decide okay well that's probably the faster phone because it's running the games which does demand a little bit more on the CPU than just regular apps so let's go into 3dmark and 3D Mark first there on the right and geekbench 6. and first there I look like on the right so I would say overall the Poco F5 is probably the faster performer here I felt a little bit snappier and a lot of these applications so I'm probably going to give it to the Poco F5 in terms of just kind of how fast it feels open daily applications all right so let's run through the RAM management here for the pixel 7A we'll see how it does here pretty good there held Call of Duty just fine we'll swipe out of there asphalt Legends pretty good and then we go to Dead Trigger two pretty good if we go there to Starbucks that's good eBay reloading Best Buy reloading Amazon reloading Groupon reloading Twitter reloading so pixel 7A not holding everything super well not as well as I would like but still it's not like a Slowdown it's something like serious but I think maybe a few years down the line that might not feel as fast as some of the current top-end flagships and I could tell you right away I could see that difference in animations the Poco doing a great job here begin to reload looks like we might be let's go to Dead Trigger two Starbucks eBay Amazon Groupon Twitter Instagram Play Store clock calculator calendar looks pretty yeah the Poco F5 performs better there and the RAM management for sure all right so let's go ahead and run their geekbench 6 test and we'll see which one actually comes out with the better score again taking a look at these cores you could see that the cluster one is at 1.8 gigahertz same here and then they have two cores of 2.35 Poco has three at 2.50 and on cluster three two cores at 2.85 and then over here one at 2.92 gigahertz so I'm gonna go ahead and run this CPU Benchmark and we're going to gather these scores and I'll be back with the final results all right and our final scores are in in the pixel down 300 points over the Poco F5 but the F5 surprising not surprisingly with the tire Ram score but you know having 12 gigs of RAM having eight but look at the multi-core that could explain why we were doing much better in the gaming Department here for the Poco F5 so the Poco F5 according to geekbench 6 is the faster device we'll go over here to 3dmark and that could be because Google's using last year's tensor G2 let's hit play which I think is kind of a little bit like why didn't they upgrade to like a tensor G3 for at least the pixel fold they're still using the tensor G2 on this phone and the upcoming pixel fold which it's not a bad thing it's a fast chip but even phones like this are now starting to beat the G2 which is just a Snapdragon 7 plus Gen 2 this is not even the 8 plus Gen 2 so I'll be back when you're done with your 3D Mark Wildlife test final Wildlife extreme scores are in and the Poco F5 wins it here too with 1955 and 11.70 on the average frame rate now the pixel 7A has 9.80 was 16.29 now if you scroll down you're going to see that the pixel score is better than 43 percent Poco f549 so according to this test it's it's not a big difference but it's definitely something and both of them did pretty good with their temperatures 36 degrees Celsius to 38 over here the pocos did a little cooler at 36 to 37 so yeah I definitely feel like the Poco has that game booster mode it makes it stay a little cooler this one stays cooler to the touch when gaming bigger screen I'd probably pick this for gaming probably pick this for just general Everyday Use and that camera so anyway let's go ahead and check out the camera launch speed for both phones here I'll bring the little android robot in there and we're going to go ahead and do this in three to go and you could see I think that was the pixel could have been the Poco let me try that again three two go that was the Poco and so that's gonna really wrap it up here between both of these phones you've seen throughout day-to-day usage um both of them are going to be fantastic picks but the Poco F5 just edges out the pixel 7A being a little bit faster and having a bigger screen and an extra camera lens however I think the pixel is probably going to produce the better camera results just because of the way pixel takes photos is just incredible however if you want more zoom the Poco F5 has it for you 120 hertz display more RAM but the pixel 7A longer software probably better software support as well and arguably the better software experience is vanilla pure Android on there but some people are going to really like the customizations of the MIUI so let me know which one you would pick down below and if you found the video helpful entertaining and forming enjoying whatever click the thumbs up for me subscribe if you haven't already Nick here be sure to be well and peace foreign
