and you impress upon
your subconscious mind, control your vibration. If they're negative ideas, you move into a negative vibration and you're going to feel bad. If they're positive ideas, you're going to move
into a positive vibration and you're going to feel good. The answer to your question. Look for the good in any situation and you're going to find it. That's just the way it works. Okay. - [Mykie] This next question. How do I keep my faith when
I have anxiety in my body? - Well, first of all, you
want to try and understand what's causing the anxiety. I'm showing, and this is something that a lot of people know. You look at. You either have ignorance or knowledge. Now we'll go back to the drawing again. If you're taking notes,
definitely write this down. Now remember we said everything's either negative or positive. You have the ability here to think. And you can think anything you want. If you're looking at something it has to get done and you
don't know how to do it, one of the most common things to do is to doubt your ability or to worry. That is building a negative idea. And if you doubt or worry
and you turn that over to what we call the emotional
or the subconscious mind, you're going to set up an
emotional state called fear. That fear must be
expressed through the body. See, there's a power it flows in. It flows to and through us. Well as it flows in, if you're worrying or you're full of doubt or worry, that's a negative information. You give the negative concept, you get emotionally
involved with the worry, it sets up something called fear. Fear expresses itself on a
physical level as anxiety. Anxiety is not something we expressed. Anxiety is something
we generally suppress. You suppress it. The suppression of that negative energy turns into depression. The depression turns into
what we call dis-ease. The disease ultimately
turns into disintegration. The body just starts breaking down. Now that's done on one side. The ignorance can be removed. You go run this side knowledge. What is the opposite of don't worry. The opposite of don't
worry is understanding. What do we want to understand? We want to understand that
everything has a positive and a negative. Let's understand that if
we're doubting ourself and worrying, we're going to
attract what we don't want. We want to understand what's going on. The only way you'd develop
understanding is through study. There's no other way of developing it. Understanding comes through study and that is what we're doing right now. This is a form of study. Anybody that's involved in our
programs really understands what I'm talking about and they
take control of their life. They take control of their income, their relationships, their health. The understanding leads to
something we call faith. Faith is the polar opposite to fear. Now, here's the crazy part. Both faith and fear demand that you believe in
something you cannot see. You see, when you understand
you're going to look for the good and you're going to get
involved and it's faith. Faith expresses itself as
wellbeing, not anxiety. The wellbeing is not
suppressed, it's expressed. It doesn't go to depression,
it goes to acceleration. Why? Because you're in a creative vibration. And that is because you're at ease. So think about that for a little while. This should keep your mind busy. - [Mykie] Bob, this next question. How can we deal with the
flood of news in the media without getting scared, especially the many
different expert opinions about the breakdown of the economy? - Well, first of all
quit thinking about it and quit studying it. That's what you're doing, studying it. You don't have to study it. I have not read the newspaper today. I don't intend to. I have not turned on CNN. I honestly believe, I
learned this a long time ago. If there's anything that you should know, you will over hear it in conversation. Get busy, get into a good book. The time you're spending on here, we're not going to be talking
about all those bad statistics. We're not going to be, we're going to be talking
about something good. Talking about something
that will make you happy. Here's a book that I've got here, Sandy Gallagher gave me this. It was "Attaining Your Desires." This little book was written in 1920. It's a phenomenal little book. I've been studying it for the last month. It's really a great little book. You overcome that tidal
wave of information by studying the polar opposite. Get into some good information,
get a good book on poetry. Start reading, "Think and
Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. It's such a good book. Get involved in one of our programs. We have people in coaching
programs from all over the world and we're showing them how to
get the best of themselves. How to keep moving in the right direction. How to set and achieve goals. Maybe you want some
information on any of this. So just leave your information, we'll send you information on it. Or if you're stuck, get it, talk to one of the coaches for half hour. It's not going to cost you a cent. We'll give you the coaching lesson. And sit down with one of these people, have them explain how this all works on a one on one basis with you. Take your own particular situation and let us talk to you about it. You'll find that you
can take control of it. You see one person with God is a majority, you're God's highest form of creation. There's nothing on this
planet that will equal you. Do you know that the wisest
among us cannot even guess at what you and I are capable of doing. When I take a look at what
I've done with my lifetime to this point and then I go back to where I started, it's absolutely amazing what I've accomplished from where I came. But you noticed something, it's nothing compared to what I could do. So you always want to set the goals higher and keep going for them and understand you've got just phenomenal potential within you. No one can guess at what
you're capable of doing. Start a study on that. Quit study in the
broadcast, the newspapers. - [Mykie] Bob, this next question, is there a way to make certain when you have a paradigm
shift during this time? - Well, yeah, there's
a way to make certain, if you have a paradigm shift. What you want to do is
understand what your paradigm is. Come back to the drawing
here for a moment. Your subconscious mind will
accept anything you give to it. Let me try it a different way. When you were a baby, this is
how you arrived on the scene. Your subconscious mind was wide open. Whatever was going on
in your outside world was going right into
your subconscious mind. That's why you learn the
language you learned. Now think of this. If you'd been taken out of your home and let's suppose you're taken out of an English speaking home in New Jersey and placed in a Chinese home
in the suburbs of Shanghai, you would probably grow
up fluent in Chinese with no knowledge of the English language. You would grow up eating Chinese food in the total Chinese culture. Meanwhile, you could have
a brother or a sister that's growing up in that
English speaking home in New Jersey. Both come from the same parents. Totally different programming. Now there's programming in there. There's genetic. That's why you look like
some of your relatives. If you're thinking where
you come from, first of all, a little particle of energy from mom and a little particle of energy
from dad came swimming along and bingo, they were in resonance and that became the essence of you. Well, that little particle of
energy kept attracting energy for the next 280 days. Now you've to ask where
did the little particle from mom come from and
where did little particle from dad come from? It came from her mother and
dad, his mother and dad. Where did it come from? From them, from their parents. So there's a genetic conditioning that passes down over generations. Now this genetic conditioning
is very powerful. It's the DNA from the parents that's programmed right into your genes. So there's this genetic conditioning and then what I'm talking about here now with this little drawing that
is environmental conditioning. Then there's, it's coming in here. Now as this goes along, there's an idea or a program being built in here. We call it a paradigm. Now the paradigm is nothing
but a multitude of habits. It's a multitude of habits. As time goes on it will come back now. The conscious mind begins to develop. However, the paradigm is already there and you reached an age
now where you can see, hear, smell, taste, touch. You've got intellectual perception or intellectual faculties. You have perception, the will, reason, imagination, memory, intuition, all these are higher faculties that operate here in the conscious mind. Now as this power flows in, we can use these higher faculties, we can build anything we want, but generally the way we think, the thoughts that we think are thoughts that are generally in harmony with this paradigm. If this paradigm is
predominantly negative, the thoughts we think are
predominantly negative. You see, part of that
paradigm is the image that you have of yourself. This was built at a very early age, so the paradigm is a multitude of ideas, both negative and positive. Now if there's more
negative than positive, that'll show up in the results. If it's more positive than negative, that'll show up in results. If you watch the way
people habitually live, the way they habitually act. Study your own behavior. When you wake up in the
morning, how do you behave? There's a program that's being expressed. It's called your paradigm. It's your habitual way of living. Your habitual way of
acting, doing what you do. Now, when you're talking
about changing your paradigm, you may say, what's one or two things I really want to change? I'll give you a good suggestion. Change the ideas that you're focused on. The outside world is causing you to want to look at the negative. They're saying, look at
this and they broadcast it. The news is on it constantly. The papers, it doesn't matter where it is. You could say, I am not
going to listen to that. I'm going to form the habit. I will form the habit. I will get in the habit over the next, I don't know,
three to four, five, six months of just focusing on this. I'm going to form the habit
of looking for what's good in the midst of all this that's going on around us. Now, if you do that what you're doing is you're changing your paradigm. Well, I'm writing with my
left hand every day with this. That's changing my paradigm. Your paradigm is, what did I do here? Scott, where did it go? Here we are. Your paradigm is the idea, the programming in the subconscious. It's expressed in habitual behavior. If you stand back and
watch what people do, you'll see how they're programmed because they do
essentially the same thing. Listen to how they talk. They talk essentially the same way. Watch what they do. Study the results people get. If people are having problems with money, if that's a problem that
they keep having or result, that's their paradigm. They will continue to
have problems with money until they decide to change it. Now think of that for a moment. You'll continually have
problems with money until you change your paradigm on it. If you have problems in relationships, you'll continue to have
problems in relationship until you change the paradigm. If you have problems getting
along with other people, you'll have problems until
you change the paradigm. We have a tendency to
look outside as being that the cause of the problem is outside, the cause of the problem
is not outside at all. The cause of the problem is inside. It's in the paradigm. Paradigm is a multitude of habits that are fixed in the subconscious mind that control our habitual behavior. Hope that helps. - [Mykie] That was very helpful. Our next question is a
lot of people are having to start over right now. What would you recommend to start working on during this time to earn an income and develop their mindset? - Well, I've said many times if people asked me if I was
starting over, what would I do? I went to network marketing. I really would. I was talking to some people the other day and they said they were
in massive momentum. It was just getting so busy. I think network marketing
is a great thing. I'm not in network marketing. I've been in this business
as long as network marketing has been growing. And network marketing started
about the same time I started and it had been along for a while, but I think it's a phenomenal
way people can work on their own. They decide what they're going to earn, decide where they're going to work. It's just a great concept. And if I were out of work right now, if I was in a position
where I was laid out, I would look for somebody
that's doing very well in network marketing and I would ask them to show me what to do. That's what I would do. Don't just go to anybody. - [Mykie] Thanks Bob. - Go to somebody that's very successful, do a little research. There's a lot of very successful people. - [Mykie] This next question, knowing and embodying
things are very different. How can we develop a
deeper awareness of self? - Oh, well, develop a
deeper awareness of self. You've got to continually study what we're talking about here. First of all, let's take a look at this. Now. First of all, you are a spiritual being. You live in a physical body. You've been gifted with an intellect. Now, spirit is omnipresent, spiritual is 100% evenly present at all places at the same time. Your spiritual DNA is perfect. In fact, that's what I'm writing every day with my left hand. I'll read it to you. I'm so happy and grateful now that I realize my
spiritual DNA is perfect, and that perfection is within me. I begin each day looking
for areas of my life where I want to see that
perfection expressed habitually. That's what I've written
every day, 326 days, and I'll continue to do it
for the rest of the year. We're spiritual beings. Now spirit is omnipresent. I don't care what you're studying. I don't care what religion you
belong to, there's Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jew, it
doesn't make any difference. They'll all tell you God
is 100% evenly present in all places at the same
time, spirit is omnipresent. And we live in a physical body. Now I've got a dog that lives in a physical body
and a spirit is omnipresent. That spirit has to be in that dog. They'll say, well, no, the
Spirit is not in the dog. So what are you going to say? Spirit is omnipresent
everywhere except Bob's dog. I don't think so. Spirit is omnipresent. It's 100% evenly present in
all places at the same time. Now, spirit manifest in physical form. The difference in you and I and everything else on this planet is right here, the intellect. I mentioned it earlier, is perception, the will, reason, imagination,
memory and intuition. Now that's what separates you from all the rest of the animal kingdom. Archibald McCleese, McLeish, a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright had a character stand
up in a play one time and say, "The only thing about a man "that is a man is his mind. "Everything else you'll
find in a pig or a horse." He was right. They don't have these higher faculties. It's these higher faculties, that give us the ability to choose. Now look. You can see, hear, smell, taste and touch. And that are there like little antennae that pick up information
from your outside world. And as that information flows in, you're getting information from outside. This power that flows in, you can turn into anything you want. You've got the ability to choose. That's where reason comes in. You can take with reason
and you can choose anything. But you know, we let stop as logic. We let logic stop there,
well, that's so logical, it's like anything heavier than air is attracted towards
the center of the earth. You see, if I let this pen go,
you know it's going to fall. That didn't stop the Wright brothers of introducing us to a new kingdom, as and illuminated the world. Do you know why? They got an idea here
in their conscious mind? And they say, I am going to execute. I'm going to make that happen. And that's what you want to do. That's what our company's all about. Helping people build dreams. I have something here. I've got to read it to you. Where is it? I love this. It is just somewhere, working and working on
presentation with this in it. This was written by T.S Eliot. They made a movie on his
life, "Lawrence of Arabia." If you've never watched the
movie, get it and watch it. Lawrence was an officer
in the British Army and he went to Arabia
to fight with the Arabs. He distinguished himself there, he wrote something about dreaming. We dream. He said, "All people
dream, but not equally." Those who dream by night
in the dusty recesses of their mind wake in the day
to find that it was vanity. But he said the dreamers of the day are the dangerous ones for they may act their
dreams with open eyes to make it possible. This I did. I think of Chris Terry when I read that. All people dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night
in the dusty recesses of their mind, wake in the day
to find that it was vanity, but the dreamers of the
day are dangerous men. For they may act their
dreams with open eyes to make it possible. This I did, that's what
Lawrence of Arabia said. I adopted that. I dream by day this idea. That's where our company,
this is what our company is. That's what Sandy Gallagher and I sit and we brainstorm
together, building ideas. That's what you want to do. Now just see if we come
back here for a moment. You have the ability to build
any idea you want in your mind and if you will take that idea and begin to get emotionally
involved with that idea. That idea changes the vibration you're in, which changes the way you act, which changes what you attract to you and that changes the results. You see, the law of
attraction is a secondary law. The secret talked a lot
about law of attraction, but it's a secondary law. The primary law is the law of vibration, the law of vibration decrees, everything moves, nothing rests. This body is moving. My body and your body is changing at rate of about 50
million cells per second. So it's bringing in energy,
it's casting off energy. You can actually photograph
the energy leaving your body. Well, let's make sure that it's moving into
a positive vibration. Let's make sure the idea
that dominates our minds when we choose. It's a positive idea that we choose. We are not going to let the negativity of the present day dominate our thinking. I don't care how dominant the
news media wants to make it. It is not going to control my thinking. I'm going to control my thinking. I will read, keep reading these books. I listen in to recordings
and I get on the phone and I mastermind with people. Think about it. What's the next question Mykie. I probably got off track on that. I got in a little bit of (murmurs) there. - [Mykie] This next question. How do you avoid drifting on your goals? - How do you avoid drifting? - [Mykie] Yes. - Okay. Well let's come back here
to the drawing for a moment. Now, we talked about it. It's through reason and
probably imagination that enables us to build
a picture of what we want. Now remember I said there's perception, the will, reason, imagination,
memory and intuition. The will gives us the
ability to hold one idea on the screen of the mind to the exclusion of all
outside distractions. When John Kennedy asked
Dr. Wernher Von Braun what it would take to build a rocket that would carry a person in the moon, bring him back safely to earth, Von Braun answered him in
five words, the will to do it. In other words if you
have a strong enough will that you'll hold that idea
on the screen of your mind to the exclusion of all
outside distractions that want you to drift. Andrew Carnegie was
Napoleon Hill's mentor. He's the one that commissioned him to write this laws of achievement that the "Think
and Grow Rich" came from. He said, any idea that's held in the mind, I'll come back here and look, any idea that's held in the mind that's emphasized, that you
continually think about, that's emphasized, that's either feared or revered will begin at once to clothe itself in the most convenient and
appropriate form available. You see, that idea must move into form because that's one of the
first laws of the universe is the perpetual transmutation of energy. Energy is always moving into form. That's a law of the universe. The perpetual transmutation of energy. Go look outside in a nice clear day, you'll see a note there. You'll see a cloud
formation start to form. If you stay there long enough
the cloud will get dark, it'll get heavy and
water will come from it. Energy moves into form, through
form and back into form. Energy is moving into form in your body. Energy is coming in. It's casting off cells. It's recreating new cells. There's a continuous evolution
of change taking place. It never stops. Hold the idea with your will, the will is the mental
faculty that gives you the ability to concentrate. If you will take, do this, you want to learn to concentrate, draw a picture. Just draw a dot like that on the wall opposite your favorite chair. And when you sit down and
concentrate on that dot. Just concentrate on that dot. Keep focused on the dot. Now when you find your mind wander, don't worry about it,
bring it back to the dot. The more you concentrate, the more you can concentrate on that dot, the more you'll be able to
concentrate on anything. See, when you learn to
concentrate on one thing, you can concentrate on anything, that is because you're
strengthening your will. That's that mental muscle
that gives you the ability to stay focused so your
mind doesn't drift. Next one. - [Mykie] Okay it's a great question Bob. Is now a good time to start if someone wanted to become a
Proctor Gallagher consultant, given so many people are out of work? - I think now is the best time
in the world to do anything. Do you know it's a strange thing for most people are out
of work, who are busy. We're really busy. Sandy and I got together on the phone when this all started and of course everybody's
talking about people are going to get laid
off and this and that, and I said, let you and I make
a commitment to ourselves. No one gets laid off. Let's make a commitment to our selves that we will keep growing. We will keep growing. We will keep working. We will keep helping
people all over the world. That's exactly what we're doing. Listen, now is the best
time to do anything. Here's a sand timer. I was sitting on my desk. Now let's look at this for a moment. The sand in the top of this glass represents the future. The sand in the bottom of the glass, now I just turned it over so
there's not much there yet, represents the past. This sand in the bottom
of the glass represents the time since I started
to talk about this 'cause I just turned it over. There's sand there. You're never going to get
that time back, ever, never. And here's the point. You don't know how much sand you have in the top of your glass. You don't know. You do not know. I tell a story all the time. You may think you have
a lot of sand there. You may only have a little. Then again, you may
think you have a little, it may turn out you have a lot. When I was a little boy, my grandmother would have been around 60, she was a very old lady. Now I've since changed my
perception of what's old, but that in any array,
grandma would be saying, I'll soon be gone and
I'll soon will be gone. Well, we didn't want her to go. We loved her dearly. I mean, grandma was like an angel. She lived with us. But it got to a point we thought grandma was never going to go because
she was always saying, I'll soon be gone, I'll soon be gone. Grandma didn't leave us until she was 94 and just one night, angels
came and took her away. Grandma was gone. Grandma thought she
only had a little sand. She actually had about
34 or 35 years left. Now I chummed around with
a young guy named Bob Gates in the beaches area of Toronto. Bob and I were, as they
say, stick as thieves. We did everything together. Bob was a little ahead of me and he got a little bit of a panel truck. It was like a car that
was open at the back and he started to do work. He was only 16, he's still going to school
but doing carpenter work and paint and everything. He was coming into
Kingston around highway, he had 16 gallons of red
paint in the back of his truck and he hit the abutment of
a bridge, a concrete bridge. There was paint all over that
bridge for many, many years. Every time I went through
there, I'd see it. Bob's life boom, like
that was snuffed out. When I asked Bob that morning
how much time he had left, he would said a half a century (murmurs). He didn't have a half hour. He was only 16. Here's grandma at 60
saying I'll soon be gone. She was there until 94. Bob at 16 it was all over. Now here's the point. You don't know how much sand you have left in the top of the glass. You can't do anything
about what's in the past. If you want to do something,
you do it right now. Don't put it off. Make a decision. And there's only one prerequisite
for making a decision. And that is do you want it? That is the only prerequisite. Do you want it? If you want to, the way will be shown. You don't have to know how. In fact, if you know how
you're probably going sideways. When do you make a decision right now? That's all you've got is right now. And I'm going to tell you, if you joined a great group of people, we've got some phenomenal people
in 88 different countries. It's really great. Next one there, Mykie. - [Mykie] This next question, is it possible to return to old habits after altering the paradigm or does that mean if you
return to old paradigms that the original paradigm
was never really altered? (laughs) - That's a good way of putting it. Both of your answers could be the same. Yeah, you can go back
to old habits, you can. And the paradigm might've been altered but not strong enough. You see, when you're
altering the paradigm, here's what you want to think about. The paradigm is a multitude of ideas. So what we're going to do, we're
going to take a negative one. There's both positive and negative. We're going to take a negative one and we're going to replace
it with a positive one. So we make a conscious decision. I'm going to start to do
this, the positive idea. Now to do that, we have to impress that idea
upon our emotional mind. You may not get it fixed in there. You keep impressing it over
and over and over again and you'll keep doing it. But if something draws you away from it before it gets fixed in there,
it's like a little tree. When you plant a tree in the ground, it grows up as just a little twig. And you can take two fingers, pull that tree out of the ground, but leave that seed
there, walk in for awhile. And that root takes
and it grows right out. That's what happens with ideas. They have a strong root base. There are difficult to break
or difficult to change, but you can change them. So the answer is maybe it didn't make the change strong enough and you've just gone back to the old one. Make up your mind ,that
isn't going to happen to you. If you're going to change
it, negative for a positive, make sure that the change is permanent. - [Mykie] All right, this next question, what's the difference
between materialization and manifestation and how do
we apply it in daily life? - Well, there isn't any difference. The materialization and the manifestation, you're talking about
exactly the same thing and how do you apply it in your life? Well, here it is here. We take a look at our results. We say this is our results,
this is the result I'm getting. And then you're going to
say, I want to change this, and we're creative beings, so we take this power that's flowing in and we build a beautiful idea. Now what we want, we want that
idea to manifest in results. We want it to materialize. Now for it to materialize, we've got to get
emotionally involved in it. And you may be emotionally
involved with that for quite a while before
you see any sign of it on a physical plane. It isn't a matter, you just
take the idea, plant it and that happens. No. I have worked on an idea for a year and there's no sign of it materializing. Absolutely none. That doesn't stop me. I just keep going 'cause I know by law that that idea must materialize. If you keep feeding that
idea, you keep feeding it, it's got to happen. That's an absolute law. But materialization or the manifestation, you're talking about the same thing. It's exactly the same thing. See, the law that we're talking about is the law of perpetual
transmutation of energy. You build an idea. That idea must move into physical form. It goes from the etheric state to the astral state, which is the cloud formation of the idea, to the physical state to
the thing, moves into form. I should take that out of there. Hold on. Now how did that go? I lost it. I got it. There we go. So it goes from etheric state here, to the astral state. The idea to the thing,
to the physical result, so it's from the etheric, from just pure, unadulterated spirit to the intellect, to the physical. We live simultaneously. I have three planes of understanding. You're a spiritual being. You have an intellect, you're
living in a physical body. We're creative beings. That's why we're creative beings. We were created in God's image. We can literally create. And we do. Creation isn't, you're not. We talked about creation, you're not making something or a nothing. You're causing energy
that's in an etheric state to move into physical form. So we give it form through the idea, and by holding the idea, it must manifest in
physical form for results. Now, here's the point. No one knows what the gestation
period is for an idea. You build the idea in your mind. No one knows how long it takes for that idea to move into form. But we do know one thing. It must move into form. That's a law. So just because it's not happening as fast as you think it should, that doesn't mean it's
not going to happen. Next one.
- [Mykie] This next question, do you have an exercise for the
times when you're uninspired and have no idea what you want in life? - I got an excellent exercise for that. I make sure I don't get
like that through the day because every morning I sit and I write 10 things I'm grateful for. If you're uninspired, you
have a mental problem, Okay? There's a mental problem. Wallace D. Wattles wrote in a little book "The Science of Getting Rich." Let me get that for a moment. Here is an original of "The
Science of Getting Rich." My dear friend Mary Morrissey gave me this and here's by the same
publisher Sandy gave me, "Attaining Your Desires,"
Genevieve Behrend. But in anyway, "The
Science of Getting Rich," I'm going to find it. Where is that chapter? I got it memorized. I'm going to share it with you. That's six, seven. Now listen to this. The whole process of mental adjustment,
that's what you want, the mental adjustment, and atonement can be summed up in one word, gratitude. The whole process of mental
adjustment and atonement can be summed up in one word, gratitude. If you find yourself uninspired,
just nothing's going, nothing firing upstairs, sit down and think, what have
I got to be grateful for? My goodness. I mean, you make a list of, you can spend all day writing it. I am so grateful for our
studio here at PGI studio. Do you know what I've got
here, is a television. So it's making broadcast all
over the world from here. I have multiple cameras. I have young guy, Scott Edwards, who set a goal to working
with me when he was 13 when he first saw the secret. He's 26 today and he's
in our control room. He is the studio controller. He runs it for us. He is just absolute genius kid and pleasure to work with him. I am so grateful for this studio. We were talking about and
Sandy said, let's build it. I said, yeah, let's, so we've got it. We've broadcast, multiple cameras, broadcast all over the world. I had a 16 foot green screen in behind me I can go and press a button and out of the ceiling
will come a green screen. I should show you. 16 feet. It was right out on the floor. That means I could put
me on the "Riviera," take me anywhere in the world and we can broadcast all
over the world from here. I am so grateful for this studio. I'm grateful for Sandy. I'm grateful for my family. Put all the things in my life. You start writing down
what you're grateful for, I guarantee you. You'll start to get inspired. Next one there Mykie. - [Mykie] All right, this next question, how do we train persistence? I'm a great starter, but
I struggle to keep it up. - I'll tell you exactly how to do it. I'll say how I did it. I was driving to the airport one time with John Canary many, many years ago. It would have been a, in the 60s, I don't know, 66, 65. And the two of us were talking. We said, what is one quality that sort of above all the others, and we arrived at the
conclusion that persistence was. He said in here, he said, "There may be no heroic connotation "to the word persistence.' But he says the quality is to
the character of the human. Like what carbon would be to seal. Now, I got to share this with you. He said, there is no
substitute for persistence. It cannot be supplanted
by any other quality. Remember this in the beginning and it will hurt you in the beginning. It may seem difficult and slow. Those who cultivate the habit,
the habit of persistence seem to enjoy insurance against failure. No matter how many
times they are defeated, they finally arrive up toward,
toward the top of the ladder. Sometimes it appears that
there is a hidden guide whose duty is to test people through all sorts of
discouraging experiences. Those who pick themselves up after defeat and keep on trying arrive
in the world cries, bravo. I knew you could do it. The hidden guide lets no
one enjoy great achievement without passing the persistent test. Those who can't take it
simply don't make the grade. Those who can take it
are abundantly rewarded for their persistence. They receive as their compensation, whatever goal they are pursuing. Now listen to this for a moment. Hill is obviously writing
this book from New York. He says, as these lines are being written, I look up my work and I see before me
less than a block away, the great mysterious Broadway, the graveyard of dead hopes and the front porch of opportunity. From all over the world, people come to Broadway seeking
fame, fortune, power, love, whatever it is that the
human being called success. Once in a great while, someone steps out from a long procession of seekers and the world cries, bravo. I knew you could do it. But Broadway is not easily
or quickly conquered. She acknowledges talent, recognizes tenures and pays off in money, only after a person has refused to quit. Then we know this person
has discovered the secret of how to conquer Broadway. The secret is always inseparably
attached to one word. Persistence. Well, of course I had
read that a few times and we decided that that was the quality we needed more than anything else. Now, that was in the 60s. I'm still going strong. I'll be 86 in a couple of months. I have no intentions of slowing down. We agreed that we would
read that every day for 30 days once a year. I've been doing that now for 37 years. That's how you become persistent. Get the chapter on persistence
from "Think and Grow Rich." Read it every day. I believe we've got a
little book with this in it with all the different examples. Sandy made up one. I will have it put on our site somewhere. It's a little book, as I remember, it's a little brown book like that. Do you know what I'm talking about, Mykie? - [Mykie] I sure do, and we have the link. We'll add it to the
description of this call right when we'll add that there. - Good girl. Got you on top of it, man you're quick. Thank you. - [Mykie] This next question, how can we use our perspective to reframe what's happening right now, even if we're in the middle
of a really difficult time? - Understand this. There's a law of rhythm. The law of rhythm decrees
that the night follows day. When the tide goes out,
the tide comes back in, that winter never follows winter. There will be bad times
and there'll be good times. If it's just a little bad, it'll only be a little good. If it's only a short
way up onto this desk, it's only a short way down onto the floor. You can't have something that's real bad without having something that's real good. Start to know there's
something really good coming. There's something really good in this, if you want to look for it and find it, don't make the error
of measuring everything from a physical perspective. Don't think death is bad. Death is the same as birth. It's your perception of
it, that's good or bad. You can change your perception. That is one of the beautiful truths. You see, I think we have it here. Where did we put it? Here we are. Bring that back up, Scott. There. You see, I had perception, as a higher faculty. Now you can put something,
if I have a challenge, thanks to Scott, I would write the challenge
out on a piece of paper and I'll put it on a desk and
I'll sit and I'll look at it, and I'll keep looking at it and then I may look at it and say, how do Napoleon Hill look at that? How would Napoleon Hill look at that? Then they may go sit in another
place at the table and say, how would Edison look at that? You see, if you'd try and look at it from another person's point of view, your perception will begin to shift and start to realize that if you keep studying history and studying the laws, you're going to realize that even while we're talking
about it's changing, it never stops changing
and I can assure you there's very good times coming. Very good times. I know why I know that 'cause
there's very bad times here. You can't have a long way
up and a short way down. The law, it's equal and opposite. If it's 25 feet from
that wall to that wall, it has to be 25 feet from
that wall to that wall, they're equal and opposite. Next one there Mykie. - [Mykie] This next question, how can I overcome the thought
that my life's path is set? It's not going to change now, so why wish that things were different? - My goodness, that's a
very bad old fashioned idea. I'm looking at this quote
by Lawrence of Arabia. Omar Sharif is in it and Peter O'Toole. And Omar Sharif said to
Lawrence, "Allah has written," and Lawrence said, "Then I won't do it, then I'll change it." See, he didn't buy the idea
that because Allah has written or God said. You have a choice. You choose everything in your life. I chose to focus on what
was wrong in my life. I chose to focus on what I
didn't like about school. I was a terrible student. I was a loser. I was going in the wrong
direction and pick up speed until I was 26 years old, I
did nothing of any consequence. I started to read this and I did exactly what the man,
Ray Stanford told me to do. I followed his direction. Everything changed. I coach people periodically, I'll tell them, if you do
exactly what I tell you, if you do exactly what I tell you, I'm going to show you how to win because I'm going to tell you
to do things that I know work 'cause I've done it. But you've got to do exactly. See, go to a person that's winning. Find out what they're doing and then do exactly what
they're telling you. Your life is like a blank sheet. What's happened in the past, got no bearing on where you're going. It's such a beautiful thought. Get rid of the idea that it's written. It isn't written. You're a creative being, you have the ability to
create whatever you want with your life, whatever
you want, don't miss that. If that's the only thing
you got out of this call, get on a, listen, if you've got a bit of time, leave your name and get
on with one of our coaches and just talk to them for a few minutes. So that they can talk one on one with you with your particular situation. We'll bring up some personal
stuff and then, and focus. Don't pass it up. I watch people change. My goodness. Chris Guerrero, this guy
keeps coming to my mind. He may be on a call. I don't know. Chris was a guy, guys should
I speak to my 5 years ago. Chris wrote me a letter one day. He got in our coaching program and he said, "Bob, I had to put a couple
of credit cards together "to go to the coaching program," but he said, "I want you to know, "I just had my first
million dollar a month." Now I got a letter from here
just a little while ago. It was 25 years ago when
he wrote me that letter. He's earned millions of dollars. He's helped people all over the world. His whole life has changed. But I could tell you all
kinds of people like that. I had a call from, or a text today from Phil Goldfine. He was saying this, he's
never seen things better. He keeps getting great things in the mail. I met Phil, he was talking to another chap named Morrissey. Phil was reading my book,
"You Were Born Rich." He was telling this
person, he was talking to and the guy said, "Well, I know Bob." He said, "You don't know him." He said, "No, I do know him." He said, "Phone him." So he said, "Okay." So they phoned me. And then I get on the phone
and it was Phil and he said, "I would love to talk to you." And I said, "Okay, well,
you talk then to me." He said, "Where are you now?" And I said, "I'm in Las Vegas." he said, "Can I come and see you." And I said, "Yeah, if you want." So he said, "I'm in LA,
so it won't take me long. He said, "I'll phone
you when I get there." So he and I met, now, this is a little over 20 years ago now, I guess. 22 years ago. Phil was struggling. I said, "What do you do?" He says, "I'm a TV producer." I said, "How well are you doing? He said, "Not that well." I said, "What are you earning?" He said, "About a quarter
of a million dollars." He later told me he lied,
he was earning about 200. And I said, "What do you really want?" He said, "I want to earn
millions of dollars." I said, "Well, I can
show you how to do that." And he said, "I want to win an Oscar." I said, "I can show you how to do that." He said, "I want to win an Emmy." I said, "I can show you how to do that." He started to look at me like, come on. And I said, "Listen, "it doesn't matter what
you're telling me you want, "I can show you how to get it
because everything you get, "you get by law or you
get by violating the law." Now, this is true of everyone. It's just that not many people
really understand the laws. Now, that was about 22 years ago. Phil does exactly what I tell him. If I tell him he should study this book, he'll study that book. He will study it until I
tell him not to study it. He earns millions of dollars. Now, the average producer might do maybe one, two movies every three years. I think this past year Phil did something like 10 or 12 movies. He earns millions, literally
millions of dollars. He won an Oscar. In fact, I had him stand up in a seminar and give an acceptance
speech for winning the Oscar when he hadn't won it, he
had only been nominated and about two weeks later he won it. He won an Emmy, now I think
there's only about 3074 people that have won an Oscar in the
years that has been going. But there's only been 26 people have won an Oscar and Emmy and a Tony. He won the Oscar for the movie Emmy for TV, Tony for Broadway. Phil told me about a year ago and he said, "Bob," he said "I would like
you to meet me in New York. "I'm producing "Tootsie,"
that's opening night." I said, kind of love it,
so I jumped on the plane, went down to New York and we went and saw "Tootsie" together. He won a Tony. See he's number 27 Oscar, Emmy,
Tony, millions of dollars. But you know something, he
does exactly what I suggest study, get study in this. Don't pass it up, sit down
with some of the coaches. Talk to them, share what your situation is and they'll show you there's
an answer to everything. Listen, you couldn't have a
question without an answer. That's like having an up without a down or hot without a cold. It's the opposite side of the same thing. There'd be no inside of this room if there wasn't an outside of the room. Well, you couldn't have a
question without an answer. You give us the questions,
we'll give you the answers 'cause they're all here, it's by law. What else do you got there, Mykie? I want to suggest if you're listening to this share with other people, share it, it's all recorded, share it. Send it to your friends,
tell them to listen to it. We need to share more good information. The media is doing a phenomenal job at sharing the bad information. Let you and I, every one of
us, let's make up our mind we're going to share this
with a whole list of people. Our whole mailing list, go ahead Mykie. - [Mykie] I love that, this next question, how can I find out what I'm really good at
and what my purpose is? - Well, I'm going to help you. Your purpose is what
you're really good at. You just have to find one
and you've got the other. I watched a woman on television,
very good looking lady. She had been a dancer
in a chorus in Vegas, but she said she knew she
wasn't good enough to be a star, so she decided that she would quit. She loved baking pastry. She went to France, got a job
helping great pastry chefs. When I watched her being interviewed, she one of the world's
greatest pastry chefs. She sat down and asked herself,
what do I really love doing? That's what she loved doing. If you sit every morning,
take a pen and a pad, spend maybe, I don't
know, five, 10 minutes, you may set 15 minutes, set your clock so the bell goes off every 15 minutes, so you get 15 minutes and ask yourself, what do I really love doing? What do I really love doing? What you love doing, that's
where your purpose is. You see, I believe we're all
hardwired to do something. I'm obviously doing what I should be doing I'm obviously, I love doing
them, I absolutely love it. Well, sitting as yourself,
what do I really love doing? Now there's a trick here
because you may think, but I can't earn any money on that. Well, let me tell you a side story. I was talking to a doctor
one time in Phoenix. He was in a seminar and he was telling me, I got to know, I mean he's a nice guy. I got to know him a bit. And he told me he was going
to quit being a doctor and I said, "Well, you're going to quit?" He said, "yeah." I said, "why?" You can't earn any money at this anymore. Well, he said i know profession
is a little messed up, he says, "Totally messed up." He said, "You've got
to put in longer hours "to earn less money." And I said, "Well, that's not too good." I said, "Why did you become
a doctor in the first place?" Well he said, "I love it." He said, "What the hell do you care if you get paid anything for it?" See, the trick in life
is to have a purpose that's so big and beautiful. When you wake up in the morning, you're going to do what you love doing. Our problem is we think
we going to earn money on what we're doing, you don't have to earn money on it. If you can earn money
at it, that's a plus. But I said, "The very fact,
that you earn anything "for being a doctor is a plus." And I said, "You've got
it mixed up in here." You think you go to work for money? Working is the worst way to earn money. It is the worst way to earn money. You provide service to earn money. Provide service to earn money. Now you can be providing service
when you're sound asleep. Sandy, my business partner
can be out in a horse show. But she's earning money. She's not all so spending
it on the horses, but she's earning money while
she is riding the horses. I could go skiing, I
could be earning money. Last night while I was
sleeping, I was earning money. I know how I was because I have people working with me on the
other side of the world they're out working when I'm sleeping. You see you earn money
by providing service. That's why I suggested, if you're looking for
something for goodness, then go find a real good
network marketing company because I think it's the
best thing in the world, I really do. But again, find someone
that's very successful at it. Don't just go with anybody. Find somebody who's successful and then do exactly what they tell you. Your purpose is what you love to do. So if you sit and ask yourself,
what do I really love doing? When I was doing this business, when I was in the office
cleaning business. I was teaching all the cleaners
this material all the time and I couldn't figure out
why I was so successful when I was in England. And I thought, I'm going to
figure out why am I so successful 'cause I was doing very well
and I couldn't figure it out. It took me nine and a
half years of studying, how did my life change? I went from losing, you
talk about paradigm shifts from one side to the other. It took me nine and a half
years to figure it out. It changed through the
repetition of this information over and over and over again I kept hitting my subconscious mind. We go on the screen here
for a moment, Scott. I'm saying over and over and over again. I kept planting that kind of
an idea into my subconscious over and over and over and over again. And I'm doing this over
the long period of time, listening to records, liberating
the book, thanks Scott. That's how my life changed. And that's when I realized, I'm going to spend the rest
of my life teaching this. I knew I had to quit what I was doing and I made up my mind then, I would spend the rest
of my life teaching this. You have no idea how long I worked, for nothing never got a cent
in fact it cost me money. Hill work for 20 years for nothing. Now you don't have to today
because we figured it out. Because you teach people how to do it. Consultants in our company, some of them earning over
a million dollars here. There's no end to what
you can do, you see. I spend all my time doing what I love. When I wake up in the morning,
I come out to my studio and I start doing what I love doing. What could you ask for? What better a life is there than that? Now there's something
I want to caution you. Linda, my wife was used to get plunges from money problems. I never got plunges I mean, there was a money
problem, didn't bother me. I had learned how to teach this, but I never learned how to run a business. And I went on for years like this and struggle, struggle, struggle. And about 15 years ago, I had a little lawyer
lady come to our seminar and one thing led to another, she owns half of this
company, Sandy Gallagher. First thing on my gratitude list, Sandy's financial genius,
that's obvious first thing. She change our company, changed
everybody in the company, changed everybody that we
reach outside the company. She's a genius with money,
I'm genius at earning it. She's a genius knowing how to handle it. I don't know how to handle it, I think that's got to be one of the most boring things in the world
to do is look after money. Earning it, it's creative,
it's fun I love it. Looking after it, she loves it, loves it. I'm quite sure she goes to
sleep at night counting money. She loves it, but she's
really good at it too. Next one there Mykie, we
still got a few minutes. - [Mykie] All right, this next
question, my husband and I have successfully manifested $224 million using Bob's techniques. What I want to know is, is there a limit to what
we could and should do? - No, there's no limit to
what you could and should do. Sandy and I made a decision one day, do good, do good with
it, put it to good work. That doesn't mean you shouldn't
just throw it all away. We build schools in Africa
with Cynthia Kersey. Every week, every 10 days
we build a new school. Hundreds of kids are getting educated and getting nutritious food, clean water. I love what we do there, I love it. There's beautiful thing about money that you can do so much good with it. Money it's an instrument that enables you to extend the good, you do
far beyond your own presence. There's no end to what
you can do with money. Money's a tool, money
extends a good you can do far beyond your own presence. Think of good you want
to do, keep earning money keep doing good, it's an
instrument that's all it is. Do good with it. Congratulations, that's good to hear. I meet a lot of people that
earn millions of dollars. You see, first of all,
you've got to get the idea that millions, is not a lot of money. And if you're think it is you're mixing with the wrong people. A million is a little tiny bit of money. It's strange thing, this was, Sandy and I help each other, we do. I was I was talking to Peggy
McColl on the phone one day. She said she and Danny
were looking at houses, but the house they
liked was a million more than they wanted to spend. And I said, well, make
the million look small. Well, she just loved that suggestion. It was only hours later I
get a book with a book cover and a book cover was making
a million look small. And I thought, that's a great idea. And then she phoned me back and she said, "I'd be, if get Gay
Hendricks, Mary Morris, yourself and myself and the
four of us run a seminar of teaching people, make
a million look small. And we did, we earned a million dollars. Well, that's the trick,
make a million look small. I think Peggy and Danny
learned it there in a house that looks more like a
hotel when I look at it, but it's big millions of dollars you see. Don't think a million is a
lot, a million is a little. Tell me 100,000, 10 times. I got a couple of friends that just earn over a million a month. The people you mix with have so much to do the way you think, mix with people that think
with big ideas, exciting ideas, positive creative ideas, go ahead Mykie. - [Mykie] Sorry about that, I think there was a
slight delay for a second. Okay, this next question. How do I really make this lockdown and quarantine period
productive and fruitful? - Well, I don't know how you do it. I don't even know how I'm doing it. I'm here in the studio
reading and studying and thinking how can I reach
more people all the time. Now that they said, do another call. So I'm doing another call
and I'll do another one in a couple of days. In fact, I was thinking I'm
going to teach something in a day or two. I'll teach something this Friday, I don't what, I was just think, no, I will put it out there. But I want to teach not just a Q and A. The bulk of the lesson
will be a teaching lesson and we'll still have some Q and A. I may get Sandy Gallagher on the call. I mean, the woman's brilliant
if we get her on here. What was your question
Mykie I've missed it? - [Mykie] How to stay
productive and fruitful during this time of quarantine? - Oh, yeah listen, stop and ask yourself what your goal is and then think, how can I best utilize this time and don't look for what's
wrong, think of what's right. Let me share something with you. I had a letter from dear friend of mine, Terry Eliot, she is a doctor in down Goodwin too. Where is it? She says, when you look for the good, you will surely find it. Traffic is gone, gas is affordable. Bills are extended, kids are
at home with their families. Parents are home taking
care of their children. Fast foods replaced by home cooked meals, hectic schedules replaced
by naps and nap, you know. The air seems cleaner
and the world quieter. People are conscious
about hygiene and health. Money doesn't seem to make
the world go round anymore. We now have time and finally
we have become closer to God and more evidently praising
God every day of our lives. It seems like this COVID-19 is
a reset button for humanity. Pray for our world leaders,
healthcare workers, law enforcement, the people,
the economy, and the decisions all of us people, Lord, we need you. I thought that was such a
great letter I got from her. This is the best, I don't know the best way
you can use your time. I know the best way I'm using mine. I just see a text on
there from my good friends Robert Pascuzzi, Kelly
and Robert Pascuzzi. I will use a bit of time to
call them when I get out of here because I haven't talked to
them for a couple of days. Listen, you sit and think, sit and think. Maybe think with another
thinker, a dear friend. Say, let's brainstorm, maybe
get three or four people and say, how can we best utilize our time? There may be something
you can do every day that you've never done in
the past that would multiply and that would grow and be very good. I'm getting into more creative things, I want to do more creative work. Time for a couple more. - [Mykie] All right, this next question, could you give me some strategies to keep my vibration high so I stopped being depressed
when bad things happen? - Well, first of all, play
hardball with yourself. Give yourself a damn good hit and a hit and say, wait a minute. Just 'cause something bad happened that doesn't make me bad, I'm good. I'm God's highest form of creation. I want you to write this down, write this down, write it down. I am so happy and grateful, write it down. I am so happy and grateful that I am God's highest form of creation. There never has been and there never will be another person created that will equal me. I love my life. I'm in control of my life because I'm in control of me. I know that whatever happens outside of me has no bearing on who I am. Read that a hundred times a day, write it a hundred times a day until you start to understand
that what's going on outside got nothing to do with who you are. Nothing to do with who you are. Get Maxwell Maltz book, order it, you can order it online. "Psycho-Cybernetics" he wrote it in 1960. "Psycho-Cybernetics" the
science of controlling communication on the
animal in some machines. It's a phenomenal book on self image. That's what you want. Mykie, I want to thank you. You are a jewel. Mykie came to work with us for achieves. She was just a very young girl. She's still a fairly young girl. Now she's a young lady now,
she was a young girl then. She had never worked in an office. She had no business experience at all. She was working as a nanny, not being treated properly by the people she was working for, but they were the ones
that delivered her to us. That was the good part
of a bad thing you see. I think your strongest quality, Mykie is your inquisitive,
Mykie's always wanting to learn how's this work, how's that work? How could we do this,
how could we do that? She was an assistant probably when she started. Today she's now the COO of the company and she's also the marketing director. And I say she's the attitude
barometer for the company. If you've got a bad attitude from Mykie, you can talk to her just about anything, talk about the weather and when you get off
you'll have a good attitude 'cause she's got such a good
attitude and it's contagious. I want to thank you for doing
a good job here at Mykie. And then I want to thank Scott, Scott Edwards, who's in
the control room here. This guy does such a phenomenal job and he makes me look good. I mean he just does everything so well. It looks like I'm doing it. I don't do that much of anything. I just got a tremendous
team of people around me. I really have a tremendous team of people. And I love them, I really love them. This is the greatest time
that we've ever lived. And I say that because
it's probably the worst. So what we want to do is
start looking for the good. There's something really great
going to come out of this. And let's say a prayer for the ones that, who are transitioning, so that they go to spirit and continue to study because that's what you're going
to do when you go to spirit. You're just going to continue to work. You're not that physical
body the one you live in it. And so when we go back to spirit, we continue to work same
as we're working here. Our purpose here is to do God's work. God's work is creation and
God's always for creation, for expansion and for recreation
to make things better. So we want to make things better. I want to thank everybody in our company. And we've got such a phenomenal
group in the company. And I look forward to our next here, I'm going to do something on Friday. We'll teach something on Friday I don't know what we going to
teach, but we'll teach something. Thank you, Mykie. Thank you, Scott, and thank all of you.
