enjoy the video [Music] good morning everybody welcome back to another video today my daughter Aries and I are in New York City in Manhattan and we're headed over to the diamond district we're actually gonna be scraping the sidewalks looking for diamonds and gold and stuff like that you've seen it in my other videos we're gonna try it here about ten or fifteen years ago I saw it on television a guy actually doing this so that's what we're doing I hope you guys enjoy it this is Paul here he's actually gonna be helping us scrape sidewalks here in the diamond district of New York City you know I asked for some help online and Paul showed up and we're gonna get out of here as soon as we can he already found a surface diamond 47 like two minutes you've got a diamond I do see it dude that thing is really sparkly that is Wow hopefully it's real dude it really does look real that wasn't even crevice thing that was just right on top we could just like where did you find it all right we're gonna go down to that spot we're gonna scrape some sidewalks oh yeah some good family time scraping sidewalks I appreciate you coming out man nice basically we're just gonna sweep this up [Music] so we got everybody working pretty hard here Aries hard at work and we got a bag of trash right here nice bag of trash Tootsie Roll and falls over here working hard thanks for showing up man this is awesome much appreciated so we just got a good little sample of sidewalk scratchings from this little area that's excellent quite a bit right there and we're gonna head up this way and get a little bit more and that should do it for New York City I mean I just I would like to scratch all these just a big project to plan this out I hate passing all this stuff up right here is actually a pair treasure this is where Heath on the surface diamond right here we're gonna go ahead and scratch all these [Music] yo wait a second camera all found a diamond right there that would be awesome if you could shine your light on it see that is totally I could see the shape of the diamond right there that is awesome man dude there's another one eat we're just seeing these on the surface Paul is a real good eye apparently this is awesome man playing on the sidewalk you'd never think we should show you there's treasure right under your feet sometimes [Music] you just gotta have no shame when you do this though it definitely helps with the social if you have any type of social anxiety this is going to cure it alright so we totally feel out of place and a weird here doing this through people people are walking by just like looking at us but I'm kind of used to it we actually got about a fifth of a bucketful I guess we're gonna keep going the Sun is starting to come out here in New York City on 47th Street it's going to keep scraping here hopefully we can find a couple more diamonds we already found three surface diamonds we didn't pick them out with tweezers we just threw them in the bucket we're gonna pan this out later and we'll be able to see what we got alright let's keep a little pathway because there's humanism [Music] a flashlight it just popped out of the hole look at this oh my god oh yeah look at that I could that's a picker that is a picker - whoo that is a big diamond man holy cow if it's even a diamond I mean I didn't think we were actually gonna like step find surface mines this is crazy you fucking gold I don't know let's see oh yeah dude no way it actually doesn't look like a piece of gold yeah we're just gonna throw these I mean this is like a $10 dive dude there's another diamond right there you can see it right here so we've got diamonds and gold in the side bucks this is crazy we're just gonna throw it right in the bucket you gotta use some jet dry for sure ridiculous Paul just spotted some gold here we think I mean that's totally it looks like a piece of gold let's see if we can get it out of here Paul's actually going to stay for like an hour after we leave just to do some extra prospecting here on the street but a little piece of gold right there awesome yeah we're continuing on we've been here for yeah about 40 minutes or so I think we're doing free we're doing some pretty good progress we don't want to stay too much longer it is a Saturday so the track that shouldn't be too crazy but I just don't want to have the stress of having to drive out of here I'll actually pick this up off the ground here looks like he said possibly gold jewelry take a look at in the bucket all right so we're just getting ready to get out of here we're getting the very last of it I found a coin that's a penny in this real deep crack here we have to actually go move the car we have like three minutes and we have to get out of here so we're gonna finish up thanks a lot for helping out man I really appreciate it man awesome dude we're gonna take this bucket up to Connecticut we're gonna strain it out and we'll see what's in it so I'll see up there all right we are in Connecticut and here we have our buckets of New York sched we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna classify this stuff down and we're gonna search the Plus for any kind of disgusting organic stuff cigarette butts human toes and other things also the big chunky pieces of gold jewelry if any and we're just basically going to go through everything with a fine-tooth comb and I hope you find some diamonds so let's do it all right here we go basically all we're gonna do we're gonna actually run this through the art of a fabricating classifier it's just a lot faster than messing around with the little dollar store strainer yeah this is this there's like hair and everything in it like if this stuff was dry we would have masks on it's a pretty much just and bust apart what my life is what I thought it was a toenail I don't want to be near this there's so much why get sick so much hair yeah see that ain't too bad oh my goodness that's a hair snake one of those New York hair snakes okay so we got all of the Plus arbor fabricating classifier plus quarter-inch stuff it's mostly like hair balls and disgusting stuff and it is yeah it's sched yeah it's sick so basically ripped apart all that hair and everything that was in there hoping everything would fall out we use the arbitrary caning classifier right now I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna pan this stuff out everything's in here Ella - we're gonna take this out with us and we're just going to find a dumpster somewhere or a trash can and throw it in there we don't want to take the worst of New York and bring it to the best of Connecticut so I've seen all kinds of stuff in here there's a little screw right there there's all kinds of things in so we are in the process of handing this stuff out and as you can see we have a big pile of random metal over here if there's any goal that's going to be in there I don't think it's whole gold it's probably a mixture of bits of metal from cars going by gold silver platinum stuff like that there's a little jewelry screw right there there's little bits of metal and stuff so we're actually gonna stop panning right now we're gonna start spinning this around and picking up the good stuff awesome and disgusting at the same time I can't think of a better description but this is really cool I'm not sure if they're gems or what but I see all kinds of stuff in here I'm not gonna film the whole process so if I find anything really interesting you'll see it but I mean this isn't the first one we just decided to drop the camera we're having so much fun going through this stuff but right here so right here is another diamond I mean this is like what how many do be fine for died at least right here's another diamond we're finding a weapon right I just had to grab the camera because we're having so much fun here but right there you might not be able to focus on that we're gonna take all that stuff back to the hotel we're gonna go through with everything I want to show you all these pieces of jewelry and everything in here I'm actually gonna leave that diamond right there I'm just gonna pan it back and show you guys all this gold and everything that's in there let me tap it up so watch when I spin this that's all gold jewelry pieces at the top look at that that's a gold earring right there like that was a gold earring piece is a gold chain right here look at that another diamond it's I mean look at it chunks of silver in here all kinds of gold chains but I'm just gonna wash this down look at this Jewellery screws gold pieces that is all mine that's all gold dust right there mostly gold dust I mean it's heavy in my hands that's how much gold is here there's a little actual look I found a gold chain that's still intact look at that right there a real thin piece of a cold chain we'll go through all this and get it like a final way up and estimation of value and all that that is awesome yeah all right so I'm back at the hotel and I've been going through this stuff from New York City here and it's pretty unbelievable things I found these two little vials here are actually full of like I mean this thing is heavy with gold and I'm pretty sure that this stuff is all just real fine gold because I'll explain to you why in just a second here but it's mostly gold and black sands it's really difficult to separate here in the hotel room but the reason I think it's gold is because it's staying right along with these gold pieces here that I found this is actually like a full gold earring right there and just bunches a little pieces a little gold chain right there there's even a few little gold links and stuff in here little pieces and all this stuff was staying at the top of the pen when I was panning it out along with this stuff here that's why I think this stuff is actually gold and if it is I mean I got like a half ounce here like I'm not even joking it's a lot you know that's like under estimating the actual way of that after I take the black sands out but we'll weigh it up for sure and I will probably process it with mercury just to get an exact weight and everything later on once you get back to Colorado here's some of the other things I found so here you can see like a little a little jewelry screw there was a bunch more that were actually rusted so the reason I'm holding on to this one is because I'm not sure if it's silver but do these small little spherical items a lot of them were not tarnished I just thought they were interesting to separate from everything else some of them look like they could be silver I don't think any of them are gold down here these are random gemstones I'm not really sure what they are they may just be little pieces of quartz but as you can see some of them are different colors this one here is actually blue and that one's actually cut so it's it's a faceted gem right there so is this one here I'm not sure what they are these are questionable metals that were heavier than a lot of stuff but I don't think they're gold including this little screw will jewelry screw and the thing that we are really looking for here these are diamonds I think it's possible at some of these are cubic zirconia we're going to make sure we're gonna get them tested and everything but some of them are pretty big I have two of them that are this size here I don't have a scale with me but we'll take them to a jeweler here in New Hampshire this one up here is probably the biggest one and then there's like two down here that are a little bit smaller and then a bone just Mullins and this one on the very end is actually a blue one you might be able to see that in the camera there that's a blue diamond I think I'll let you know what I find out about these as soon as possible this is really really cool all right we're at the mall we're gonna go ahead inside and see what these diamonds are worth I have everything in my pack they know I'm coming I'm not sure if they're gonna let me fill in though I have to get permission from the employee and then these are the diamonds that we actually found here let me just give you this strainer I'm just gonna dump these in so the teeny teeny teeny tiny ones I probably won't be able to get there's something blue 1/2 in there that diamonds all over me what a good problem to have so if it doesn't move at all that means it's most likely a cubic zirconia okay that's probably a cz or if they're yeah that was the biggest one too I was hoping that would be real did you find them on the same spot um all up and down 47th Street in New York City on the diamond district yeah so what we look for underneath the microscope is um imperfections in the diamond so carbon spots cloudiness feathers or air bubbles if you don't see any of those and most of the time it means that it is this cubic zirconia any walk on this one here definitely a cz so that one most likely it would be a diamond one's a diamond I mean that one's Risley maybe a diamond this is definitely a diamond you know that's a diamond I mean it's a bigger one mm-hmm all right yeah you got one five six six diamonds out of the deal one moissanite one moissanite and like six cubic zirconias we can do carat weight chances are they're not gonna be actually worth all that much something of this size like maybe a couple of dollars okay I'm back in Colorado and as you can see here I have a few different things laid out this and this are leftover stuff from New York City and the sidewalk cracks I went to to classify a little bit more and go over it you know much closer and I actually found about four more diamond like gemstones and going through it here I found another one here right there so that's the fourth one right there and I'm just slowly panning through this you know there's little bits of gold and silver and stuff in here as well but every so often I'm seeing another little diamond like gemstone and I'm just picking them out it's like a super challenging paydirt and also right here this is the gold like material that I was able to salvage that had in these two vials I just dumped it out and took a look at it in this vial I have like the little Pickers like the little gold earring and the little gold chain and a few other pieces of gold this is those four diamond like gemstones I do have a diamond tester I'm gonna go ahead and test those make sure they're real and while I do that I'm gonna take this stuff and I'm gonna throw it into my rock tumbler all of it and we're gonna process this stuff with some mercury the mercury will pick up any gold that's in there and we'll be able to get await on it so see you in a bit [Music] okay so after thoroughly going through all of my tailings from New York City I ended up with a whole bunch more stuff here you can see here I have about eleven more gemstones I looked at all these under the loop and they're all certainly cut like gemstones it's kind of difficult to do this but one of these is actually green and this one here this one here's like a green or yellow color I don't know if it's a green or yellow diamond this one's all black but it certainly cut like a gemstone I think this one's a blue sapphire here and then same thing with this one it might be like a lighter colored Zephyr I don't know but they aren't cut like gemstones I have a diamond tester I'm gonna see what I can do about tests and these ones and even this little yellow green one this is all the stuff that I actually picked out in New Hampshire all this stuff up top here's what I got out today I was just going through it that's definitely a lot of stuff there so I'm gonna dry this stuff out and weigh it up and I'm gonna test these to see if they are genuine or not [Music] Wow look at all that amalgamated gold right there usually the mercury just comes out as a blob and I put like ten drops of mercury and it's all completely amalgamated that is something I've never seen before holy cow okay so I've never had to deal with this much amalgamated mercury here I'm just gonna do a teaspoonful at a time or tablespoon whatever I'm just gonna pan this out like I normally would when I'm doing a regular pan all be amalgamated gold mercury it's gonna stay at the top there with the black sands and everything I'm gonna grab that with a snuffer bottle and then that's what we're gonna process yeah there you can see all that amalgam coming through that's all gold and mercury right there of course I'm gonna save these tailings and process them again in the future not for this video but at the end of the year or whenever I get like a five-gallon bucket full I'm gonna process everything one more time with rotary just to make sure I didn't miss any of the gold the tailings from that I actually sent off for recycling because that's going to contain trace amounts of mercury and we don't want to get this stuff back into the environment that's very important there's so much amalgam that won't even go in the slipper bottle good problem to have I don't think I've ever had that much gold in any of my pans ever okay so the next step is actually very dangerous I'm not even going to explain how to do it on this video because I don't want anybody else to do it I'm gonna go ahead and do it here so that is a crazy amount of gold amalgam right there all that stuff is actually going to turn gold hopefully I'm gonna go ahead and process it and we'll be right back okay so I did a test here on this gold right here is the melted down piece of gold that I was able to get so I think we have somewhere between 14 and 22 carat maybe like 18 karat gold the bottom one is platinum and that disappeared as well that means it's not platinum so we ended up with this ball of 18 karat gold let's weigh it up okay we have our scales zeroed out here 3.6 to 1 grams pretty nice that's pretty good let's go ahead and see what it's valued at on line here okay three point six to one grams of 18 karat gold surprisingly I thought it would be a lot less there was a lot of silver I thought and maybe platinum and other stuff mixed in with that but when I melted it down it comes up to 18 karat gold so let's go ahead and calculate here so for three point six to one grams it's a hundred and ten dollars and 98 cents today that is really really good I'm really happy with that I got this nice big chunk of gold that I got from New York City and there it goes thing is when you go to New York City one thing you should know if you go to New York City and you're scraping sidewalks and you get a bunch of this gold dust make sure that you melt it down first before you try bringing it to a jewelry store cuz they'll just look at you and probably turn you away they need to be able to scratch it out to test its purity so just keep that in mind little torch and a little crucible I'll leave links in the description to all that stuff if you're interested in buying that stuff but yeah 110 111 dollars not too bad for scraping sidewalks for an hour so if you ever come to New York and you're out of money just come down to 47th Street I'm serious you'll be set don't beg for money just scrape the sidewalks and you're you're said yeah and just bring them right into any any one of these shops don't pay it for them it's a good date to take someone up yeah yeah your girlfriend to love
