I think it’s fine. A little uninteresting, I definitely like Born For One Thing and Amazonia more.
I initially felt similar about much of Magma, but that album as a whole ended up growing on me a lot.
I like it.
So excited to hear the rest of this album. L'enfant Sauvage and From Mars to Sirius will always have a special place in my heart, but I am always excited to see what they put out.
I always feel a little eh about new music because I have such high expectations, but upon re-listening it really grows on me. So far, loved Another World and born for one thing, and this and Amazonia I like ok. I intend to relisten a bunch but am looking forward to the rest, too.
Gojira has brought me so much joy over my lifetime, I can’t be mad at them for making the music they want to make. I liked Magma, because it was a unique album in the way it was very accessible, could make them more popular than ever, and it still kicked ass at moments. But I had a feeling their next release would not be for me at all. And this pretty much confirms it. Thats okay, i have the first 15 years of their catalog to enjoy.
I can see this being my favourite of the singles so far after a few more listens. The first 56 secs reminds me of The Cell, which is a VERY good thing.
It's not bad I guess. It sounds like a band inspired by Gojira trying to write Gojira songs but not quite getting it.
Maybe this is the sacrificial lamb the band need to lay to rest before doing something imaginative next time around but this does not sound like a band riding high on inspiration and confidence, it sounds flat and mediocre with the odd nice drum beat here and there.
Not for me. Maybe I'm foolish for expecting more from these guys.

I liked the previous two singles but not feeling this one
This song's got a bit more bite in places than the others have, but also ends up being very melodic and almost sing-songy
It's hard to get a feel for this record based off the singles. I was apprehensive about Magma before it dropped for the same reason but was pleasantly surprised in the end
