[Music] [Music] all right hello my friends this video is sponsored by surefire they're awesome this is their scout light pro series which attaches to m lock or picatinny rails what this allows you to do is be able to pull this light up really really close so that you're not getting snagged or maybe have an ir laser you're able to just basically twist a flat head screwdriver and you can move this just about anywhere you want all the way around the rail or you can put on the left side so anyway sure fire is awesome i've been shooting them for a couple decades so i'm old and they're reliable with a long trusted name ah i feel old super old roll video hey guys stay tuned after the video for a sneak peek of the newest episode of war poet exclusively on wpsn all right hey guys i'm at governor's gun club up in kennesaw georgia and i'm with four of my good buddies here just enjoying patio some ambiance and i just had some time on the range i wanted to talk to you about the glock 48 i have a new one it's all sexied out it's beautiful we'll talk about it but first off i want to have a little bit of background information on kind of what i'm looking for now my hope here is you listen to my journey and you're able to make more informed decisions for you in the future regarding any subcompact that you may or may not want to carry it starts with my wonderful gun that i typically care if i'm at church or i'm with my family or i'm around big crowds i always have this this is our war poet pistol and i can slay with this i'm really good with this i love this gun it's awesome but sometimes i just don't feel like carrying in those instances like i'm having an office day you know of our doors are locked i'm either alone or i'm with company that i trust i'm usually carrying something that's small or a subcompact now for years i've been satisfied with glock 43 it's a good bit slimmer than something that's more of a compact or a full-size gun so it's more comfortable to carry i can put it on ankle i can basically feel like i'm not really carrying a gun the problem is is it's a six plus one that's not a lot and yes you can always get magazine extensions but as the handle gets longer and longer you have a printing issue it's harder to hide that you can no longer put it on an ankle for instance or if you carry appendix or in one of these traditional spots as it gets longer and longer i have a printing issue it'll still be thinner but usually when it comes to hiding a gun it has more to do with the length of the handle i was happy with the glock 43. until this little guy came out and wrecked me a bit this is the sig 365 and it's got a 10 round magazine with one in the pipe so you get four extra rounds and of course you can play the game where you get magazine extensions and you can give them more i'm trying to get flush fit magazines so i'm really comparing more apples to apples gaining an extra four rounds is a significant accomplishment and when you look at these two guns side by side they're extremely similar in size width and even length if you look at the handles i mean spookily similar however the sig which looks a tiny bit smaller it's about four rounds more holy smokes now i chose to champion on and say you know i really like grip angle i just don't want to change and one day i just put this gun on and i just carried it and i carried it for months it turns out despite what i was saying i really just couldn't get over ultimately the added round capacity i really like to be able to have more party favors to distribute if all things went sideways so i started carrying the sig 365 for quite a while a lot more rounds there's some grip angle issues that i wasn't pumped about but hey there was ammo capacity issues that i was similarly not pumped about now enter the glock 48. [Music] so now originally i didn't warm up to the glock 48 or the 43x it has a longer barrel and it has a longer handle by the way guys they don't come all sexied up like this someone else did this work did a fantastic job i'm just letting you know and they also put the uh this optic on lots of customization went to this gun so really i just want you to look at the size of it obviously it is longer when we put these two together like so you can see the length is absolutely longer on the handle and on the muzzle they seem to be they look at least like they're about the same width now when you take the glock 48 and you use these special shield magazines shield they're by shield arms you can put a 15 round magazine in what's supposed to be considered a sub-compact gun holy smokes that's a whole lot of ammo and now i get to get back to that good old-fashioned glock angle that i happen to dig a problem with it of course is is that the handle length and now you look this is my full size war poet pistol when put side by side look the handles are about the same length the muzzles are about the same length as well the only thing that's really changing is is the width of the gun it's thinner which means it's more comfortable to conceal i really do like this gun a lot war poet usually carries the day if i have to put something on an ankle it's something like that i don't carry ankle a lot i keep mentioning it like it's something i do all the time it's every once in a while where i'm all dressed to the nines or something and i put it on an ankle because there's not really anywhere else to or i just really really really don't want to carry for whatever reason that day maybe i'm feeling bloated that doesn't happen but weird things to say i don't know i just reserve the right to put a gun on an ankle if i choose to anyway this glock 48 has grown on me and what i was really interested in as well is being able to take a subcompact gun something that was thinner it was more comfortable and being able to put an optic on i believe that red dots on pistols is the future for professional pistol application these things are awesome there's also a lot of negatives so if you're all of a sudden just kind of like i want to put a red dot on a pistol but you don't have a meticulous presentation with a very firm number one two and three it's extremely easy to present one of these guns not see your red dot and what you love at first after playing with it on the range you'll end up hating it so just understand that getting into red dots especially when guns are a little bit more hobby for you rather than profession it can be really cool in some ways and then you'll and then you'll hate it in other ways so it's just a warning i've got videos on red dots on pistols but i wanted you to check it out so this is really just crafting to my wants my needs i want to be able to threat focus in a fight which means a red dot is my jam and i really love it now some things that i like and dislike about it so i make a bit of a pros and cons list for you regarding the glock 48 and specifically this setup number one is something that i really don't like though the shield magazine allows you to have 15 rounds and if i put a bumper plate on it an additional five so 15 and 20. i'm carrying 35 rounds wow that's pretty awesome 35 bullets but this setup by shield arms when they add the bumper it's like 75 bucks and i forget what these are like 35 something ridiculous it's extremely expensive it's like buying a sig mag it's absolutely outrageous i don't like that my old glock 43 mags which i have hoarded and i have quite a stash don't work with my 48 that really upsets me but here i am obviously i've gotten over it to some degree but i don't like that now for something i do like it is slimmer just like the traditional glock 43 or sig 365 it is slimmer and it has a noticeable difference in comfort when you're wearing it a thing i dislike it's not too much unlike carrying my compact war poet pistol same length of handle same length of muzzle it's kind of like really come on if you're stacking more rounds in lengthening the handle seems a little bit like cheating last thing and i know i'm being relatively negative is it didn't come with this optic cut it had to be cut with the optic and then my favorite 507k we have these on our website by the way oh well you can't get any you can't get any of the guns right now or any of the optics everything's sold out because of corona stuff at the time of making this video so sorry everyone's watching this and be like i'd love to buy something but i can't because everything's falling to pieces so one day when we're not living in a dystopian future guns and ammo are available again you can get all this stuff but right now my favorite miniature red dot is the hollison 507k really really love this optic but it's not directly compatible with a glock 48 either you have to be able to basically file down some of the lugs that come on this so that it'll be able to fit that the person that i got this from was actually a student fun story time with john i was out in colorado teaching some tactical pistol and rifle classes and there was a student caleb he became my buddy in class and he was shooting this gun and i'm like dude that's pretty cool and i was eyeing it for a couple days until later into the course progression on another day i'm like dude will you sell me that gun and you know i was kind of playing but i kind of wasn't because i like guns and stuff and he countered me on the very next day of classes and said how about i trade you for your war poet pistol and that really upset me and i'm like oh and i walked away from it i'm like i wasn't going to do it but then i'm kind of like i bet i could get another war poet pistol like tomorrow so i made a call i got i ordered another war poet pistol and then i traded him for his 48 which he put a lot of work into i instantaneously loved it i can rock this gun i can shoot this fast and accurate and that makes me feel pretty darn excited so anyway i took it off a student he also made youtube videos and stuff i'm going to provide a link to I got sucked into the 365 as well. Its stupid how easy it is to conceal. Kinda wish the 43x didn't have such a long grip, makes it hard for me to conceal in the AIWB unless I set it up for cross draw.

Also wondering why Shield Arms can't make a 10rd for the 43... did they use all their magical secrets on the 43x?
