i'm about it and have liked all the new singles, but I feel like the reaction to this will be mixed. a touch repetitive
I have enjoyed these singles but Dave seems to be falling in the trap of breaking down and building up two thirds into the song that doesn't lead to anything but another chorus. Not wavey enough for me.
I'm a big Glass Animals fan and would rate How To Be A Human Being as one of my all time favourite albums.
I definitely wasn't expecting HTBAHB pt2, but I'm honestly gutted I'm not really getting into this new sound. Out of the 4 singles, I've only really liked Dreamland and maybe Your Love at a stretch. Heat Waves hasn't gripped me but could well be a grower.
I'm really hoping it becomes a case of appreciating the tracks in the context of the full album...
This is definitely a song that's best driving with friends, live, or any time when you don't really pay too much attention to it and jam. Instrumental is great imo, much more interesting than dreamland was imo. Your Love and Tokyo Drifting are FAR better, but that's a very high bar.
"When everyone was leaning out of their windows filming, I felt that same sense of togetherness and spine-tingling energy that happened at live shows. It made the coldness of performing to an empty room with the band stuck on screens feel even more heart-breaking"
Anyone else wanna go cry now?
This bangs but I did think it was going to build up to something more than another chorus. Canβt argue with anyone critiquing it about being too repetitive. Still a solid one in my books though.
This sounds tailor made for a car advert.
Its still good but its missing something.
This feels really bland compared to their past two albums; Iβm to get a little concerned about the album at this point. Your Love is a phenomenal track, but Dreamland and now this both feel like they just donβt go anywhere. It almost resembles Foster the People in the way their third album lost a lot of the interesting interesting sounds from the past and just sort of felt generically βindie popβ.
Snail mail sure sounds different
