giving myself a total makeover for 2021 *I bleached my hair*

hi hey guys it's blake welcome to this video today we're doing a big transformation this video was filmed like the second day of january um but a lot's happened since then that prolonged me editing this video so it's been so long since i filmed this video that my hair color is already different so i'm just trying to hide it i don't want to give it away um but i'm currently setting my new hair color i just did it the other day so you'll have to stay tuned for that i hope you guys enjoy this video here we go transformation time [Music] my hair needs to be touched up badly i do not like how grown out roots look so i'm going to be coloring my hair i'm going to be doing lots of maintenance work you know nails pedicure eye lashes and stuff getting ready putting on an outfit and yeah so here is my new growth that i'm going to be lifting i got like over an inch and this is what my hair looks like before it is so dry okay but anyways i'm just pre-sectioning my hair and detangling it so it can be easy to go through when i'm applying the lightener and i'm sectioning it so it's just in you know manageable sizes and i don't and i know i'm getting every part of my hair lifted seven sections and i'm gonna be doing the front and then the back separately so i just did a test stretch to see what the color was gonna look like on my previously colored hair and then i went ahead and did the front it's looking very intense [Music] honestly i can't wait to do this but finish the front half and some of the some conditioner sitting in it until i do the rest of the after treatments after i do the back it doesn't look bad the front got super light like this is so blonde oh on camera it doesn't really look that bad but inside my roots i didn't want the roots to get like too light but i can see i missed some parts but that's fine honestly because i wanted it to be a gradient also i don't know what color i'm gonna do i didn't know if i wanted to do another orange and color or if i wanted to uh go brown i think i'm gonna go back brown so i'm gonna cancel out this orange with kind of like a blue or violet um to neutralize it i don't know i don't know if i should stay ginger like gingery just a brighter version of what i had before i don't know we'll see so here's what i did in case any of you are taking tips from this video i'm back for the back half i have a mixing bowl so i'm gonna be doing two ounces of lightener with four ounces of developer and then two bottles of the ion absolute perfection booster which you put in and it's supposed to help you know not damage as much i use this clairol professionals 1 30 volume but i don't have any more and they didn't have anymore sally so i got ion and i also have l'oreal and then for lightener i'm using the clairol professionals kaleidoscope on all hair clear eyes i have about an inch a little bit over an inch of new growth so i have i'm applying it from like my entire mid shaft i already like that was my test piece in the back mid shaft to the ends all around and then go back and do my ends and then go back and do the roots so i will have all the products linked in the description box but basically i followed the directions that were on the boxes and the packaging of the products that i was using one vial of the booster drops to every two ounces so i did two of the boosters per bowl that i mixed i think that's the correct math because it says you add one vial to every two ounces of mixture and i did four ounces of powder and two ounces of developer so i don't know if you just count the developer or the powder or if that makes six ounces of read it carefully and do what you think is best i used four bowls of mixture on my entire head so that was i mixed double the amount and then i did four bowls of that my head is big i did prep two bowls but i only mix a bowl at a time to keep the bleach fresh i heard you're supposed to do it only when you're about to use it so i didn't want it to be sitting so i just did one bowl at a time but i prepped the mixtures [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so i just rinsed um all the liner out and just so my hair didn't feel like straw i shampooed and conditioned with these little iron things well the conditioner made it feel even worse i mean the shampoo made it feel even worse but the conditioner like now my hair feels like so soft and good so i'm gonna let my hair air dry for a little bit happy about that the front light and well the roots in the back not so much i didn't work fast enough on the back because i couldn't really see but that's fine you can just get done in the next time but yeah this is the color that i've got right now it's not the final color but just my lighting color i'm back so the next i'm going to do is a little treatment and then i'm using the curl smith strength recipe bomb curl rehab soft bonding treatment for weak damaged hair it's basically like a protein treatment so i think that's really important to do right now since i just broke down all of my hair so i'm just gonna apply it like it says hey siri set a timer for 30 minutes i know it looks like i'm giving very like very orange very ramen noodle but it got too late to go to the store to pick out the color that i wanted because i didn't know how this was gonna turn out so i wanted to make sure i got the right color so i'll be going tomorrow i'm still going to be depositing the color on top so this is not the final form but i am really happy with how light it got and compared to the pictures that i'm going for i'm right there like i think it's pretty much it i'm going for you know like the skin tone so it's lifted high enough so i can bring it back down because right now it's a little bit lighter than my skin tone so i'm going to be like you know my skin tone i'm gonna let this sit rinse out my hair and um do some more styling and de-conditioning and stuff like that so yeah that's pretty much it for the night i was able to get it all done happy about that so i'll see you guys at the next step so here we are i'm cutting my hair at this point i'm very iffy on this process as you can see my hair just looks so wild and i was very very nervous i thought my thoughts are just not good right now um but i thought that if i just went ahead and cut it right now um it might make me feel better i was gonna cut it anyways that was the plan um but i just couldn't wait to put the color on i just needed to do it right now and my hair was in the right state like i didn't have any product or anything on it so i'm just cutting myself some bangs and trying to make it flow giving myself a little bit more layers so it sits better in an afro shape and this is how much hair that i cut off it wasn't that much at all hello it's day two well the end of day two so working on the color today last night i cut my hair and i'm feeling like i'm ruining my hair like literally ruining it like i don't know we'll just have to see i'm trying to trust the process um so i'll get into that later but i bought the color today i got some like neutral browns to cancel out some of the orange i'm still looking for a warmer tone but i'm not going for orange i'm going for more brown hopefully it works i'm not gonna lie i was really excited about the new color but now i'm like i kind of just want my regular hair back my hair has changed a lot it's like super high porosity now so i'm hoping but i've been dealing with it a whole day without finishing it off like no not not putting not filling in the strands with anything so i'm thinking after i fill it in with some color it'll get a little bit better i don't know the color is just a little i don't know i'm just feeling real iffy this process is kind of giving me a little anxiety i'm getting a little scared um because you know hair is my favorite thing but yeah so i just co-washed my hair and i'm gonna detangle a little bit and apply the color see how it turns out and then i'm gonna deep condition it and style it out i think i'm gonna do a perm rod set so that's what we're looking like it's like night time what time is it oh it's late it's eight o'clock it's nice to be doing my hair but i'm at least gonna put the color on at least gonna put the color on so let's get to it here are the colors that i used i used five bottles of this clairol professional beautiful collection moisturizing color it's a semi-permanent color so i was looking to kind of cancel out some of that orange so i did three bottles of champagne and you see here it says it's a level seven and it's base neutral so i was just looking for toning more so than color so that's why it's level seven because i wanted to keep the lightness but i just wanted to cancel out some of the orange and then neutral tones in that and this color did that um but then i also wanted to add some of a brown color so i went in with this honey brown which is a level four base gold so i still went with a warmer tone and i looked it up and you can mix warm and neutral or cool on neutral but don't mix warm and cool colors because that's gonna clash that they don't mix properly so five bottles more champagne and honey brown um i'm filming this weeks after i've done this my hair color is already different now um but the co the shades are great so like a honey brown color champagne name color was great but this specific color semi-permanent color um on the back it says that it's for relaxed hair i mean i've used this on my relaxed hair my mom recommends this for her relaxed hair um and i didn't think it really made a difference but it faded very quickly it's very temporary and i think that's just because it is for relaxed hair you can do it i think the same day you get a relaxer which means it's not as harsh it's not as permanent so um if you are putting on your relaxed hair you know it's not too damaging after you've already chemically processed your hair but yeah for me i did just color my hair so that was fine but it just faded quickly and so i would have needed to redo this whole process so if i did it again and wanted the same color i would find similar colors in a different brand um like a door or kiss or something like that try a different brand but these colors did work and i really liked the color that it came out very beautiful color as you guys will see [Music] i'm having my second match of the day so the caffeine is kicking i had a raspberry one this morning this is the salted caramel i put like the syrup flavored shirts in it so good it's like i love matcha now but anyways i also made salad i just finished making salad and i had lunch falafel salad love it my dad makes it falafel and the salad dressing but i made the salad and put that on top love it so it's 12 30 i just came back for my appointments i got my nails done i mean um i got my toes done pink oh let me see if i can show you dark pink so that starts off the maintenance i color okay let me just okay i colored my hair yesterday um and hopefully like future me just already inserted like an explanation so i don't have to go and do it again um while i'm editing it i did that uh but i don't know if i could tell yesterday i was really i was getting sad because i thought i had really messed up my hair and it was going to be terrible granted it kind of looks the same but i think it's a little toned but it's definitely like blonde like it's definitely blonde the roots are like the roots are darker but then it's like this little part that's a little bit lighter but the ends like the mixture to the end is kind of the same color so we'll just have to see what it looks like when it's styled but this morning i went ahead and rin i slept with deep conditioner because i was too tired to finish my hair last night so i moisturized and sealed my hair i have a whole new i'm having to work a whole new routine now that my hair is porous very very porous um i would say before i colored my hair ever it was low price it was on the lower end of the porosity i don't know i never really did the test and for some reason i just don't want to but um after i colored my hair from the brown i would say it might have been i feel like it was still low it might have been just be like in a normal range but now it's very porous and that was really scaring me because for the day that i didn't have i hadn't finished my hair i hadn't finished putting the color on it was just bleached hair and it was very open and it was getting wet really fast it was getting dry in two seconds and i was just like um but i put the color in i i did protein treatments and bonding treatments and everything like that but i put the color in a deep condition and it's back to feeling somewhat like something that i know so that was a relief and i think after i style it i'll fall in love with it um yeah but i was having regrets yeah yeah yeah okay so i'm gonna be doing my eyebrows my lashes doing my hair i think i'm gonna do a perm rod set so my hair is ready to be styled i'm going to do my nails i want to do something that matches my toes like a darker pink in color but i want to do like a reptile skin nail kind of i'm so excited to be done definitely um i should have done this last month like december so i could go into january already feeling good but it's okay i feel good so yeah i'm gonna start with my eyebrows i'm not going to bleach them or anything like that that's just too much work and who's gonna keep up with that [Music] i have a whole magnifying mirror i'm sitting here struggling with the light oh my god [Music] back the eyebrows i filled them in with the pencil that i just got from morphe it's in the shade java so it wasn't the darkest shade i remember so i think it looks really good i just um use the elf wow wow brow thing that i like it's like a tinted brow gel and then i just um filled in a little bit in the front right here to make the line like appear straighter because like it's sparse right there so it doesn't look as defined so this would be my brow like at any time so i like it cleaned them up they ended up being like a little straighter on accident but i like it it's like a little bit more lifted so now i'm doing lashes i'm doing my individual ones i have these and these so i just want to use them up normally i like trios but i didn't feel like buying them so i'm using the i couldn't find trios and the longleaf that's really the problem so i have these individual ones in long and these are from amazon and i did just get some new glue i got the glue for individual lashes so i wouldn't have to use the hair glue that i normally use for strip lashes and this is sometimes i feel like it's a little chunky i thought this might be less chunky and they would last even though i used a hair glue it lasts too but anyways uh so i got the black and i got the remover because i've gotten lash glue and not gotten the remover and i was in pain trying to take them off i had to take i had to go buy the remover [Music] ah cute subtle i haven't done the single individuals in a long time so i forgot how they like looked but they look so much more cleaner than the trios or maybe it's just because i used the actual glue mat for these and not my thick hair glue that could be it too so yes i love them this is cute i was kind of getting tired depending on strip lashes so time for hair [Music] [Music] so we're at the final stage of this video honestly i don't know if this video turned out well i can't i didn't go as planned and took a little bit longer and um this week kind of had a lot of unexpected things which is normal so hopefully it turns out good i've wanted to scrap this video twice now so i'm but i'm gonna finish it at least try to edit it and see the end so um i'm ready to get ready today's friday i started this on sunday today's friday and i'm just gonna put on some makeup finally do my hair i took it down last night just so it wouldn't be like day one today and um yeah i cut my bangs so they are very bang and i really like them like i really like having not having to use a bobby pin and the shape i kind of shaped it i really like it so we're going to see how it turns out i did my nails yesterday i didn't film it because i was i'm going to make a video on my nail channel so i was going to upload the video on my nail channel so i didn't film it for this video but i did my nails yesterday and it's just a set of press-ons but i did um some like what is this reptile skin i wanted to do like actual reptile nails where i like hand draw it but i was feeling it so i just did the foil so i didn't take that long at all i guess i'm also i'm going to reopen my nail stuff but i'm going to do it a little bit differently last time i um created the designs and then made them to order but this time i'm just gonna like make a lot make different stuff different sizes and upload those and it'll be just like already made in the size and whatever is there is there like however many i make is however many there is so yeah but let me know if you would like something like this like just it's very simple like i feel like i didn't do much to do it it was really easy but just like textures and designs like that they're very simple but colorful so i tried to match my toes i did the toes dark pink so that's that last weekend i got some new makeup from ulta and sephora and i also got a new nose thing because mine has fallen out so actually let me see i always i'm so hesitant to buy um no stuff online i just am so indecisive so i always just end up um getting something from the beauty supply but i am going to buy something online so i can like share it with y'all because i always just say i got it from the beauty supply and that does y'all no good i'm gonna do the stuff right now because my nose i don't know if i'm gonna be able to put the hoop in but okay so let's get into this makeup i got the new fenty face powder i think i got a shade too dark so we're gonna have to see i got a new eyebrow pencil morphe brow pencil i got a lip thing from too faced i've got an elf eyeshadow these always look so cute so i decided to get one maybe i'll do more eye looks since we have to wear mask and lips don't really matter um oh i got the fancy concealer i forgot oh my gosh and i got oh my gosh i'm excited i forgot all the stuff that i got i got a the cream blush so doing lots of cream before powder and then i got a eyeshadow palette from huda and then i had some points so i got this glow recipe watermelon glow sleeping mask oh i could have used this and then i got the belief moisturizer so i'll use those a different day because i already did my skincare and stuff um what did i do i put on sunscreen and oil and everything so yeah i don't really need this in the glow recipe okay so i'm just gonna prime my face with the smashbox oil control i don't know yeah i'm just going to go ahead and do kind of like a get ready with me style just in case like i feel like this video might be kind of like there's not nothing because i got so frustrated with my hair and i was like so scared uh i didn't really film much but still probably do lots of explaining what the voice over or something but my eyelashes are holding up so well like the day i did them i cried later that day and they stayed on the glue is supposed to be waterproof i think so um normally when i use my hair glue it gets tacky again when it gets wet and you have to like make sure you don't mess with them or else they'll come off so i like this glue better i also got the lip injection thing from too faced i just i just was like ooh makeup i just felt like buying makeup so i'm gonna put some of this on right now i tried it it's the burns not that bad it feels like if you ate something really spicy and you got it on your lips like um like very spicy and you got it on your lips and also it's not immediate it takes a minute for it to start like tingling but i'm very used to that spicy feeling because i love spicy food so i kind of live for that feeling all right use that use that so i've got concealer i usually always go in first concealer i only use elf which i just i was just in the mood to like try new makeup that's why i got this but i would definitely stay stick with elf i also think i don't know if i got the right shade in this so i was going to compare pretty good i like the shade deep cinnamon from the elf um satin finish concealer oh yeah oh my gosh they're the exact same you can hardly tell the difference this one is a slightly more warmer i like a shade like this that's closer to my skin tone because i can use it all over my face and then my powder that i set my concealer with my under eye concealer with is light so it still brightens up cool i like the way this feels so far so oh man i didn't wet my beauty blender hmm i like that okay and then i'm gonna do some cream bronzer okay so now i'm going to try the the cream blush this is the cheeks out freestyle cream blush i got the shade daiquiri dip it's like an orangey shade i kind of like like orangey red blushes but then i also kind of like pink ones but i kind of wanted to do something different so i use either use something like this which is very light so it's more everyday or something like this and this one is like this so it's pretty bright but since it's cream and i'm gonna put it under my all my other stuff i thought that it would be because it's gonna work out i'm just gonna use my finger i like it i like it it's super bright but not on my skin it looks really nice so now i'm going to set with my normal face um under eye powder this one and i'm going to try standing with a brush i do this sometimes i usually set with my beauty blender but i've been seeing this technique again i'm like oh i'll try this i do i used to do it sometimes and since this concealer is more full coverage i figured it could work whereas when i use like elf oh it just depends on the look but the elephant isn't as covered as this one oh now that it might be better i had this light on normally i would do under eye set my face and then my um bronzer so yeah so i got the shade 440 and i tried it with this i'm just going to use it as a like a finishing powder like i normally do my mac i usually use mac skin finish but it's all gone like i'm it's gone so i'm gonna try and oh these shades aren't that much different i'm gonna try using it like that more as a finishing powder not so much as a foundation because i don't really wear foundation so let's see i see it i like it i thought it would be too dark you know it looks good now with this i could like keep putting it on and build covers whereas with the skin finish it was just kind of a finish you know it wasn't supposed to be buildable i don't think oh i like it and i let the cream blush like i can still see it oh this is perfect this is perfect since i don't really care to wear a full foundation um it just feels too heavy for me now like i used to like it but now i don't and this is like nice it's funny because my mom tried to start me out when i wanted to wear foundation with a powder but i was like not going for it i wanted to do liquid like i had seen in the videos the only thing i don't like about setting with my brush is that i usually miss like the very inner corner oh wait no then i have this the pro no what is this called sun stalker mo and mocha mommy this is the bronzer that i've been using i really like this shade so i'm just gonna finish everything off with this just like a little bit more color all right so now i'm going to do my eyebrows and i like to use i did have this elf eyebrow pencil but the color just didn't show up like it's very dry so like i'm wiping it on my skin and there it goes this one was very dry i know i figured morphe would be more pigmented because her lip liners are their lip liners are like more creamy so and it's very small so i like to use the elf while brow and then i tried this already the morphe mica micro brow pencil in javascript [Applause] [Music] this is the eyeshadow palette that i got i'm not much of an eyeshadow wear anymore but that's because most of my palettes are like huge so i thought if i got like something like this i'm doing more um yeah i probably won't do this today we'll save that um mascara mascara a little bit this is the lip liner i'm using bar by morphe and then i'm gonna use this bite lip gloss in cinnamon twist so now i'm going to go ahead and work on my hair um i did the permanent set and i did twist the roots so i stretch those with the blow dryer a little bit on warmer heat i'm trying to use less heat can you guys believe it um now that i've like loose my hair again i don't want to use as much heat and i don't think it's going to be a good idea if i do use the same amount of heat that i used to use so lots of know he looks this year but um so yeah i did stretch the roots and then i stretched them overnight but i think i'm gonna do like an in-depth permanent set video because i think i got it down like i had it done before but i think i really got it down a little bit better so like in term and show like all the stretching and all of that so yeah but now i'm just gonna work on my hair this is what it looks like the color my mom held up a thing of honey and she said i was like honey um different lights it's very like i would say i feel like cinnamon might be a little darker than this honey blonde sometimes it's kind it has that warm because i did have like a red orange color so it's kind of like strawberry blondish um gingery honey blonde something like that so i'm just gonna pick it and fluff it and stuff and um [Music] so so yeah here's the final looks i had somewhere to go this day and i didn't get to get like a proper outro with everything but this is how my hair looked and my makeup looked i ended up having to do a little bit heavier look because i just felt very washed out i guess with the hair color this is the final look and i just put on some clothes to leave the house you know a little flannel jacket in my bag and stuff this was like day five hair so i hope you guys enjoyed this video let me know what you think and i'll see y'all in the next one [Music] bye
