Girl Gets Ocean-Themed Room Makeover! | Get Out Of My Room

I'm 10 years old I like playing ukuleles this is our room it's really tight in here it's so cramped in here we bump into each other and then no one can get their stuff when I open my draw she tries to get in now we get an argument like I can't get in what do you think about the colors we painted the room pink and purple because I loved purple and she loved pink at the time but now it's time yeah I like blue and she's purple what purple needs to like step up its game okay Sofia cleaned up the room now it's time to talk a little design what do you think Nicole would like in her room well she wants a room that feels like she's under the seat with a bunch of underwater creatures what else she also wants a bed that's close to the ground with storage what if we make her an adventuress bed in the shape of a boat let's also get her a coral reef on the wall and even a jellyfish lamp I have a great plan for a lamp that will make all your friends jelly should we get to work let's do it we're diving right into making a closed room an undersea utopia we're painting three walls a deep ocean blue and for the fourth wall we're adding a big mural of a coral reef we're also using pool noodles to make seaweed by scoring the noodles with a razor blade then melting them with a heat gun in two different shapes well that's so cool [Music] okay your sister Nicole wants an aquatic theme right yes I thought it would be really fun to make her her very own custom boat bed I think she'll love it I've already made the framing for the boat that we're gonna be creating right now we're cutting out the facing of this six foot by four foot piece of plywood so I have one side already prepared boom all we're doing is tracing and cutting off the other side are you ready to set sail sir I'm ready ahoy mateys does everybody get the pencil and now we're gonna trace but we're gonna all meet in the same place until this whole entire thing is traced Oh your marks get set and go I'll pick up where you stopped thank you awesome work guys all right yeah that's pretty fast what are we gonna cut this with yeah a jigsaw if you're navigating around these little corners you don't want a huge saw there's a tiny blade here and that tiny blade helps you get around all the little corners and crevices first we're gonna drill a hole to make a starting point for the saw this piece is pretty big I think we should tackle it together right alright let's flip it up you see it now this is gonna be the side of the book I can totally see the boat in this I know she's gonna love it let's take this to the bow we're gonna make this boat awesome wait Jamie J and Sophia are hard at work assembling her new boat bed alright they're painting it a bright blue all we have left is some painting and some sanding and then your sister Nicole is gonna be sailing away into her dreams Sofia sticking with your sister's aquatic theme for her room we're making her a jellyfish lamp we're not giving her just one jellyfish we're giving our whole school of jellyfish how we're gonna do this we're going to use a technique called decoupage so what's decoupage it's the art of pasting cutouts to an object we are gonna use paper lanterns blue mixed with 50% water tissue paper hot glue and ribbons so what's the first step cutting out different shapes of tissue paper doesn't have to be perfect best thing about jellyfish is that they're all weird and wonderful now that we've cut out enough pieces we are gonna start adding our decoupage glue nice and goopy and then I'm gonna take the piece of paper and really work it in there you try Nicole really likes the blues and like the teal colors [Music] here we go next step we are going to add the tentacles so once you get some ribbon cut we have the hot glue guns here and add a little drop of glue and then attach it to the bottom of your jellyfish how do they look good beautiful you guys are jellyfish pros they're a little bit I think they're a little exciting yeah well I think they're about ready to see the rhythms let's go your sister worked so hard and came up with so many ideas to make your room special you ready to see it yes I am yes Lee is at your new room [Music] we painted your walls blue and turn this room into a whole underwater world you have so many things in here that you wanted jellyfish dolphins a picture of me of course a picture of your sister did you see the whole mural of the ocean on your this is boat Nicole oh really yeah that's right we named it you have your very own dock and your very own boat just it up is the boat city I think wait yeah we had to have all hands on deck for this boat bed your sister your dad and Claire would cut out pieces using a jigsaw it was fun yeah we added more storage by putting drawers under your dock all this drawers yeah for extra storage in the ocean what are those we made you your very own seaweed will you took pool noodles and cut them in half and then we use the heat gun to make the holes open more and then we added twinkle lights to make them glow yeah I love this you want a jellyfish so we made you custom jellyfish lanterns that's the one your sister made that's the best one do
