GIRL CHAT: A Special Shout-Out to Single Moms

[Applause] credible day first and foremost say what's up to our guest co-host the lovely the talented and the always fashionable miss Kelly Osbourne yeah beautiful to Dana's are you I love that they're like this thank you my heart is like dancing so hard I feel you Kelly you should have a good dance right there down the step okay I consider my cardio for the day now okay now to get the gym because I mean one thing about you ladies let's get real about this well how many of you actually know the words to your own song oh but I still sing the version no break i watch only beautiful week it's your last day do you know the words yeah in my mind as I let me get down that all so I just kind of mouth what Jean he's doing like people time it is what I mean it's time for girl chat this is going to be a great day because first up this Sunday May 14th is Mother's Day wanna give a shout out to all the hard-working and dedicated mothers out there we especially want to give a special shout out to the single mothers in fact our entire wait a minute I heard some of y'all out there are very pregnant you look like something y'all could be ready to burst at any moment so we'll be checking on y'all during the show and we have our fire chief here also that just in case don't worry I got you covered okay and then I remember a few tricks about delivery too so don't worry we gotcha Covered of single moms I was raised by single mom so I know how much work it goes into raising a child or children of your own in fact the Huffington Post wrote an article listing the 7 things you should totally say to a single mom now let me see you single ladies you can see you single moms agree with me okay tell everybody this first one your hair looks great what your kid is going to be proud of you another one of course it's okay to leave him or her with a babysitter [Applause] it's also totally okay if you didn't really miss your baby too much this is a nice one I really like a family is a family no matter who the major players here's number six you are enough but not for all the single moms you are okay but what do you all respect the most about single moms these days oh man it's incredible to recognize how much work really goes into being a mom because you never get days off you never get somebody's advice or assistance you really just have to kind of answer things in the middle of the night on your own you guys don't get enough credit I don't think people appreciate you enough and that's why we tried it my firstborn Aidan I was like man this is hard I remember in my room post-delivery thinking of you single moms because if it's hard for me and I have a partner I could only imagine what you guys go through and then also this is what I've learned about you guys you guys are warriors no matter what you do what you got to do that weapon that [Music] this Mother's Day gift it might be a simple like giving her peace and quiet how about that job Stephanie laughing deep groan okay we got people who agree here she wrote an article for read book called why I don't want to spend Mother's Day with my kids Stephanie says that most mothers just want free time on Mother's Day meaning she feels that moms should take back ownership of the holiday that's been filled with obligations like lunches and family outings instead she says she's like - what Tim wants to do sleep in go to the beach read a book while sipping Chardonnay nice but Tam as our resident mom I want to ask you first is the best Mother's Day gift a break from Eden and all riots they know you work a lot ain't always good to see them yeah I think it depends on the mom I mean I can understand why some moms want a day to themselves especially like stay-at-home moms because you never ever ever get a break I was a stay-at-home mom for about just eight months and I was like oh no I can't do this um but for me I mean it's no secret how much I love my children so I would like a balance I would like to sleep in until noon I know that'll never happen but I'm just putting that out yeah imagine the simple things like even a great nice bath light a candle getting your bathtub a bubble bath - some Immunization I don't want him to come back though yeah wouldn't want them to be out all day no because I'm I'm uh I'm gonna oughta - what no but I'm happy mom so I really want to spend that time with Loni with my family yeah well Jen what if you did a brunch with them and then they send you off to the spa beautiful brunch y'all wouldn't mind if they just took him for 24 hours [Applause] surveying Wakefield research for Chico found that 85% of new millennial moms would rather receive acknowledgement from family and friends that they're doing a good job instead of flowers now I know we all love our moms very much at this table so I thought it would be nice to acknowledge them right now so we'll go around the table and each share a favorite or special moment we had with our moms that really meant a lot to us so I'm gonna go first I'm gonna try not to cry okay so sweet um oh I know damn it um okay a moment that I will never ever forget now that I'm a mom I know damn it sorry can I start over again I know but I'm always crying how does that mean you weaken me a video teaching track to try put your head down that week today is truck straight down okay okay so mom I'll never forget this moment you watch the show every day so I know you're gonna watch this I'll never forget the moment that you actually put your life on hold and you quit your job so that your children can fulfill their dreams I'll never forget the visual of you packing up your things out of your office to make that Trek to Los Angeles but you not only didn't stop there you were a security guard at night so that we can afford a really nice place to stay and that we can be in a great neighborhood that has great schools and now that I'm a mother I know how much of a huge sacrifice that was for you not only did you launch one career mine but you launched three you helped launch three amazing careers my sister TIA your daughter Tia your son Taj and me and for that I just want to say mom I applaud you for that selfless [Music] for me so thank you mother okay Jeannie you're next my god that was beautiful tan thanks Jeannie mama darling I love you anybody something okay um there's so many so much you guys have heard all the stories that I tell about mama my because I would not be here if it weren't for that woman right there that radiant woman who in the night decided to get on a boat with her family and escaped Vietnam to come here and two years two years later it gave birth to me and always reminded me mom that I am I am lucky to be able to make it here in America and I'm lucky to be able to have this career because there's so many that are less fortunate in in Vietnam and because of that we have to be representatives of the Asian community and we have to be representatives of women and who don't speak English who don't have a lot of money we don't have famous friends you always remind me that I don't need anything but the the belief in myself that even if she goes someday I I will have to be the one that believes in myself more than anybody else out there because she taught you taught me enough to believe in Who I am and what I can achieve and so I appreciate that from you mom and my mom has always been really loving and inclusive she's always been the type that that includes everybody that's why she's so celebratory it's why I have stories from everything because she just a Kelly's a part of the family completely and 15 years ago mom you decided to get this ratchet looking tattoo on your back of me my brother Daniel's name and my brother Dennis's them on your shoulder because it remind you of the way you lost me it was cute it's cute for a second but the thing is my mom has never thrown anything away I don't eat things to Goodwill she takes it from me and she actually donates it back to Vietnam to girls that are less fortunate out there so it's amazing and she would always take my specific size jeans and my blouses and she would always send it to this one address and I never knew who it was but she would tell me the story of this girl that lived in the she's a neighbor to where my mom used to live and every year mom you traveled back to Vietnam and you visit this young girl and you bring her clothes and you love her and one day my mom's washing the dishes over Christmas five years ago and she bends over and I see the tattoo that ratchet tattoo genie Dennis Daniel and you lower it a little bit more and boom there's another name and it's this girl's name from Vietnam all my mom's back says Becky which actually translated means Lil Kim so I asked my mom mom why did you get this girl's name tattooed why and she said because this is my family ma I family and we always have room for more I don't like those tattoos I'm gonna get snow baqia but I love you for always being a mom to everybody out there because you are full of love [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you are looking very nice good a handsome art sale oh
