you are the one right beside you is where I belong [Music] s [Music] we knew we'd get there someday they said I've been they'll never make it but just look at us holding on we're still together we're still going strong [Music] From This Moment [Music] I live only for your happiness [Music] we're still together [Music] when you come together [Music] came true [Music] [Music] how are you as long as I live from this moment [Music] if you can't wait to start [Music] my dreams came true [Music] always say it please [Music] foreign [Music] standing as Brother Don opens his in prayer let's pray our heavenly father we thank you for this this day and father we pray your blessings upon Austin and Jeannie as they embark on a family life to be one in marriage father we pray your blessings upon them we pray father that they might grow in their love for one another as they grow in their commitment to one another and as they grow in their love and commitment to you we ask your blessings upon their families father we pray that you would just be with them throughout life for this we pray in Jesus name amen you guys can be seated before we begin the bride and groom has asked me to let you guys know that this will be a unplugged ceremony so I do invite you to go and shut your phone off and put it in your pocket or wherever you want to put it and as we begin I did the ultimate No-No that I always tell myself I'm not going to do and I looked at parents and can I say the two of you that you guys are so loved um not just by your parents but by the people who are gathered here so it is an honor to be here to celebrate the celebrate this moment with you when you look at creation specifically the creation of man and woman in the Book of Genesis you see that God created Adam and we see that after creating Adam God took a rib from Adam to create Eve and then in Genesis 2 22 God's word tells us that in the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into the woman and brought her to the man God brought Eve to Adam the first marriage between Adam and Eve we see a picture here of God the Father giving away the first bride Eve to Adam marriage is by God's design and it is God's doing God created man and woman and in the same way he created the Covenant of marriage and it is a privilege to be able to celebrate that and if you read on in Genesis 2 you get to verse 24 and it communicates that a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife and they shall become one flesh today the two of you are leaving your fathers and your mothers to join together in the union of marriage you guys have been raised by your parents you have obviously Been Loved by your parents and you you've been discipled by your parents you haven't gotten to this point alone and that's something I encourage you to remember from this day Ford so who gives this woman to be buried to this man Teresa foreign as we begin I just want to remind us it's important for us today to continue to look at God's word and today really is it's a celebration but it's also a worship service and without the word of God today you would mean nothing so we're going to look at God's word as it shows us the type of love that you two are committing to one another today your vows yes they are words but they're more than words the love you are committing to today has biblical foundation in Genesis but also in the book of Ephesians so Austin this is what Ephesians 5 has to say to husbands it says husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies he who loves his wife loves himself also truly loving your wife means comforting her sharing with her and giving her to her but above all loving her means that you were concerned for her spiritually being the spiritual head of the household doesn't mean that you are to command every little action or to be the judge of everything right and wrong but it means that your own personal relationship with Jesus Christ is priority in your own life and through that type of love you're able to love her as God is laid out in scripture and through your example of living out your own convictions you provide for your family the spiritual guidance that we see and the responsibilities that we see for the husband in the book of Ephesians chapter five so if you pledge those commitments today to her let it be known by saying I do I do and Genie Ephesians 5 also has some instructions for you it says wives submit to your husbands as to the Lord for the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church his body so wives should submit to their husbands and everything let me just be really careful here to say that I've heard this passage priests incorrectly several times and it can be a difficult passage to understand we act often in our culture specifically we have difficulty with the word submit but let's look at exactly what you're submitting to you're submitting to the unconditional love of your husband as he loves you in the same way that Christ loved his church Christ came to Earth and gave his life for his church completely and totally unselfish love you were to admit committing today to submit to that Selfless Love from your husband a love being lived out on your behalf love is a two-way street it's not selfish right it doesn't require everything to be right or wrong this is the type of love you're submitting to and for the people who are married here we all know that the type of submission that demands every little right and wrong doesn't work anyway so that's not the type of book you're submitting to so if you pledge today to these commitments as defined by Ephesians 5 to Austin let it be known by saying I do I do Ephesians 5 really is a picture of Christ and his church and for all of us today as we look at that picture what we're seeing is probably the most clear picture of the Gospel that we get throughout God's word right Jesus came to Earth to restore his children right he came to Earth he lived a perfect life he died on the cross and he rose again that is the gospel and if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is the Lord and believe in our heart we will be saved but apart from Jesus sacrifice of himself and for his bride his church right we we have no hope but because of that gospel we have hope and that is the picture that you're laying out today so when we say that marriage is a picture of Christ in his church that is exactly what it is that is the unselfish love that you are committing to today and we see that all throughout the New Testament specifically in the book of current First Corinthians and this is what it says and as you prepare to take your vows I want you to know that personally for me leading up to today and even today this is the type of love that I pray that you guys are committing to in this Ceremony this is what it says it says love is patience and kind love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude it does not demand its own way it is not irritable and it keeps no record of being wrong it does not rejoice about Injustice rather it rejoices whenever the truth wins out love never gives up and never loses faith it is always hopeful and endures through every single circumstance so today I pray that this is the love you are taking the vow that you're taking before each other as you commit This Love This is the type of love one that gives no record of wrong one that is always patient and always kind one that keeps on giving without expecting anything in return from the other person so with that we're going to move into the vows so Austin holding her hands and looking into her eyes repeat after me hi Austin thank you Genie to be my wife I often take you Jenny to be my wife to have and to hold to have and to hold and sickness and in health and sickness and in health for better for worse for better for worse for richer for poorer for richer for poorer for the rest of our days for the rest of our days I will love you I will love you and I will serve you and I will serve you for the rest of our days for the rest of our days we are one we are one tell her that you love her I love you and Jenny holding Austin's hand and looking into his eyes please repeat after me uh Jenny Take You Austin to be my husband Jenny Take You Austin to be my husband and sickness and in health in sickness and in health for better for worse for better for worse for richer for poorer or richer for poor for the rest of our days for the rest of our days I will love you I will love you and I will serve you and I will serve you for the rest of our days for the rest of our days we are one We Are One and tell him that you love him we're going to move into the ring ceremony and as we do let me just say that the ring ceremony is a symbol of the commitment that you guys are making together today in front of all of these friends and family and before God and I don't have to go into the the reality that we've all heard of the never-ending circle of the ring and the the loves Eternal quality that it represents but today I think for us in our world it means much more than that it's a constant reminder for you as you look down at your hand and you see that ring of the commitment that you have made to one another today it's also a constant reminder for those of us around you as we see the ring on your hand of the commitment that you guys are making before one another today it's a constant reminder of the commitments that you guys are making before God and before us today so I want to encourage you to remember that so Austin do you have a ring that you would like to give Jenny thank you okay okay that's okay go ahead and place the ring on her finger and keeping your hand on the ring and holding her hand looking to her eyes and repeat after me Take This Ring as a symbol of my love and commitment Take This Ring as a symbol of my love and commitment all that I have or ever gain all that I have or ever gain is now yours as well it's now yours as well in the name of the father and of the sun you know the son and of the Holy Spirit of the Holy Spirit do you have a ring you'd like to be a boss in the same way place the ring on his finger hold your hand on the ring and hold his other hand and repeat after me Take This Ring as a symbol of my love and commitment Take This Ring as a symbol of my love and commitment all that I have or ever gain all that I have or ever gain is now yours as well is now yours as well in the name of the father in the name of the father and of the son and of the son and of the Holy Spirit and of the Holy Spirit the bride and groom today have chosen to attach two locks together as a symbol of the commitment that they are making here today what the locks illustrate for you guys today in the presence of God and before each of us here is the joining together of two lives for a lifetime you're making biblical promises to one another in your vows and you're symbolizing that with the giving of rings and you're also symbolizing that today with the Locking of your love and life together as you attach your life locks to one another so may these two locks that are joined together remind you of the lifelong commitment that you are making to each other so you guys are welcome to begin no this is that okay who's that who's just that you have the key that's hurting I guess and give it to me so we lock them together [Music] um beyond what I can see yeah let me know like that yeah I wanted to give them to our moms [Music] um [Music] will you guys join me as we pray together father thank you for today and thank you for marriage thank you for these two lives that we all love so deeply gotta I can't help but be grateful for the ways that you have continued to show yourself as present in their lives over the years as we think back over the years that they have been together so God I pray for them today as they take next steps today together as a married couple God we ask you as we celebrate this we ask that you would continue to fill them with an overwhelming sense of your presence God we ask that you would constantly remind them of the commitments that they are making here today God we ask that you would guide them God that you would comfort them that you would walk with them and that you would allow them to continue to exude Your Love portrayed to one another and portray your grace to one another in both good times and bad it's in Jesus name that we pray this today amen since the two of you have made covenants to one another and we have witnessed the same before God and you have pledged your love to each other by the giving and receiving of rings and by the joining of Hands by the power vested in Me by the state of Tennessee and as a minister of the Gospel I Now pronounce you husband and wife Austin you may kiss
