hey guys beer880 and it is time to get the boat out of the warehouse and ready for the lake I don't want to raise it so what's the whole purpose of unwinterizing what is unwinnerizing mean and so forth and so on you want to get your boat either out of storage out of your garage out of your Warehouse in my case you want to go to the lake if you want to be able to turn that key and everything magically come together because nothing magically comes together when it comes to a boat so back in September October we went ahead and winterized my boat now my boat's kept inside a warehouse that doesn't get below 50 degrees so you got to keep that in mind as well this will probably be an easier step than most people that have to deal with this I didn't use antifreeze inside my block or the exhaust manifold I basically use a shop vac to suck all the water out I got fuel stabilizer inside my fuel tank and I also disconnected my battery so in a perfect world all I should be able to do is connect my battery up pump it a couple of times before pulling it into my garage I stopped by the gas station and filled her up so let's see what she does on my Bayliner 175 my battery is located on the starboard side behind the passenger seat near the motor cover what I've done is I went ahead and connected my voltmeter up to the battery I haven't charged it all since last year and I've got 12.62 volts that's awesome that means I shouldn't have any problem whatsoever when it comes time to crank the boat what's a good rule of thumb have at least 12.5 volts if you don't it's best to charge it until you do and if you have less than 12.5 if you have 12 and you're not getting a good charge then that can mean that your battery is going to need to be replaced so I've got my battery box all strapped in all the cables tight ready to go so I've got my hose hooked up nothing's turned on yet what I'm doing right now is I'm just looking inside the engine compartment to see to make sure there's no oil leaks nothing got a hole in it rusted a hole in it or anything everything still looks nice and clean as it did when I winterized it last year another thing I'm gonna check let me check my oil level let me check my oil condition as well everything looks fantastic it looks great no milkiness no contamination appears it has got into it since the last time that I started it everybody has a different preference again in my other videos I've told you how meticulous these 3.0 Mercury carburetors are for clogging up so I'm going to do now is I've taken a flame restaurant off I just want to see the inside of the throttle body I'm going to undo the throttle lock on my shifter lever just pump it a little bit to see if my accelerator jets are clogged up and then in here in a minute I'm going to go ahead and start it up do it Matthew so what I'm doing right now is I'm bringing the engine up to operating temperature this also allows the turnkey start TKS system to go ahead and close as you're listening right now you can hear that pissing going on going away also the engine idle now is smoothed out but what I'm looking for is I'm making sure there's no water leaks inside the belt area any oil leaks making sure there was no drain plugs missed and just letting the engine run for about a good 10 minutes 10 to 15 minutes while doing so it's a good thing to keep an eye on your engine temperature make sure that your thermostat's opening if you do have a thermostat inside your uh engine block keep an eye on your voltage make sure your voltage is operated correctly for your alternator and also for your oil pressure so we're done everything runs perfect there are no leaks one of the other things that I also do and this is just something the personal preference of mine I always recheck the oil to make sure there's no milkiness no water or anything contaminating the engine it's worth of time to completely go over the boat make sure the battery is correct and voltage wise make sure there's no oil leaks no water leaks no water contamination inside oil before running the engine after running the engine confirming the voltage on the battery strapping the battery down and making sure all the connections are tight checking the oil level operating temperature make sure the impeller is working correctly all these things I'm telling you it is such it is very very important to do this before you get to the ramp I've made that mistake before I've been one of those people that have gone to the boat ramp turned to key and her to click click or as soon as you start your engine next thing you know you've got a fuel leak or an overheating engine because the impeller decided to crap itself out during the winter time that's all this is about with a look over on the boat to de-winterize it and get it ready for the lake one of the other things that I would suggest doing which I haven't done yet is check the tire pressure on the trailer guys thanks again for watching my video click like And subscribe around here we'll see you soon on the lake
