hi this video is going to be about getting the best quality you can out of assumed video conference for things other than just voice so don't make guitar with me and we're gonna see if we can get that sound good I've currently connected so yeah you can hear they're quite a lot of processing going on trying to avoid feedback and doing lots of other things to try and make voices stand out from background noise but unfortunately the guitar fingers as background ones so tries to filter that out so let's disconnect from the iPhone the iPhone unfortunately doesn't really have any options to turn that processing off but I'm going to connect to my laptop and that should sound fit there okay so now we're connected to my laptop using the this is the Mac client but it's pretty much the same on ucu laptops as well now by default although our processing is still on so if I just play now it's gonna sound very similar to like my phone yeah let's see what we can do about that in this little menu down here in the bottom left next to the mute microphone there's a think of audio settings so let's open that up so right now we are completely as default so there's a couple of settings we might want to try and change the first is automatically adjust microphone without you so that just tries to keep things audible but if you're playing music that tends to be kind of full of layout bits and quiet bits and you don't want them flattened out so let's do that turn up the volume a little so that we can still be heard and then in this Advanced section down here there's an option that says show in meeting option to enable original sounds and microphone so we click that and then up here you may have noticed this little button appears turn it off and turn it on again we get this button up here this is turn on original sound so we will do that what that does is it disables most of that processing so that the sound that comes into the microphone that's pretty much what's transmitted over the Internet so let's see how that sounds three four five [Music] three [Music] so yeah so that sounds quite a lot better a lot better and that's obviously very usable if you're doing the performance in a zoom meeting or something like that then that's that's pretty acceptable you have to be kind of careful that the levels are set correctly but yeah that's pretty good one thing I have I also have an external audio interface like a digital mixer that I've got both any USB interface to work you have one of those it kind of appears here I'm going to switch to using that that interface is connected to these microphone microphone here I've got another one down here can you see it there it is and that's kind of pointing at my guitar more and then I also have a guitar plugged into my mixer through a pickup and I got a little bit of reverb going on one two three four five one two three four five so that sounds probably a little bit better than microphones as well or the built-in microphones okay thanks very much
