Get to know me (with Q&A)

hey everyone i'm g loves trains there's a lovely sunrise over there and as i'm taking a walk this morning around the wiggin i thought i'd do a little bit of a get to know me session i did ask for questions so thank you very much to everybody who got in touch with one i've selected a handful which i thought would fit nicely within this video so the first question is what made you want to start youtube i had this hobby of filming silly comedic videos and i also had the hobby of riding on trains and i found myself one time filming a video and the camera was flipped the other way round but it was me walking around preston station and i was chatting to be honest utter nonsense about trains and i thought why not merge my two hobbies together and create a railway vlog i literally got a camera that first ever vlog i made it was completely unplanned off the cuff and ever since i have created content every single tuesday what's your favorite station in the north west it is preston i think when you spend so much time around a certain place you naturally create a lot of memories and for me preston is the place where i really became a train enthusiast what is the best vlog you've done so far i would have to say the stay at a station it was just an absolute dream come true there was one particular moment where i was in the bathroom i looked up at the window saw it was white and then it clicked with me i went running down the stairs grabbed the camera went out the front door and it was snowing it was absolutely magical like it was a christmas themed vlog i was staying at a railway station and it was snowing could it get any more perfect what is the best value ranger slash rover ticket the one i use the most often is a greater manchester day ranger i think when i go for a day in manchester it's handy to have because it allows me to go back and forth and you know if we decide oh let's just pop here i could just get the train without having to buy another ticket and it does cost just over seven quid so it's definitely worth it what hobbies do you have i think my mates at work would probably say my number one hobby is eating but i've actually gotten more hobbies through going out vlogging i have fallen in love with long walks like even when i'm not filming now i will just find myself going out for super long walks talking to transport enthusiasts has gotten me a little bit into buzz it's just a little bit i do enjoy hopping onto an arriva pulsar now and again and obviously flowing water i'm obsessed with any time i see blue on a map my eyes are just drawn to it for instance i love canal walks speaking of which i did get up at 3am to come and film this because i came out yesterday to do it but it started absolutely chucking it down and it was completely unfilmable so it's now tuesday i've got to film this video before i go to work then after i finish work i've got to edit upload and post it's a good job i like a challenge what is your favorite request stop i'd have to say i used to call it pleasington but i now say pleasington it was the first request or i ever went to riding down the column route was what introduced me to the concept of request stop so it was very exciting when i finally did get to get off the train at pleasington if you could go on any line in the uk that you've not been on yet which would it be i've heard a lot a lot of chats about the heart of wales line more tfw action but yeah i'd love to check that one out what made you a train lover virgin pandolino to preston northern 142 to blackburn and vice versa riding trains was like a form of escape for me from a hard time that i was going through and even to this day like when i'm away from that hard time now trains just bring me pure happiness like if i didn't have trains in my life during that period i probably wouldn't have had anything to put a smile on my face what is your favorite view from a station i'd have to say glan conway it's a lovely little station itself but it's actually hard to look around it because you are right next to flowing water and it literally took my breath away it was absolutely stunning why is one seven five one zero nine your bae it was the 14th of february 2020 and after i finished filming my vlog i said to myself the next 175 that comes along to take me back up to wazawanki will be my valentine and lo and behold 109 came rocking up and from then on it's always had a place in my heart and it is my favorite train can you pronounce clown via pool and gil goguera queen robert santacillio gotta go can you pronounce that i'm your little pretty snot chucker yeah close enough e it's taking a while for all the work to be finally done up on the roads here and they have moved the crossing from as you step off the canal to a bit further down here windermere are on side onside it's an overnight station with two platforms my favorite kind of station and it is super close to some flowing water whereas in windermere you have to walk a little bit further out to reach the flowing water would you rather fight one cyber-sized duck or a hundred duck-sized cybers as a vegan i shall not fight ducks so 100 duck-sized cybers it has to be where in the world would you like to visit i've always said i wouldn't mind going to canada to see the niagara falls good bit of flowing water that would be and i used to watch this prank show called just for laughs gags so i wouldn't mind going to the filming location for that and i think there's some trains there as well what camera do you use i use the canon g7x mark ii i have a two of these cameras now and this one i broke not so long after getting it but it would be odd to use without the screen being slightly bent outwards do you like eurovision g loves eurovision it is actually on my bucket list to watch eurovision live and i don't just mean on the telly i mean actually be the in the crowd i think that would be an awesome experience what are your plans after completing north wales i will probably go and export a different region and if i do continue moving around region by region then inevitably one day it will be the aim to visit every single train station in the whole of the uk do you aspire to work on the railways i am the happiest right now that i've ever been in my life and i've always said it is an honor to be able to call railway vlogging a job of mine and it does work perfectly alongside my full-time job and i did always have the dream to be working that as well have you tried a wig and pie balm yummy and me trying one of these let's face it has been a long time overdue i hope you've enjoyed this i know it's been something a little bit different i do do monthly q and a's on patreon but there have been rail strikes on this week so that has inhibited me from going out traveling so i was like what else can i do but i can't wait to get back out on the trains again and i thought this would be a perfect opportunity to say i'm not want to focus on numbers and stats for me it's more about having a positive impact on people's lives and inspiring people being jealous trains is the best thing that's ever happened to me i have fallen in love with myself really i've discovered so much about me and i can just be who i am i've had so much support for doing this so thank you i'm gonna continue eating my the wig and
