everyone excited oh I know I haven't got a good one for you tonight yes the one and only Johnny Depp is here Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan is here Chuck iris comic Ed Byrne is on the show writer director and actor Ricky Gervais says we have used it from Snow Patrol so line up that's a good show and of course thrilled to have Ricky face back on the show everybody's got a new comedy series out called life's too short now so it's a hit Ricky you should call us a life of a showbiz dwarf you think what does Ricky know about that [Applause] [Applause] everyone looking lovely gorgeous shoe the shoe look at the shoes very high they are amazing those shoes now listen I just want to check before mr. Depp does arrive there's got to be no awkwardness on the sofa because I know in the Golden Globes you were you were less than kind Johnny and Angelina's film I haven't seen this one I haven't seen that one I said Alan didn't stop me though he'll be all right they won't of course it'd be all right I I didn't I didn't buy the controversy really with the Golden Globes I think that was the press just keeping it going cuz it was really offended do did I really offend you no I was there I think you offended I guess this ridiculous he's in the new show you know and and everyone's going all the way insulted everyone Johnny Depp was furious so I sent him an email and said done sorry about the globe's um how'd you like to get your own back and he went I loved it I wasn't of course I wasn't annoyed you know it's ridiculous it's like alright it wasn't a noise at all so it's Angelina Jolie in life's too short as well I didn't ask her she didn't look so happy Kerry Kerry you you blame Johnny jet for ruining your hair um no I played a tiny prostitute part in Public Enemies Road a you having a dwarf see a tiny prostitute tiny prostitute part in Public Enemies where they convinced me to dye my hair white and that's it all fella no I didn't have to kiss him a lot I did kiss him several times but it got cut for a film no I mean yes [Music] how many times you kiss me Roger I think it was 16 because I was so uncomfortable like this 160 but I got crown it got cut guy looks so uncomfortable really yeah it's kissing Johnny Depp's I got I who could blame you and their age you have a beef with Johnny Depp partner ugly stole my look [Applause] sorry thing I get fed up with you being confused of them all the time it's very annoying contrast' that's it's there's ad have you got one the joint Vegas for me no right Carey Mulligan I love what's happened to you it's just fabulous every now and again it happens to someone where Nona knew you suddenly you're nominate for Oscars you are the it girl you're the hottest actress on planet earth right now so are you sort of comfortable with all this yet yeah no I feel like I've won an audience of war to sit next to these two fine no not at all it's very strange and what truly is that apart from the odd school play your first ever job was pardon prejudice with Judi Dench and Brendan Bethlem people yeah oh there I am oh yeah yeah I'm better now I feel success has changed you yes oh yeah was it was my pesto I giggled a lot I didn't do an awful lot and now you've got I mean so many people wanted this role but you are playing Daisy Buchanan in the Great Gatsby opposite Leonardo DiCaprio yes is it a big for Johnny Depp pigs you were a Leo fan or are iliev an obscene yeah I mean I I grew up watching everything he'd ever done it's difficult I have to hide my inner fan when I'm around him I mean it's it's terrible he claims to not be able to dance and reading a dancing scene and I have to hide the fact that I know that he can dance because I've seen him dancing Titanic I'm suppressing my your crap dancer I sit there but he's amazing the great if they wrote that into the dialogue that'd be really funny scene in the film if you were to say to the great catch me yeah I saw you dance in Titanic and you're going back to Australia very soon to finish that film which is one of why you're here tonight to talk about change yeah it doesn't really come out till January the 13th yes I can tell you because I know it's written down I've seen previous film it is an amazing film it's a very different film yeah and for an audience member it's extreme so I'm assuming to be in it was quite an extreme experience it's a little bit racy it is because it deals with addiction but a particular sort of addiction the film sex my the busmalis character is is addicted kids yeah so yeah he's not what Owens identity yes you're being harsh about the format I'm talking around really sex addiction because I was the only other time I hear that is when they go on sex ticked isn't that thought it means I've got caught so now I require e to say sorry is that really is there really sex addiction when you watch this film you do sort of think it yes it lays him quite low right I say yes I'm now gonna show you a clip which isn't really about sex or addiction it's an it but any clip that you could say it is the only very good show so it's you your singer you've just performed a song and you're meeting your brother's boss go do I hear the clinking of rum bottles the buckling of swash yes he's here Hartford from the premiere of The know it's a pleasure yeah and there you just come to the premiere how was that been well it was good yeah very good and the crowd showed up and did that the screaming there was a bit of food crowd yeah did you get it out of hand because there's a picture I'm sure you've seen the picture from the New York premiere of the ROM diary what went on what what's happening in that picture that was the Heimlich maneuver I had something lodged just been manhandled by somebody for some reason lows okay okay I have press charges we're delighted you're here but to be honest I'm surprised you're here so quickly because it seems you're you are so lovely to your fans let the story of you as Captain Jack going to see that little girl in Greenwich Greenwich ooh that's an amazing story [Applause] I got a letter you know I got the sweet little letter from from a little girl who was going to school like three minutes away from where we were shooting and she said you know we need to escape you know we need pilots to help us out so I thought well on lunch break we'll go over bring about 12 pirates and and go hey and we did it and it was it was really fun and really sweet I mean the kids were so somewhat scared very scary actually very scared cuz I think they've husband how the hell did that lessor get to you in a bottle [Applause] right let's talk about the ROM diary presumably a real labor full of you you found the original manuscript was it 14 years 14 years yeah it was by accident you know I was I was with Hunter Thompson and we were looking through the manuscript of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas where I was preparing for the film and then I just found this other box opened it up and there was the ROM diary and he said he didn't remember writing it hmm no no that's kind of a stretch no he knew yemen's he didn't remember writing it but had been many years he wrote it in 5916 like that so you convinced him I talked him into it this should be published and turned into a film yeah anything it's presumably kind of semi autobiographical abouts definitely yeah yeah yeah it was kind of the Hunter Thompson before he found his voice before he found the avenue for the rage you know so he was a journalist in Puerto Rico and going through these adventures and yeah you were good friends with Hunter under that assumption most definitely yeah but it sounds reading about him he sounds like the sort of person quite hard to be Fred the could you relax with him oh yeah really yeah yeah what'd he tell us about the first time you ever met him uh let's see the first time I met him I was you know a it was a bar in Woody Creek Colorado and I was sitting in the back there was a sort of scheduled meeting he's about midnight and I was sitting in the back of this bar and suddenly the front door opened of the bar I was way in the back and I saw a sparks these hideous sparks they were kind of everywhere and then I realized as he came closer the sea was parting people screaming hurling himself out of the way and he basically in his left hand he had a three-foot cattle prod and in his right hand he had a taser gun and the next thing I heard was all away you bastards and the sea parted and here and then we shook hands and then we went back to his house and built a bomb I shot it with a shotgun and it went off yeah yeah you build a good bomb 80-foot fireball yeah huge C does not rely Suren and things like that yeah I mean it sounds like fun but again I just just I wouldn't relax I think I'm gonna sleep in that house you slept in the house well it wasn't a council house where was it pretty much I was gonna invite you back to mine after they think I'd be disappointed another you know I can bring them to the blower do come shuttle me to the cat so the cosgrove you diggin out huh when he died the ashes think was that your idea with those who his wishes I did his will that was his last wish what he would what hunter wanted was to be blown out of a hundred and fifty foot cannon and shot into the stratosphere and uh I think he knew that I was the only one stupid enough to make that happen and I did I did it work oh yeah this we're going to show a clip of the ROM diary opens on the 11th of November this was my favorite sequences in the film you've had a big night and you've long I think you've lost the front seat yes my car has been stripped yes yeah yes but you need to get back to town we must yeah yes so this is you in the rub diary
