GATLINBURG - ANAKEESTA- CLIFFTOP RESTAURANT

[Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] hey everybody thanks for joining us on vacation station tv your virtual getaway miss marie and i today are in gatlinburg it is a tuesday and you would think you would think that the crowd would be gone where's the crowd honey they're right here aren't they they're here now it's not nearly as bad as memorial day weekend but it is quite a bit of traffic out here and a lot of people walking around it's still early it's only what is that 11 30 1 45 in the morning it's still early but there's a lot of people here so we're gonna have fun today are we gonna go to anna we're gonna go to anakista and a couple of other places i know and hopefully then shut it down on us when we're up there could you imagine getting stuck on the chair for hours and hours and hours yeah you would like that looking forward to it so join us and uh don't go anywhere because we're going to be right back and we're going to go right down into gatlinburg to show you what's going on don't go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] anywhere [Music] [Music] now one of the nice things in gatlinburg is they turn on the water feature here on these hot days you can go right out there and cool right down in that that's so neat isn't it and it's located right at the apex of 321 321 heading in and 321 north heading out and of course this is downtown heading into downtown gatlinburg right there and by the way right where i am sitting is the restroom facility so if you need her up there's miss marie you need a restroom this place is really clean it's spacious there's plenty of facilities for handicapped and or not and it's right next to the parking garage which is right there there's the parking garage and the facilities are right there and they're absolutely free there is no cost in downtown gatlinburg and if you're feeling musical which miss marie feels musical these things are right here they're right by the restroom facilities and the garage and at no cost you just kind of [Music] that's the house where you do the ghost house there's ghost hunting here yeah they don't go in though it's the ogle log cabin they don't go in there no then what's the point of showing it um because it's here probably too small to put people in here probably too small let's continue there it is [Music] hmm [Music] oh [Music] now today anakista is running it's running very slow i can tell you that this is the line that you'd wait for the tram right here now the benefit miss marie doesn't even know this but you [Music] there's people now you saw the line in the hyper mode where we were running through our transmography [Music] yes [Music] now there is the line you have to wait in that two-hour line right all you got to do is just have a seasons pass right right so what do you recommend people do with their season pass get one get a season class they can always come here and you get twenty percent very quick the people are friendly very friendly here people really really nice and you get twenty percent off you don't have to fall in line no i feel bad for those poor people are we gonna buy a shirt yeah don't worry about it she's on an ocd mode now because i'm wearing it was cold this morning so i was wearing here you can see i'm wearing my sweatshirt but all right hang on right here you can come on through you'll stand in front of the green screen i can get your picture man all right i get one of these how about i get your yeah say hello hello who are you i'm chase and he's got some nice equipment in here very good how many pictures you take a day thousands wow thousands thousands a couple i don't know today probably i'd say about two three thousand and do you see them at night when you go to sleep the snapping shot i have to three two one cheese you know sometimes i'll just say it over in my sleep that's sick isn't that sick thank you there you go you're welcome [Music] and we're off what do you think miss marie [Music] now there's the tram they're loading up and there are two trams and they load up about 35 people per tram so there's a short wait but once again if you get the years pass you can go up and down this thing as many times as you want and you get to go in the fast lane you don't have to stand online so right there should tell you it's worth purchasing that so you and your family can get right in and right on and right to the top [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] true [Music] wonderfulness look at this [Music] everything looks open to me there's the fire pit at night they light that up and you just sit around in your chairs [Music] the rail runners still closed it got struck by lightning so i know they're rebuilding that but there's the smokehouse we just passed by but here is the clifftop restaurant and just look at the views and you got chairs they're always lined with chairs nice adirondack chairs for you to just sit back and relax beautiful view of anarchy style then if you just want quick bites [Music] they got yeehaw beer here and then they got the snack shack and also there's other snacks right up here if you don't want anything that's over here it's not to your desire and this is the clip top dining outside [Music] dining here's the this is the water feature see so if you want you want to get warm uh cool you just kind of walk in there and the kids look how much fun they have isn't that great [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah [Music] now there's quick bites right here at the kephart cafe right up there and they're quick bites and they got good stuff in here they got hot dogs [Applause] frozen yogurt beer they've got all sorts of cool foods in the gift store mercantile now of course the cliff top is now open for breakfast every saturday and sunday until 11am so if you want breakfast on the clifftop this is the place to go if you could find a window so i could shoot video it would be cool if not i'm all right with them you can do miracles you got the power you got the power um inside right yeah inside too hot for outside thanks though okay here we go we're inside the cliff top they got a full bar [Music] lots of seating you can definitely find lots of seating and we got ourselves a window seat isn't that cool thank you okay miss marie as you can see beautiful window seat all the way around hello i gotcha oh yeah that was even a nice place [Music] [Music] foreign okay i figured i'd show you the menu this is one of the two menus they give you the anakista mountain clifftop mountain menu we've got some good stuff here dinner is after 4 p.m by the way if you need to just still the frame and you can read all of the ingredients here's your appetizers [Music] then of course they've got burgers you can make it a double for five bucks more or make it a bison patty for seven bucks you can see the different ingredients they have some really cool burgers here i'm definitely going with the smoky that's the one i'm going with there then they got handhelds that are known as sandwiches miss marie is going to go with the blt [Music] very nice very very nice now here is miss marie's house salad beautifully done look at that you don't usually see how salad's so well decorated she's got ranch dressing it's really a nice looking salad don't you think so miss marie yes it looks appetizing now i got the caesar salad [Music] nice crisp lettuce i can actually feel the coldness of the lettuce when i get near it i can feel it nice cold snappy lettuce that's the way it should be okay let's check it out there's miss marie's salad it looks really well done it looks tasty honey good yeah i mean i love the way that they they put the cheese on and she's got ranch dressing [Music] you like the tomatoes and the cucumber there's tomatoes and cucumber onions really very fresh you can just tell that everything on it is so fresh my caesar is good nice creamy caesar then the parmesan cheese you see the parmesan right there in the center and it's real parmesan you tell by the spices and stuff very nice very good tastes really nice very nice okay there's miss marie's blt look like smells good [Applause] and i got the smoky it's called nice bacon [Music] [Music] [Music] and right there between that and this big old salad there is a great meal at the clifftop at anakista even for miss marie look at that if miss marie likes it and eats it it's gotta be good right miss murray very nice you got a smile on your face yeah very much well my very first bite i was i could taste the grill the barbecue the grill the charring very well done nicely i don't mean well done it's medium rare but it's well done look at that burger look at that [Music] perfect absolutely perfect now miss marie did you eat your sandwich yet did you try it let me see the inside hers actually she has a bacon lettuce blt take a little more over a little more over a little more over that's a fried green tomato there's two of them on there what a great idea that is she's still working on her salad [Music] beautiful completely very well laid out and displayed i mean look at that burger very very nice give you an idea what the living living room what the dining room looks like beautiful view look at that we got window seats that's right next to me this marina has her own view right out her window [Music] marie's still working on her bacon lettuce and tomato her french fries her salad i know that and she eats so slow and my my plate is gone gone gone they could put it back on the shelf i finished it all it was really super good and the check is thank you much very reasonable we got a house salad um there was 11 caesars 10 a blt 60 very reasonable the smoky so there you go 58.97 oh yeah he's got to have it not bad so you're looking at 60 bucks then tip you put a 20 tip on there and away you go not bad at all this is at the cliff top restaurant at anakista in gatlinburg tennessee [Music] okay well that was good i'm full i am absolutely full that really was a great burger now i don't [Music] after you're done eating you come out and get yourself a cool beverage if you would like at the bar here and then look at this view look at that that is the smoky mountains grow the people [Music] there we go did you enjoy that meal miss yes it was tasty you got take away and everything right look at her miss marie she loves her salads all right let's keep going let's see what else what so there you go here is anakista and you know another plus to getting a year's pass is that you could just come up for lunch or dinner and then you go and you come back again and you remember you can come for breakfast on the weekends is that cool somebody just gave you a thumbs up oh very good i didn't see that i'm always rattling that's fine i'm sure this place was kicking butt over the weekend look at that now there you go they do keep the plants nice and fresh always they're always gardening and then the adirondack chairs there's some that are empty right here and you could just kind of sit back and relax especially when the sun goes down yes very nice [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] there okay well another successful fun day with miss marie miss marie we went to uh anakista we're in gatlinburg right now and i highly suggest that you do go to anakista it's one of the things you should put on your immediate i must go to in gatlinburg when you're here you'll find a fun day for you and the entire family i don't care how young they are how old they are uh we even have people what would like not quite a walker but what did that what was it that lady had in front of us like uh a walker she got on that chair lift like a train like a trooper she did she got on and then her husband helped her off it was great you can do it you could take the gondola or you could take the tram or you could take the seat look at that garage space is already full full garage spaces are full that's it we're not we're on the fourth floor right up there and remember there are elevators here so you have to walk up four floors just hit the button and you go up the elevator but we had a good time today miss marie and i just went for lunch that was really all it was about right i got it go ahead she's got to pee oh my goodness miss marie needs me oh goodness gracious so thank you for joining us
