While this does show potential problems with long distance electric attacks, there are physical electric-type moves as well. And while MatPat might have joked about it being more effective to bite down and deliver the electric charge past the skin, well, Thunder Fang is a move. One which can be learned by Jolteon, the electric-type evolution of Eevee, showing once again which cute critter should have been the mascot of these games. (Go Team Eevee!)

The begining has a pretty significant error:

As much as you cannot throw electricity, you also can not throw fire. You can throw something that burns but fire itself cant even exist without something that it burns. That maybe also the solution for pikachu. He doesnt throw electricity he throws eomething that electricity can flow through.

Also for the electricity explanation he only talked about static electricity. But seeing that pikachu sometimes schocks people for several seconds it cant be static electricity. Because discharg of static electricity happens in an instance.

So we are in the realm of alternating current or direct current. Direct curret on the one hand still has to overcome the same limitations as static currents. But alternating current not only has the resistance but also inductance .

So that could be the solution to the problem.

Just one question; if you need at least 100 million volts to make an actual lightning bolt how come Kaminari from MHA can summon lightning at "1.3 million volts" before he short circuits himself?

Question: Couldn't the resistance of the air in the Pokemon universe be different than in our world though? wouldn't that fix the problem?(and cause more problems for actual lightning strikes).

Pokemon is a fantasy universe that doesn't fully abide by real world logic like a fantasy universe should. This is like arguing that Superman shouldn't be able to fly because he has no wings. It's deliberately missing the point. If Pokemon can super naturally generate electricity then they can super naturally generate lightning as well. You can't just pick and choose which powers can be super natural and which must abide by the laws of science. Game Theories Pokemon theories are terrible. They just cherry pick which parts of the Pokemon universe can be considered magic and which have to abide by science with no real logic other than what works more as click bait.
