Game Maker Tutorial - FNAF Fan Game - #2 (Remastered)

hello everyone and welcome back to this fangame canada tutorial series in this episode we are going to be making the newspaper the warning screen and the night screen so why don't we get started okay so first off as we left off in the last episode you might have remember we made the main menu now if you don't know what the main menu looks like if you're like a new viewer I highly suggest that you go back to the first episode and watch it but pretty much in the last episode we just pretty much made the you know the main menu and it wasn't that much it's just you know just the background just made many overweight now we're going to be doing this episode we're going to be putting the electronic here which I have drawn a you know pre-made like well by me why did I say pre-made what the heck oh so pretty much we're going to put the you with an animatronic here and when the game starts it'll show like a warning screen and then I'll go here to the main menu and then when you click new game it takes you to the newspaper and then it takes you to the night screen so why don't we get started so first off we're going to need to make a new folder in the sprites so that way we can keep everything organized three and a clone infinities okay this cache block is on okay so pretty much this is where all our menu is going to be like a night screens and newspapers stuff like that so you want to right-click on it and create a new sprite and call this a warning screen like so there you go okay now this image is going to have to be one so eighty by 720 so what's going to do that or your games resolution if you have a negative evolution so there we go and then you just go into it uh you just you can make it in a separate programs you want to have like 3d letters or cool-looking letters like I didn't find us a book but in this case I'm just going to be doing a very simple one where it's just black you get a good nice red color you get that little terminal font because I actually looks like kind of like you know like that I am actually going to use let's see where is it where is it something pixel operators or you can download this font off the font calm because it doesn't come with the operating system so in your text tool you just want to type in like you know just typing like a warning like warning and rubber use hash tags for a new line I forgot that it actually said right there I don't even know what how to mention it uh this game contains flashing right jump scares and allow noises play at your own risk so yeah that's pretty standard uh yeah so I'm gonna actually make this 36 there you go so you can send the whole screen and I'm sorry go here a bit of thunder and that's actually outside because this is a bit of thunderstorms happening right now in my location so yeah you could just do that and use like the middle warned because I just think it honestly it looks pretty good but that's your choice so yeah we just have it like this these you want to come check okay so now we're going to do the warning screen now this is like super simple so I pretty much you just want to make a group in the objects and call it menu just like we did for the sprites you can close off the main menu we don't really need to right now but we will later oh so now you want to create an object I just call it a warning screen now set the sprite to the warning screen and makes it just know don't actually change the desk I don't you know I'm going to so we're going to make a timer that lasts about you know just about six seconds so that the prayer has some time to read it so you want to make the timer you want to add you vent make it create and you want to add another event and this is alarm zero so create an alarm zero okay so on the create event you want to go to control and right here there's variables you want to dragon first of all now this sets a variable this makes a variable pretty much so the word is going to call the variable wording now you want to copy that because we are going to need it later so the value is pretty much how many seconds you want it we are going to have six seconds I mean that's obviously not how every variable works but pretty much in this context no depending on how long you want it you put right here how many seconds so now you press ok and you go to main - and you see the clock icon you want to drag that is number of steps just take that 30 and make sure it's on o R 0 and press ok so now go to the arm 0 even go to control drag in the variables paste in you know you're warning things but the value we're going to decrease it by 1 so 2 negative 1 and over and make it relative so that way because then if if we did turn on roses it was go straight to negative 1 and not change like it would just like go to negative 1 instead of like decreasing so rose that makes it decrease by that amount so like if we want to make it go up then we just go plus 1 but we're not going to do that we're going to use minus 1 okay so now we got to go to main to drag into o'clock and what's the steps at 30 once again and go back to your variables and drag in the middle block but one of the custom variables now this just means if the variable is that this value you know like you can put equal to West and greater than stuff like that and then you can make it do something so we're going to do is where if warning is the value of 0 which means once it gets to 0 you want to drag in these two blocks which start walk and then block and we're going to make it a fade-out to the other room so oh you want to click OK for right now okay and we can already make a room so you want a right click press create room now put above the main menu so that way this will start at first because we don't want this going before the warning screen you know stuff will happen that we don't want to happen so now just put our and warning streams now make a list 1 to 80 now trying to make this episode I'm doing this a little bit faster because I think that since you as already watched the first episode while weeks most of y'all think I did then you know I don't really need to spend much time you know explaining it but I still definitely will so don't worry about it so make your with once an eighty by 720 which is pretty much what every rooms width and height is going to be unless we have to change it at some point which I don't think we don't so go to your objects and change your objects to warning screen and just drag that right in and yeah so there we got our a warning screen and we're going to add a fade in and fade out so we're gonna have to make some sprites so now just make another folder I'll create a group I'm a why you guys just should get finished for a second okay yeah whatever it is okay now all yeah pretty sure you guys just paused okay so now make another group and call it others now this is just a folder where we're going to have other stuff like you know not related to the game like just like you know game saving and stuff like that like you know that aren't actually in the game they're kind of invisible you know that kind of thing so just make that same thing for the objects okay so now right-click on the other folder and press creates right now we're going to make a sprite and just call it faded because we're gonna have to make a fade in and fade out right so these are very easy to make so we're just going to make faded first so just call it as faded go to edit sprite make the image once we do my 1020 like so now go into your image and just paint it black like just plain black and okay yeah I've made a little spot right there just notice that that's gonna try and scribble that out actually there you go okay so we got just a black image now nothing's going to happen if we just have a bug so we got to make it disappear so go to your animation the little animations have up here and click disappear number of frames 30 because 30 frames is one second because our game is running at 30 frames per second so now just is okay and just wait a little bit depending on your computer speed and we'll load up fast or slow and yeah so now pretty much if you show your previews you can see like a fade-out see check that up but this looks kind of slow but really in the game is going to be off fast as the preview doesn't really spend a lot of time now see it's going faster because that's kind of read into a frames so now you can just press a checkmark and just wait for the load now press ok now you want to duplicate it by right clicking and clicking duplicate now call this s baby now edits a sprite and go back to the the animation set and click reverse and this just simply reverses it so you know you have a transparent image and then it just paid them like that okay so now you want to click the checkmark and press ok okay so you got our faders in your fate oh and part of our warning screen guns okay so now what we need to do is right click on our objects corner of the other and press create obvious now press now type in O phase and creator state and creators not actual fade in because if we want it to fade in at the start then we got to drag it in but if we just dragged in the whole sprite then it's going to cover up the whole screen and then we have to take the off and blah blah so now we're just going to do a tiny little cube that just like pretty much makes it spawn in so just make another simple sprite just so that we can label that little cube just call that X paid icon this is a bit unnecessary but I just think it's really helpful so that I can organize myself and you know just I don't know just do a simple a simple little way of saying this is a fade and so like I don't know just like a little like a little box like that yeah but you don't need to make it super complicated okay so now just set this right to that so we're just going to send it to that now this is obviously not going to be visible so you want to click on the visible thing so that it won't be visible now the desk just taken negative 1000 total state over everything now any event and make it to where create now it destroys itself because we don't want a bunch of building up and now we need to make another object you don't actually need to always click OK when make another object you can have multiple open at this time but I just makes it a bit slower but that's totally fine then I just call it one old faded skin and this was going to be very simple just make this right the Vedas like that and make the best negative one calendar so it's over every single thing that is been the game make it visible now any events go to other animation and that means when the animation is it will do something so this one you just wanted to destroy itself very easy and a fade and creator it just creates it so dragons a little light bulb at main one and it creates the object you know fade and there you go so there we go if we want to fade it in in your room now so now you can just go to your warning screen if you ever want to fit it in your room just go like over here on the top of corner and just put in a little cube that we created and yeah so now there's gonna be a fade in now we just got to make the fade out so this uh this kind of fade out is actually very helpful now it just causes oh great - next room this means that what that once it's done fading out it would just go to the next room so then get in this case it will be fading out from the warning screen to the main menu now this helps a lot trust me a why using I want to find it's a blip and I'm pretty sure it'll help you a lot too so once again make this next negative 1000 you can keep the visible on for this one and even make it other animation end now go to your let's see means no is going on yeah mate one and drag in the middle top one right here which says go to next room some of them might say go to previous room we don't want that we wanted to go to the next room so now just press okay and go to your a warning screen and go to your arms view even and make it to where it creates it so go ahead and do that and there we go so we pretty much have our warning screen done and I'm just going to demonstrate it but and also we want to fade it in the main menu just so I can look you know just just like it look nice pretty much so just dragging the fade and Kreator like so and yeah so now just present checkmark and test your game now pretty much you know it's just if eizan shows a warning screen for about six seconds which is what i put it to and then it just goes to the next room by fading out now I know there's definitely like a better way of doing this but this is just how I do it because I really honestly don't want to coat all that because this is just more simple but I mean it takes a lot more time but it's just more simple and you know as you can see mine takes a little bit longer to load but it's just a little bit more quickly see so it fades in and choose this and then it says this game contains flashing lights jump scares and low noise play your own kiss and as you can see it was on totally cool and yeah so pretty much once we have that done you can click X and if you have something wrong just uh most of the time if you do is it if it is wrong then usually you made like a programming error so you usually just want to redo it somehow we got to make the newspaper now a very easy way to do the newspaper and game maker I know why do you guys can just go under pay them in or Photoshop or really just whatever and just do it yourself but there's a way to do it and uh you know this sprite editor and game maker so the name is just going to be called as a newspaper I'm kind of running out of breath okay so now of negative 1 to 80 bucks I'm 20 take a letter to do that I'm actually losing my pencil okay hm how'd you been talking for so long okay so now what you want to do is you want to make it white by you know just away from the white color and then each one and make you know just like the little black line just like in the original odds so start from down here just go up there oh yeah this a little bit or even just go from there go down from there you do it any way you want it doesn't matter I go from there may be there may be go from there there yeah so there you go we just have a simple simple newspaper way up now in here's is where we're going to write but oh yeah we actually have to do that first so just select the font like Times New Roman you know thought that you think would be in their newspaper you know I definitely think Times New Roman is used a lot of newspapers so let me choose that okay now 36 looks like a good a good one you could just check it by example I'm actually going to use 48 actually so you know come up with a good story so let's see um I'm not going to try and think of little one because really you know this is just a tutorial so I'm going to just put a message here all right now make sure to make exercises instead of funny just capitals everywhere I do that a lot but you know this is a game so whatever security guard is needed at the all right all right we need we need another and we're trying because I know a lot of people want to know how I made multiply an electronics so at the Rick and those yeah Rick and dog that sounds pretty good okay the Rick's and does p3 or now yeah you're probably gonna you're talking I want to get a little bit more creative because pizzeria just wait you'll reuse Korea oh and I garden he has a pizzeria to and kind of like look for the parts where you need you know you're willing to have sense send you minds right here okay yeah we need to take it up on the 2-part gonna get to that okay it's not right there oh yeah this definitely takes a little bit of time you know you just have to stay patient okay so there we go a Citterio is needed at at the risk and Doug's pizzeria all right so look over the so it's over okay so that over this is kind of my method you just kind of drag it to the side and check which part you need so to look over at the over part is when I need the hashtag sting hashtag yep okay now I will just put it after the job part there you go that's very good okay so now uh you know you could just do your regular thing I'm gonna just make a bold it's just so easy and pop out a little bit yep there we go okay yeah we're probably gonna resize this a little bit more because it's uh yeah a little bit too tiny use it okay so um you guys put some stuff like you know maybe twenty dollars an hour I don't know I'm not a huge you know I don't hire people a sixty like a 24000 for $16.50 and our yep $60 is it's so good for each hours of $16.50 an hour now just make like a like a fake kind of a phone number try not to use an extra phone number because you know that would go bad okay so like one 800 Ricky I don't know what a heavier Ricky sounds very strange is it not like one of those uh tech support scan numbers I don't know why okay there you go one 800 Ricky I just get the pen dark red text there we go and then uh yeah I'm going to transform this image because I really don't like house with you right now so yeah shift I'm going to make it down a little bit work trying to get more Spencer and then just make the skill a little bit higher yeah that's about that's about good yeah alright that's good uh so let's see okay what are we missing we are missing the vertex so I know a lot of people just go role or MLG and stuff I don't even care we're just getting it you probably want to put actual news lines like I just felt like I don't know I I'm I'm too dumb and stuff like that on my actual final birth game around it if you're looking at those feed bills uh so yeah I'm gonna spend a buck so I don't know angle gene make around it yes okay let's see alright now you want to select it with the selection tool oh it did that thing great great great okay nlg make a line deselect there we go Kay and select it maybe just cleared a few boys we go crazy with this pretty much right about there their names out there yeah I just feel crazy with it that's my only definitely always suggested just go crazy I don't have any specific way to put it and I'll see why you would need to have any specific place to put it I mean obviously don't put it in here but you know okay little more this is obviously not how I actually made my newspaper II's paint on it so it's not n as paint for are you people okay so now you pretty much just want us to what uh you know the newspaper parts so like so it's very carefully there's a lot of it apart at the top but that's totally fine so just press control-c or just use a little coffee drink we're just getting set to make sure it's copied and then just go to image and go to work and they get a large blur and I don't bore the transparency and just make sure boards the colors okay now press ok now keep doing this a number amount of times until until you're satisfied now we know it's boring the middle text I know that for sure just going on we will fix that all right I'm just going to do it like what about one more time okay that's good now just wrapping Toby to paste and we have our little home apart so then you just put that right about there as you can see we have a newspaper done now you if you want to do the little rotation you pretty much just go to rotate don't rotate it too much though okay so just like about a little bit like that and then just scale it up a little bit like that okay that's one with too much go to scale yeah alright we got it there you go okay so pretty much yeah and also I've been hearing that a lot of people really want to know how maybe the minigames that will be later on in the tutorials in later episodes so you gotta do a favor done if you want to do the rest article you can go and do that I'm actually going to do that I'm gonna use it this great tool use a little bit of harness and just okay yeah that looks a bit ugly that something down here this is so bad it okay oh my dragon you shouldn't hit that's like the worst that's like ten out of ten circles okay but whatever we're not going to face it to that okay so we got our little you know our little oh you know newspapers yes we're got the name for some reason I'm stupid okay so make another menu a create an object boy I say make another menu with the next okay just make another object quad own newspaper now make sure this is in the menus folder set it to the you know the newspaper now actually no I've got a better idea this will make it a lot easier so we thought okay doable piece of warning screen by you know just right click on it and played an OOP okay you know do all these paper and remus just changes so change the sprites in the newspaper change this variable to just like : news and then copy it and just change all the other variables to it but just take this well actually yeah keep that on okay bug goes back to the oh the create things now depending on how fast you can read it that's right how fast anyone else can read it so probably for money with you let's see how fast I can read I'm going to time myself okay minute I'm gonna get a little stop blush yeah yeah actually have to do this you don't have to you can just estimate it but whatever I'm going to do this anyways okay go okay the security guard is need at the Rick's and Doug's pizzeria to look over the restaurant over the night from told me into 6:00 a.m. if you are willing to qualify for the job please use the actually a lot easier oh yeah so there you go you have that and just press the tick mark and actually we're going to add the static so this for just the static not static bars so I'm just going to add the static like that and also gonna add it to the newspaper what's y'all that was away with wrong object static and yeah no it's about fine and remember to add the fading Creator don't forget about that okay so press other fading creative there you go not present Eckler and go to your main menu and go to your new game button and we're not actually going to be done with the we're not actually I mean we're not going to actually be making the load game but I'm so eager than with the full game because somebody I do all the saving and stuff and that definitely takes a while it definitely also take some coding which it's actually very easy to understand I actually start coding now by so use the drag and drop because you know that's my buzzes okay so I give that to your new game make it less press now when it's left breast you just wanted to create the the faith index room but just so they can't spam the bone and make a bunch of phases and to make the game push up duplicate the new game button called all new game or your score not which means that this was no function metal so you can leave on the mouse enter in the mouse we function that's totally fine I'm going to just take off the last press function into what they that way they can't press anymore so then just make it to our changes into the the new game note and make sure performance and yeah so we got that done and now so pretty much if we run to our game actually just add another room already because it's not the game is going to crash and give you an error just make another one call it rn9 one screen make the with one to eighty buy some candy like so and just leave it like that alright now just just how your game and see how it is so what's what it run not only it didn't change the name and okay now just we add a static it fades in now we already tested this but we add as a static so it looks like alright so now we got this you feel it a typical bad look once you click it you can't click it again and again but I gotta find out where it stopped right about here Yeah right about there okay and I just put the sidebars wherever you want and just like the other time just stretch it out there you go night screen okay so I'll right-click on the menus and creates right now call it a night one screen what's the Ln of n recorders and 20 minutes that's still pretty good okay so now edit the sprite make it 1 to 80 by 720 like so that deficit is definitely gonna be what we're complicated just saying okay so on this you pretty much just want to make it black you could just use white text or whatever I would do what I did for us last night one a 12:00 a.m. 12:00 a.m. of Monday there you go okay now we make this a little bit bigger like about there yeah that's good okay so now you got that done I'll just press the checkmarks let's check mark again okay but I was a simple a nice screen now you know I'm not pretty as I said before I'm not putting the most effort into these because I need to get this two out for you guys that are very much as saying you're going to definitely make better graphics with me okay if he actually work on it because for me this is a tutorial if I don't have to put the most work into it but I'm still making decent work I always always I'm not using mspaint okay okay so now make another object and call it a night screen okay once again I forgot that week is what do we just duplicate it again just do that is that I'm just going to duplicate the warning screen actually since that has six seconds already so oh nice one screen okay now uh you know change this right like the fork set the variable to just about tonight one just like twenty-two night screen because you know we're just going to duplicate it so the value of six yeah we're going to keep it at that okay I got to copy the variable and go to your alarm zero change the variables pretty much and yeah the paint out the next room is already there so I'm not I just press okay and add your night one screen to there so just go ahead select it and drag it right in so yeah we got our nice screen done now we're and if you're actually noticing where actually we don't want a escrito fada we want the screens like flash like in the original finesse games so imma teach you guys how to do that so press the checkmark we pretty much got done with that we just have to make the flush so we got to make a new sprite put it in the others folder because you know we don't really know what it could be used for it to be just enough anything so close screen flash there we go okay edit this right now you're going to learn make it one to you by 720 now click this little paper icon three times so one two three now this just makes it to where you have four frames so at each frame so I'm going to go to my first frames you should get the line tool and just make like a few lines and just some random line okay be sure to use a thicker one that's a lot of easier so like that like that right here and right here okay and then this is the fill tool and is still in those so we got one frame now make another one by clicking the little arrow so just make another frame like so and we are going to do the animatronic in the menu don't worry I have not forgotten that oh let's see actually what's kind of about two previous re-hit okay so I'm gonna just make a few lines and just fill them in I'm actually gonna do it like not another one because I know with yours it what what the heck what oh wait yeah it's like this okay so as you can see the frames are kind of different alright and this we're probably going to do like really thin lines so okay so that one has a little very okay so few thin lines maybe we make a sick one over here right about there up there right about there okay so let's speak does this look similar oh yeah definitely looks different there we go okay and just make the last one and so you probably want to make small ones or just big ones it really doesn't matter I'm just going to make a few like three worms like so freaked okay there we go there you go and there we go okay so I'm gonna just do it right there right there and right there okay so now if you uh yeah LFC warning and you show your preview and makes a little flinch but it's obviously just repeating so you know that's when we have to actually do stuff in the game so make another icon and just call it a screen screen flash icon all right okay yeah all right it just looks for you all right and it's right make a school image and just make it you know just show where you trying to say so I'm just a little line right there with a little line right there small line right here this is show this is a flash creature okay yeah I just press okay now go to your other and right click and press create object now call it as Oh created flash and you know put the spread on so screen flash make the best negative 1000 an event we actually put that an event animation end and to our just destroys itself okay so yeah I'm just going to organize a little bit okay and then you want to make another object and call this one oh screen flash creator because this one creates a screen flash and then just use a screen flash icon make it not visible make it maybe 1000 an event creates create instance of the screen flash and destroy itself afterwards okay so yeah we got that in this but now whenever you add the vo screen flash creator it will make the screen flush when it when it goes into the room so just add that right in go to other screen flush creator there we go okay so we're pretty much done with this and then we just got to add the electronic into the menu and while this was just going to drink some water okay so pretty much arrogance or doesn't get a look a lot better I know so many times and yeah I'm very good if you're using this thorough thank you once again if you are so warning this game contains flashing lights jump scares and loud noises play at your own risk and then you just give this so just click new game and as we put just wait about 12 seconds and we put the little static okay so now we should've stayed out soon and it will flash the screen for the night one screen so just hold on a little bit almost there see it looks cool alright and obviously it's gonna oh yeah I misplaced it okay and yeah if this color for you don't worry you just didn't have a room after it so just click abort now make another room and just call it RM night one so in right one just call it and I 1:08 this night one okay so call it so make it one to 80 record 20 and yeah okay so uh what else doing this oh yeah the animatronic okay so I made a 100 animatronic as you can see when we just go into my desktop okay just one on a second it's taking a while for some reason videos we find it there it is okay so I made at his name is Rick's and he's pretty much a cat slash dog hybrid mostly a cat but yeah so I have to make three images at least uh so this was just one image this was just a slightly Bush out of it and this one's like a superb which that in there so pretty much it's getting to look like this so together you like glitching out sort of so it's going to give it a nice effect so open up your main menu folder and close out all the other folders and right click create sprite now I'll call it s a trick and menu now obviously you don't put Rick you put you know your animatronics name now go your desktop go your things wait hold on wrong folder of any wrong one of the Nakatomi and assets okay and drag it and just quibble it's right select both select all three now it's obviously in almost like this we I wanted to look like that I mean it was if you do okay so we probably want to copy and paste this frame for about maybe about 10 times so one two three four five six seven eight nine ten so then it's going to go kind of like this alright so I give it a slight glitch and then we want to go here copy it now we copy this paste it then copy one is a normal one paste it to the very end and delete the very West frame wait what else oh crap I didn't actually select the right one so paste it and then delete the last frame okay so then you can just copy the last name for about one two three four five six seven and as far as going to be like super glitchy so let's get with what she won with you when we find it we use a scrolling wheel now it does do this I don't know why if I kind of like seizures kind of thing okay there it is there's one one okay to actually make another one let me find the glitch okay there is uh one one two let's see this one copy one two three and get the last carrot and then yes so real once you have like a simple glitching so there's no Sun stamp dun dun dun dun now you can just pretty much do it to where you add a reverse uh I'm not sure I want to do that because it can cause problems so I'm just going to leave it like that but you can do that because since I am recording it's easing from my RAM and if I use the add reverse it might crash the game so well the program making the game okay so I'm going to save like I did there and just right click on create an object call it Oh ribbon menu and check how much the main menu overlay is the like negative one so yeah make the death negative one okay so now I just set this right - another brick in menu and don't put any events or anything just leave it like that and then just go tonight oh no not night one main menu actually call this main menu underscore normal for purposes you we're not going to like actually modify it it's good since really maybe like three menus you know one for like say night six and in another word for like you know another thing I don't know okay so I added Rick right there and you have you looks nicer so then just just press check marks oh yeah and I'm going to go to the night one screen because I kind of messed up the thing I always much like black over here I don't know why oh yeah is because it doesn't really have a
