[Music] over the past 100 years skyscrapers have become an integral part of the biggest cities in the world in addition to the economic viability skyscrapers often serve as a symbol of modernization and become a reference point for a city's progress this fascination with building higher and higher isn't showing any signs of stopping and plants for future skyscrapers are becoming more and more ambitious today we will compare the sizes of eight of the tallest future skyscrapers before we move forward make sure to like this video and subscribe to top luxury let us know in the comments below which of these future skyscrapers is your favorite number 8. shenzhen tower formerly known as the china gate shenzhen tower is planned to be 642 meters tall and will become the tallest building in china upon completion the tower shape is sleeker than other recent megatall structures it incorporates v-shaped angled recesses at both the base and the crown the design was inspired by traditional chinese buildings especially those that can be found in the city of shenzhen plants for this dazzling skyscraper were submitted in 2016 but no construction date nor any other development of note has materialized the shenzhen tower if completed will surpass asia's current tallest skyscraper the 632 meter shanghai tower however it will not be as tall as the next skyscraper on our list which is also located in asia number 7 merdeka pnb-118 malaysia formerly famous for the incredible patronus twin towers is now home to an even taller skyscraper the merdeka pnb-118 this 644 meter megatall skyscraper in kuala lumpur is set to become the face of a new modern and developed malaysia the tower's name design and location are an homage to malaysian independence its shape resembles the silhouette of tunku abdul rahman when he raised his right hand and chanted the word merdeka meaning freedom while standing at the same location from where the merdeka 118 will rise the tower topped out in october 2020 and is set to be completed in 2022 after brief covet 19 related delays it is for the time being the second tallest building in the world however the merdeka tower will be dwarfed by a number of future skyscrapers most of them in the middle east number 6 dubai one tower dubai set the benchmark for tall buildings in 2009 with the completion of the burj khalifa the tallest building in the world but it seems like dubai is not done setting records just yet with plans to build more skyscrapers in the city underway one of those is the dubai one tower a 711 meter tall mega skyscraper that will be the tallest residential skyscraper in the world the project will also set the record for the world's highest sky restaurant at 675 meters the proposed 360 degree observation deck is also set to be higher than that of the burj khalifa the construction of the dubai one tower first started in 2016 but faced several delays construction on the tower will restart in september of 2021 with the estimated completion time set for 2027. the skyscraper is a part of the wider maidon 1 development which will eventually house over 80 000 residents while the height of the tower seems incredible it will feel a lot smaller when compared to the next few future skyscrapers on this list as they will all break the 1000 meter barrier when completed number 5 burj mubarak al-kabir the destination for the first proposed skyscraper to rise beyond 1 000 meters in the sky is kuwait burj mubarak al-kabir will stand at a height of 1001 meters as a reference to the classic middle eastern folk tale 1001 arabian nights the skyscraper will be the centerpiece of the 80 billion development madinat al-harir or the city of silk the design consists of three interlocked towers that will provide support against 200 kilometer per hour winds each one of the three towers built like blades will twist 45 degrees for strength and then expand at the top giving the skyscraper more usable space near the top as compared to other megatall skyscrapers the building was proposed initially in 2007 but the construction on the tower will not start until 2023 with the expected completion date set around 2030. it is one of the three future skyscrapers in the middle east that will soar over one kilometer into the sky however it will be surpassed by the other two super tall structures in saudi arabia and dubai number 4 jeddah tower now we move to jeddah where the famous jedha tower is under construction rising up to at least 1 000 meters the skyscraper is part of saudi arabia's push to diversify the country's economy towards tourism the construction on the jetta tower started in 2013 and was due to be completed in 2018. however the 2017 saudi arabian purge caused major construction issues and the work on the building stopped the construction is currently on hold and there hasn't been any official date for its completion at the time of stopping the tower had already risen to 252 meters the people behind the project are adamant that the construction will restart soon and the tower will become the tallest skyscraper in the future however even if the jetta tower is completed it still might not be the tallest building in the world maybe not even in the middle east this is because the jetta tower was being built as a response to an even taller structure in dubai the dubai creek tower number three the dubai creek tower the united arab emirates seems to be committed to keeping the title of the world's tallest building within the country the dubai creek tower will be constructed just eight kilometers away from the burj khalifa there hasn't been any official word on the final height of the tower because the officials want it to be taller than the jetta tower however multiple reports suggest that the building will rise to 1 350 meters the dubai creek tower is meant to stand as both a national monument and a cultural destination the tower's prime usage will be as an observation point with the whole structure only housing 20 floors just like the jetta tower the construction on the dubai creek tower also stopped in 2018 with no indication of a resumption the building's contractor has insisted that the tower will be completed in 2022 number 2 sky mile tower tokyo one of the most advanced mega cities in the world is planning to go a step further and virtually pierce the skies with an ambitious initiative called next tokyo 2045. the main attraction of the futuristic project is the sky mile tower which will climb to a tremendous height of 1700 meters more than twice the height of the burj khalifa the building was conceived with the disastrous impacts of global warming and future natural disasters in mind the tower will support a hexagonal design and will naturally have extended periods of vibrations to minimize the wind pressures at such immense heights the design intended to house 55 000 occupants is a response to urban migration trends that forecast the world's population living in cities to double by 2050. as evident from the project's title the skyscraper is planned to open in 2045 giving it ample time to incorporate the most revolutionary technologies in its design a mile into the sky might seem like the limit to human ambition and imagination but that's not the case because across the ocean from japan the americans might just go a step further number one time squared 3015 the usa kept the ownership of the tallest skyscrapers in the world for more than 100 years until the petronas towers took that title away but with plans of a huge 1733 meter tall tower underway the united states of america is aiming to once again become the destination of the tallest skyscraper in the world the design was put forward in the 2015 architectural design contest and while there's been no serious thought given to it yet the details of the hypothetical skyscraper are jaw-dropping the time-squared design takes vertical living to the next level and stacks shopping malls beaches and even mountains on top of each other residents will have a beach or a redwood forest right in their own backyard a shopping mall or the latest football game are just an elevator ride away the design seems from another world and that's probably why it's set far in the future in 3015. bringing the concept to reality may seem impractical at this time but with the rapid pace at which the world keeps changing it isn't out of the question and when we talk of skyscrapers reaching new heights it's said to be that the sky's the limit so what do you think about the tallest skyscrapers of the future which of these projects impressed you the most let us know in the comments below if you enjoyed this video make sure to hit the
