need to have eyes for goal he was a bit slow to decide what to do there wasn't he Nicholas Jackson he had a lot of space to run into and then turned back and gave Matty cash the opportunity to get back and defend against him really Open start to the game we've seen John mcino down the left hand side and Jackson exploiting Aston Villa's High Line getting in behind Matty cash hopefully there's plenty of more of that to come tonight they were four up in 20 minutes at Sheffield United it's the Premier League record an away team Yuri Tans who was interviewed before the game said what you look looking for tonight and take from that game he said the early goal was off and running it's Bailey and mcin is Luis now M cash an adventurous right back might be an offside here there might not be le to a goal so the flag has stayed down the way Aston Villa play the two wide players do narrow off Bailey and M they come quite Central make it a box Midfield at times so there is space for the fullbacks to get forward and Matty cash loves to do that and Alex Moreno does as well he was one of the scorers at the weekend it's not unheard of for this filler lineup for two fullbacks to combine no as Watkins didn't interfere did he Villa won the first five of 10 FA Cup meetings between these two clubs six withdrawn Chelsea won the next three including a final in 2000 and the semi-final in not I think he wanted to go but there's a lot of talk for financial reasons that we're hearing a lot of talk about at the moment that Chelsea might have to cash in on his talent fans would have been up in arms I think there he is on the scene there after the challenge by Jackson it does seem strange doesn't it where the recruitment has been to bring in a lot of really good young players you can understand that but sacrificing some of your own homegrown players players cost nothing and all the others the ones brought in cost zillions and that is something that football's going to have to come Kono of course tonight Aston Villa that's a big loss started of the Premier League games this season either at Center back or at right back versatile all of them including emy's games last season as well so he's um win the league games KCK off again at the weekend he maybe a more noted absence particular astonvilla playing Manchester United turn of pal Torres I guess if he's fit enough to be on the bench tonight he might be fit enough to be in contention for a place in the starting 11 the [Applause] [Applause] weekend have lost only two of their last 17 games in all competitions they are very much uh in the image of their very popular head coach here's Jackson though trying to unhinge Villa here he gets it across Gallagher plants it in first goal in the tie and it's Chelsea numbers in the box and the 6,000 visiting fans are delighted with Chelsea start here just past the 10-minute Mark it's an excellent finish as well from Connor Gallagher it's been a promising start from the visitors they' pressed well they win the ball back inside Aston Villa's half and then can they break gallaga sets Jackson away but doesn't stop and adar's pass he gets himself into the box where it matters and first time he plants it past Emmy Martinez really cooly taken effort from Connor gallager the goalkeeper has got no chance as I say it's been a really encouraging start from Chelsea and they've got their reward first time and first goal of the Season which is extraordinary for a player of his attacking instincts from Midfield good start for pochettino's team not just the goal but the far tonight those words seem to have hit the sweet spot but it's always a combined effort isn't it you know the manager tends to be the one that pays with his job but players need to take responsibility as well so they certainly started this game very well were rattled by Newcastle here the last game on this ground has played after the first FA Cup tie between the two the Newcastle thorough deserved to win that [Applause] 3-1 best part of a year since Aston vill suffered the feat at [Music] home saw that I they've won all but one and they in the Premier League here at Villa Park back in those times Chelsea are the last representative from uh it used to be known as the smoke and it would be smoke free the FA Cup if Chelsea were to lose tonight but they've uh made a good impression so far I suggest that London fans might have somebody to follow through of course last time they got to The League Cup Final they also got to the FA Cup Final as well but lost both the same opponents Liverpool tightest of matches Fernandez squeezing a pass Palmer has held his position to stay on side fans gets it away but not very Faro cama couple of pirouettes Villa gave the ball away again in Midfield got a couple of loose passes a couple of square balls that have been cut [Applause] out Chelsea's free [Applause] kick Chelsea fans 6,300 made their way to Villa Park Joell room for Jackson the ball on this left hand side position found it just an awkward height he's found a lot of space down this left hand side Nicholas Jackson mattity Cash pushing in on on Ben cha leaving that spacing behind for Jackson to run into and he's done that [Applause] well see how advanced Gallagher is and it's often been the case under platino he hadn't scored until tonight he one of the strangest facts about uh Chelsea's problems this season that goes Jo well does the job very [Applause] neatly too many players left from the three consecutive FA Cup Final defeats they've taken their accurately generally aimed at a team rather than an individual they they know they haven't pulled up the trees that they're expected to but it could be it's poliy of buying young players and turning Chelsea was dominant in the first half of the match Aston Villa came back strongly in the second this been a really good start from the visitors considering the last couple of results they're playing for him and it's not undeserved astonvilla nil Chelsea too well you said it moments ago every time Chelsea go forward they look like scoring they look like opening Aston Villa up space again for delivery into the box look how their fullbacks are get him Gusto delivers chilwell's making his way into the box and because of chilwell's run mattity cash actually leaves Nicholas Jackson because he's aware of chilwell's Presence by doing so Jackson's free six yards out and he makes no mistake and it's a difficult one that because you're not quite sure if the defender is going to touch it or not he doesn't Jackson keeps his eyes on it and he finds the bottom corner this is a brilliant start from Chelsea that's a really controlled head up and also you mentioned uh coner the effect of his absence and I think we're seeing it already in the fulum at the back really everybody else has come and had a a stint at it P Torres was probably the preferred partner dieo caros has played more football this season he missed most of last season through injury long L's had a run now of eight and nine games but wasn't close before that blue is the color well even the most optimistic Chelsea fan wouldn't have expected it the 20 minute Mark that they'd be two goals to the good Pinch Me moment as they're going on [Music] there it's a long time since it did beat Chelsea in the fa C and there could be more trouble here CAU again looking for well three or four who are [Applause] arriving shocked I would say another Square pass given away there by John mcin Cole Palmer was the intended target for that well for the cut back and the pass through Aston Viller in Midfield have really he struggled playing twoo many square but balls that Chelsea are reading and Nick [Applause] him saying most play have gone strong with their selection it's just that little bit as strong as your weakest link and it looks as though Aston Villa have a weak Link at the back they been C apart with relative done it so freely so with the parentes of course it's as simple as that but the seem to have caught emy's team out with their willingness to get people forward and take risks take people on as Jackson's doing here he just ran out of room this this time well if they're going to play this way Aston Villa Diego Carlos has got to get across quicker to Nicholas Jackson because he's getting in down this left hand side every single [Applause] time Chelsea have had a tough season hasn't been too many bumps in the Aston Villa Road but experiencing one here then for by the youth who the scores Jackson just 22 number 23 gallager is 23 again camera has not had a good start to the game at all he keeps giving it away it's another Square pass in Midfield and and Chelsea got numbers in there way they've set the team up cedo Fernandez and Connor Gallagher there's lots of bodies a g sent off in that home defeating the league to Villa he's got a bit of debt to repay and he's planted a beautiful cross for the second [Applause] goal was a Temptation I guess in this situation with Chelsea think we've got two put away now they can slow the tempo down a little bit but I'm not sure that would be the wisest thing they could really put it to bed before halftime if they keep playing the way they did for the first 20 [Applause] minutes this is their preferred build up isn't it with camera coming to this right hand side making it a back three he's giving it away [Applause] again Gallagher gillwell drive it hard and low towards [Applause] Palmer long leg that's not really a completed pass the confidence flowing through the veins of the Chelsea players who have looked devoid of it nervous not sure of whether they'll be in the team the next week or not a bit of a consistency in selection way up the ladder getting a prime FA Cup that's been beamed around the world here I played 200 much years ago it wasn't a foul K well it's worth a try yeah just drags his shot it did open up for him never ever troubling Emmy [Applause] [Applause] Martinez last beat Chelsea in the FA Cup back in 1960 and it was a fourth round tie and tonight they're going to have to do it the very hard way and the very spectacular way cedo the semi-finals with Brighton last season gallager it's a nicely weighted pass getting down the sides it will Chelsea and and Nicholas Jackson have found so much space in the wide areas the fullbacks as [Applause] well just a little bit of the tempo has gone out of it when Chelsea do get the [Applause] turnovers making sure perhaps that everyone has a mind on defending a two goal lead which has been earned fine flowing football yeah I think that's probably the thing that's pleased poino the most intensity in Tempo that his team have played at whereas for unai Emory it's been the opposite and he' be unhappy with the giveaways particularly in Midfield just for the record astonvilla have scored in their last 38 games here so Chelsea would be taking nothing for granted anyway but that that rather is I believe that great start here and it has been that doesn't necessarily equal a great result Peter banks in the v situation information into that air through the a piece when required camera going in Manu the battle of the number 11s Watkins doesn't give it up Manu still going well that sums up really what we've seen so far Villa wilting Chelsea profiting Martinez Paris away from Palmer it's a hunger and a desire that we haven't seen too often from Chelsea maybe just the cup takes a bit of the pressure off they straightforward passage in the third round against Championship side Preston North End 4-nil they played well enough in the first game against Villa could have brought them a win on another day but they really judged this uh potential top four team for years and years and years now that they're in the lower half of the table about this from a run from madw second favorite yet he just shrugs Douglas Luise off and he's away Co Palmer's effort on that right hand side again cutting in on his left trying to open the goal up bit of curl from Cole that meants to go to halftime in by chill well this year GL going for it Miss by kaedo now a turnover that vill might be able to use their but don't get very far thanks to Gallagher's challenge he does that so well hustle and bust all the energy it's got him from being a bit part player at Chelsea loaned out hither and lither into the England squad and at times captain of Chelsea now you mentioned it it's his first goal tonight and that's something that he will be judged on as well he had a great loan spell at Crystal Palace where he scored [Applause] plenty Chelsea fans still in very good voice inwardly after the season they've been watching particularly in away matches they'll be thinking all this last as you said at the start that six of the last seven away games unry would have factored that in fortino knows all about has Miller's home record so it's gone against the grain of Statistics but that's why football is so wonderful in the FA Cup in particular of its capacity to not follow a logical [Applause] pattern Fernandez and Tan's having a rare old tussle here yeah who got the last touch that's the question don't think that provided the answer we know what he thinks the corner has been been given and if B were to get a foo back in the game from this there be some Chelsea complaints that's for sure in towards Watkins a bit low for a any sort of glancing touch Gusto moving up to his name a little bit of extra tension coming into it at the moment it's back end of last year made his debut for France looking for Diego Carlos [Applause] confirmed just a stage where the referee might feel he's got to do that not just for the incident itself but just to keep a lid on a sour SP of football that was just about to boil over [Applause] B shields in the team because Thiago Silva's been left out and that was one of the big news that when the teams were announced you see that the wide areas have been a real outlet for Chelsea particularly down the right hand side I mean we talked about Jackson down the left and how much space he's had but all right even more effective Bailey had a look up to see what was on in the middle he could have crossed it earlier but he didn't see anything that was worthy of the attempt sometimes you just got to put it in there and moan at your teammates if they don't get there this [Applause] header toell and Jackson Nas Lis two well again home to lead United remember the winners in round five FA Cup historian you remember certain FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Le United if it was valued by or rated by those who do that sort of thing for Cinema films it would get X wouldn't it especially the first game and uh Chelsea quite proud of their records in replays in the FA Cup and that is a big replay of course all those years ago 1970 Tans by Herer B Shield by Gallagher brought down it's been difficult for Alex Mora as it has been for Matty [Applause] cash well their natural instinct is to get forward they both like to play but in doing so they're leaving a lot of space for Chelsea they've had to do a lot of running back towards their own goal [Applause] [Music] Jackson it's more through the middle now could get his goal from a a proper Center forwards position Palmer why that has changed it was so successful Jackson on the left wasn't it the goal encouraged him goal scorers want to go where they've got the better chance of scoring Chelsea haven't been quite as bright down this left hand side since he moved infield B isue hao in between the two center backs almost as if halim is now on Chelsea's mind minutes plus to [Applause] go thought he was fouled and some of his teammates did as well but's been very consistent always tried to keep the game going much in the Howard Webb way of trying to get these younger officials philosophy that enforces the laws but doesn't lose the spirit of the game we love so much and the aggression always been part of the attraction as long as it's properly applied been impressed with the work rate of the two wide players for Chelsea as well M way could just track him back with mcin and Leon Bailey narrowing in off those flags there is space out wide because the two fullbacks have to deal with those two players but M Waker and Jackson have trapped back to really good effect G had a marvelous season he's hardly been in the picture Douglas Luis likewise camera probably had his worst 45 minutes of the campaign but that's down to Chelsea in their work rate their application their thought process the game plan as they call it carefully thought out and energetically applied B was a foul it's just late on pre Diego Carlos he's getting frustrated trying to make the ball in front of Nicholas Jackson a couple of times now [Music] P Shi not quite getting the ankle right CH well appreciated the thought but not the execution in recent years the FA Cup hasn't been very kind to Aston Villa or their performances haven't been kind to their Ambitions in the FA Cup regularly fallen in the third or fourth round and it looks as though might be the end of the road this season they need to get the next goal perhaps to stop that happening and uh see what Chelsea are made of when they do concede if they do concede that just about sums up Aston is night though doesn't it the ball bouncing back off Moreno to go out for a goal kick he needs Hal time and need it quickly by uh recent standers couple of minutes is quite a short period the Chelsea to negotiate to keep their clean sheet to add to their two impressive goals be possibly involved in the inquest as to what they can do now to try and undermine what they've seen from Chelsea without actually getting into a more catastrophic position that's the difficulty it's a foul throw by J Welles dropped the ball really quick throw from cash the Watkins here's M well you're just starting to wonder whether a mistake like that a foul throw is sort of in keeping with what's been happening to Chelsea in the majority of games and it could have led to a villa goal right on halime here there was a slight touch wasn't the from Petrovic but it was a save you'd expect him to make straight at him not MC's best effort the last passage of play for the halftime whistle with the corner Mareno again not what was required not by a distance they have won that near post flick on a couple of times though and it is halime and arguably the best 45 minutes that the new Chelsea have produced this season it's com in this FA Cup replay Conor Gallagher at last getting on the score sheet I think it might be a bit easier for them to play away from home away from the demands of Chelsea fans particularly those who've been there for just a 20 years of silverware man is a good following here tonight very gooda fans are the most dedicated ones and probably the most understanding ones the players tend to think like that sometimes bigger allocation in the cup as well don't you can they pick up where they left off it wasn't quite full intensity right halim but I would argue well we've got the two goals we do think we can cope with what Villa have got because Villa tonight haven't looked anything like the Villa has been on show here home game after home game but not in the last one maybe something from the Newcastle Playbook potini poino took on board here I just wonder whether at halim you with been tempted to S go to a back three bring pal Torres on don't know how pity he is and whether he's able to how much he' be able to get out of him but with Chelsea being such a threat in those wide areas just to try to negate that yeah no changes at halftime I I the camp feel they need something early don't they get themselves back into this get and their Bel back speaking prior to the original tie about how much the FA Cup means to munai Emory wants to give the fans something will be in keeping with the history much of which is in the last century when ASV of course one of the four runners the development of professional football in England he's a how do that Splendid half the Chelsea press conference yesterday about Villa having a day not quite a full day cuz they played a 5 30 kickoff but certainly a bit more recovery time was the other chelse yeah it was the other way around there wasn't it in the in the first game I think V had a longer break and Chelsea had only played what three days before players like play don't they I mean it's it means one less training session as long of cost as they're in the team and that's been the issue for poino question he's regularly asked do you know your best team this 11 putting a statement out that might be up for being called that making the case it's much easier to pick Aston ville's strongest 11 T little things like that only 2-0 down I'm sure the Villa players would be thinking well Chelsea have lost his game conceded eight goals we're at least going to score tonight um however professional you are you still have those personal feelings we should be favorites to win this moment they're anything but again to POS himself a bit more it's bending away from maro's run we see the tracking again though from M he track Mareno all the way work rate has been [Applause] impressive that's the very least young players should be able to give you this is overstressing the point a very youthful Chelsea they've had young teams with a lot of success down the years great to producer of talent from the London area in the 50s and 60s long leg Morena again and impressive defending diasi lovely touch from Palmer man it's on the move again gz made a run down the inside right chent but he couldn't quite reverse it back there Enzo Fernandez oh Gallagher just switched off for a moment I think T hadn't Chelsea could be in again here Gallagher T pal a good block Moreno two players in there they didn't make the most of that did they Chelsea had a couple of options on the counter Jackson made a really good run you mentioned gallager Jackson was on as well it's the numbers forward when they do get thees transitional phases that is a feature of the modern game we just had the Premier League highest number of goals in a round of fixtures last weekend 45 in 10 games unfortunately scored five of those unfortunately Chelsea conceded four of them from that point of view as Enzo Fernandez a Tock it was picked but it was a foul by Yuri Tans score of a winning goal in an FA Cup Final I just wondered how Chelsea would approach it in this second half would they sit and allow as to come on to them try and see this game through doesn't seem to be the case he started on the front foot I think if you can see the but was in the last two games you're probably not thinking that's the way to go necessarily attack the best form of defense is one of the old cliches yeah but your natural instinct sometimes is to just try and protect what you've [Applause] got here's Thiago Silva not needed for protection yet but maybe later on a little bit of HOA with some publicity about social media being used by Mrs
