Full how to video: The BEST method for automating Instagram Reels!!!

do you ever wish you could just drop all your video files into a folder and that folder would post all your videos to all of your social media platforms automatically well let me show you how to do that right now the first thing we are going to do is head over to my website it is Sleepy camonster.com sdigital Toolbox will bring you to the relevant web page to find these tools that I use in my workflows scroll down and find this one called make I'm going to sign into my account here we are in my make.com account I'm going to go over to the left side click on scenarios we can see a list of my active scenarios going to start a new scenario just like my last video we'll run through these modules but I won't explain how to set up the connections for each individual module make.com has lots of tutorials and videos they even have an academy where you can learn how to do this stuff really cool if you just get on the make.com academy what we're going to do is set up the first module here I just want to point out how many modules make.com actually has there are a ton of different modules in here that you can use to automate anything you want to do so if you have any of these apps or Services you can most likely find the module inside of make.com to automate anything you want so with this huge list if we want to find anything in here all we have to do is come down and search for it so I'll type in Google to find Google Drive so the first operation here we want is to watch files in a folder and that will start up our first module as I mentioned this connection here I use this Google February 5th connection that I set up make.com has lots of video tutorials explaining how to set up these connections so I won't go into that in this video the first thing we want to do with this module we want to set to watch files Modified by time I'm going to choose my Google Drive now for Google Drive you actually need a Google drive folder where you will be dropping these files into so let's just take a look real quick at my Google Drive so this is my Google Drive you can see I have all of my folders in my Google Drive and this automation dump is the relevant folder I will be using this is my drive folder and in inside I have automation dump that's where I place any files I want to be automated so I have my image folder here this is what we worked with my last video and my video folder here so I'm going to be dropping in my video files straight into my folder to start off this automation chain okay so I'm going to navigate to that folder in this first module I have my drive and I will choose automation dump and inside of automation dump I have my video folder we're going to watch for all files and set a limit to two hit okay that one is done and we want to start from now on being that this is the first module we need to set a schedule for when this entire scenario chain will run I'm going to set the schedule to be every day at let's do this one at 632 p.m. looks good every day 6:32 p.m. this scenario will activate and look for files inside of this folder and run if it finds any files so our next module this one is going to be again Google Drive we now need to download a file from Google Drive you can see my same connection here the file ID we want to find we'll go ahead and enter that manually the file ID will be the file ID okay if you don't understand how that works this no code drag and drop stuff is super awesome super fun you know you can see a list of all the operations that this Google drive module can do don't need to really know how it works as long as you're choosing these for the purposes of this video this scenario will operate and you can just keep following along to get it done so we want to find the file ID and that file ID is the ID of that file we dropped in okay that's it for Google Drive we can move on to Discord I'm going to search for the Discord module we want to send that file to Discord now a lot of people asked me in the last video why are you using Discord this seems like an unnecessary step and the reason I use Discord to host my files is Instagram's API actually needs a URL to be able to post from so whether you're posting images videos or whatever Instagram is going to need a URL for that file you can host your URLs wherever you want however you want but I like to use Discord it seems to run the best for me because I'm a visual person I can see all my files right there posted to one of my Discord channels so I use Discord to host my files to get those URLs so that Instagram's API can grab that URL and be able to post from it so we are going to send that message to Discord and the channel ID is going to be my automation pass through okay again this Discord connection is something I set up beforehand I won't go into that but I will show you my automation pass through Channel and how I have my Discord set up here we are in my Discord I've got my own server here and I've created a channel called automation pass through this my mid Journey Channel I come here and do all my mid Journey stuff and I have this Channel that I only use for sending these a automations this is where all of these messages will be sent and I can host those URLs for example this last one I did let's just take a look if I right click on it I can of course copy link and grab that URL so that is what we are using Discord for all right let's pop back over to make.com so here we are we've got my Discord connection we've located my automation pass through Channel and we want to send a message now I'm going to click this button down here for this one to show advanced settings we want to send not only a text message but we also want to send a file that we've just downloaded from Google Drive so I'm going to show Advanced options first of all our message is going to be the file name I just like to keep things organized I can see the file name right there in my Discord so I'm going to send the file name so I know which one it is and I'm also going to send the file I'm just going to click file it's going to automatically pop up with that Google Drive operation this Google drive module to download a file hit okay on that one Discord is done so let's move on to the next one this one is open AI this is chat GPT and this one we're going to have chat GPT do some text editing for us we're going to take that file name turn it into a title which then becomes a caption for our Instagram post so what we want to do for chat GPT whenever you ask chat GPT a question essentially that is called a completion chat GPT is going to give you back and answer so that is essentially what is called a completion so we want to create a completion and you can see here again this connection I named it GPT connection this is what I set up with chat GPT previously again all those videos from make.com on how to set up your individual modules just click online help right here so what we want to do is create a chat completion and the model we're going to use is this GPT 3.5 turbo kind of the standard model for these chat completions and the message we want to take on the role so you can take on different roles in chat GPT if you want to give chat GPT instructions but we want to take on the role not of the system but of the user we're asking a question and our message is going to be first of all the Discord cont 10 again if you don't understand how these buttons and selections are actually working don't worry about it just yet you know practicing this stuff you'll understand how to find this information but for now just select these items and this scenario will work great so what we want to do is take our content which is the file name and the file and we want to have chat GPT rewrite this file name without the MP4 extension and provide no other text okay so we're asking chat GPT to rewrite this file name as just a name we're just going to use this file name as a title or in this case a caption for our Instagram post okay so this is an important distinction to make right here the way that I use this setup is I will name my files whatever I want the caption to be on my Instagram post okay so you can name your files something long something fancy get a nice long caption in there so that looks good for chat GPT we can hit okay there and add our next module next module is going to be Google Sheets this is my upload queue that I want to be connecting with so I will pop over to that actual Google sheet or you have to get on Google Sheets and create that sheet so that you can connect to it here we are in my Google sheet file so this first row is my header row I've got my accounts that I want to be using I've got the title or the caption that I'm going to put in my post the URL taken from Discord and the hashtags that I want to use in my post now I have a another box out here where I can write a manual caption if I want to add to my caption it will add to this title and create a length your caption if I want to type something in here then run this scenario so the account that I will be posting to is my SE monster shorts account we have to remember here that we will be using row number six and post to se monster shorts okay and then I have my hashtags here that I want to use for this account already plugged in there and nothing in column b or column C the title or the URL because we haven't posted anything yet so nothing it's showing up there so row number six is what we want to affect in our scenario you can see here this is my upload Q Google sheet and I've named this sheet upload Q upload Q upload Q let's go ahead and do that again we're going to add this module Google Sheets and what we want to do is update a row and we'll select this sheet by path this is again my same connection so inside of my Google Drive we can navigate to my sheet it's in my Google Sheets folder there it is upload Q the name again upload q and the row we want to affect is row number six all right so right here I will type in row number six does the table contain headers yes it does so those headers pop up row number one as headers account title URL hashtags and caption okay so we can put these things in here for row number six the account we can leave blank that is already written down for us the title we want to grab from chat GPT so we're going to come over to chat GPT and find the choices the message and the message content okay that is our title the URL is going to be that URL from Discord so we want the Discord attachments URL hashtags we already have I've have manually typed those in here and the captions we don't want anything here any extra captions now we have updated our row number six with the title and the URL okay on that one and create our next module now we need to create two new modules because we need to do things with that row we are going to get a cell same Google sheet same connection upload Q we want to get the hashtags to add to our caption for the Instagram post so the hashtags are in D6 so let's grab D6 and hit okay and we'll do the same thing for the manual caption so we want to get a cell upload queue we want to get cell E6 any additional captions that you want to manually type in here so I'll put E6 and hit okay now the next module is of course Instagram for business and we want to create a real post so this connection I have here my meta connection it's very involved process to set up your Facebook account with your Instagram account you actually need to go in and create business Facebook pages and connect those pages to your Instagram accounts okay I won't go over that in this video that's something we can talk about in another video but it is kind of a process to get through definitely have to get through it if you want to do any kind of automation with Instagram whatsoever so in this case we need it for make.com going to need it for other types of automation you're going to need it set up for other types of Integrations so definitely get those Facebook pages set up and your Instagram accounts connected so I've gone ahead and done that of course lots of online help here from make.com the page I want to post to is Sleepy sea monster shorts now we can put in our video URL here we have two places to grab this URL we put it into the spread spreadsheet so we can grab the URL from the spreadsheet or we can go back and grab that URL from Discord to keep it easy I'll do the same thing here I'll go attachments grab that URL and for the caption we're going to want the title that chat GPT made for us so we want the choices message and the message content we want to add any additional caption information that we manually type in to our Google sheet so we need to get the value from that cell E6 that is this third Google Sheets operation right here this third Google Sheets module we want to get that value for additional captions and then at the bottom of our post we want to add our hashtags which is our second Google module here finding the hashtags we have our text output from chat GPT any men caption you want to add from Google Sheets and our hashtags I'm going to zoom in here again and just look at these video requirements for Instagram shows the file type audio all this information specifications so as long as you're keeping your videos Within These specifications here Instagram will be able to post maximum pixel Dimension aspect ratio all of that stuff needs to meet these specifications also this note right here this is the reason we are using Discord Instagram's API cannot download files straight from Google Drive so we need a publicly accessible URL so that Instagram can grab those files and that is the reason we use Discord like I said you can use any service to host your URLs but Instagram's API cannot download Straight from Google Drive so that is it for Instagram we'll hit okay on that the last thing I want to do is go back into Google Drive and delete that file so that it's out of my Google Drive you know things don't get confusing and I don't have a bunch of files stacking up so after it's posted I want to delete it any files that I want to keep and save I make copies of and save them before I drop them into my folder so that I know that I'm keeping good files or anything I want to save right so after this scenario runs I want to delete my file I will move a file or folder to the trash same Google Drive connection and that file I want to remove it's all the way back with that first Google module we want the file ID and there it is nice and fancy so now we can put it through the test here is my automation dump folder in my Google Drive I've popped in the video I want but I have not dropped it into my video folder an important thing to remember is you can see here my file is still being uploaded to Google Drive if you drop your files into your folders they still need to upload give Google Drive a second to upload those files your scenario won't run because technically after You' Dro them in and they're still uploading they're not quite in your folder yet so you have to wait until they are okay so here is my video just take a quick peek at it now a couple things to note my file name is what I want the caption of my video to be in this case it's just the title so Tower of sand is what I named it and that is going to be the only caption that gets posted to Instagram I will drop this file into my video folder where it can be recognized by the scenario again double check make sure everything's uploaded can check my Google uploads make sure everything is good to go and we can test this scenario I'm going to come down here and just hit the Run once button okay here we go see it hit Google Drive it's now downloading that file sending it to Discord running through all the sheets and finally we are posting to Instagram after that gets posted to Instagram Google Drive will delete that file okay let's take a look at what happened here it ran through the entire scenario so I'm going to check my Instagram page here and there it is nice and fresh I'm going to open up that folder now okay here is the automation dump folder and the video folder is in fact empty so it was successfully deleted let's take a look at one more thing here I'm going to pull up my Google sheet we can see row number six my sleepy sea monster shorts account we have that title that posted the URL that Instagram grabbed from Discord and the hashtags that were already in there for this post let's double check those hashtags title posted correctly and we have the hashtags posted from my Google sheet now this little thing right here this is a nice little touch to add this space and to get this separation between the caption and the hashtags all I did was put a couple of spaces in this section here for the hashtags so it's actually two line breaks right here to get that nice little space so that's it
