the run-through, and there's no spark on stage. And I don't know if that spark
got lost in the past few years, because it's not
the same person. There's no Erika Jayne. I don't feel confident
about any of it. None of it. Everyone's waiting

to throw it all away and really perform.
There really hasn't. There've been notes
up until the last minute. We just put on the costumes
two hours ago. We just put it all together. Everybody's things
are coming apart. There are challenges
within the show and it feels ####ed up. Yeah, I'm not here.

pretty mess ♪ Today is a very exciting day. Today is the first day of the Bet It All On Blonde
rehearsals, a Las Vegas residency at the
House of Blues, Mandalay Bay. I'm super excited,
because between divorce, competency hearings
and indictments, and losing everything,
and bankruptcy, the last three years
have sucked. [dramatic music] Let's cut back 20 years ago, when Tom Girardi was
a successful, respected lawyer. He had a great reputation. He had a ton of cases and a ton of money
coming in and out of that firm. By all accounts, Tom Girardi
was a great plaintiff's lawyer. He just kind of
got the trick of life. The guy was charismatic. He was a sweet man. I could have never predicted that I would be in this
situation that I'm in with him. But more importantly,
that he is where he is-- disgraced,
disbarred and indicted, and in a home for... Alzheimer's, dementia.
A memory care facility. REPORTER 1: Hugely successful
and praised Los Angeles attorney
Tom Girardi, who has since been disbarred,
now in even more legal trouble. REPORTER 2:
"Fraud on a massive scale." That's how federal
investigators today described the indictments against
attorney Tom Girardi. Some of Girardi's
famous cases include representing Erin Brockovich
and representing Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who was severely
injured during a 2011 incident in the parking lot
at Dodger Stadium. Tonight he's in an Orange
County rehabilitation center, apparently suffering
from Alzheimer's, and is expected to be
taken into federal custody. So it will be up to
a federal criminal court to determine his competency. It's hard, because I remember
the warm Tom, the sweet Tom, the Tom that helped kids get
into schools, pays for tuition. I one time asked him
many years ago, "Why did you choose
the plaintiff's practice?" He said, "I didn't like
people getting ####ed over." But here we are,
20-plus years later, allegedly having
####ed over everybody. REPORTER: It's alleged
that Girardi and the CFO of his former law
firm, Christopher Kamon, stole more than $15 million
from clients. It's a massive fall from grace. I was married to this man
for over two decades. You don't shrug
that off lightly. You just don't. And when it's in the news, and it's consistently
brought to your attention, and it's talked about,
and people say things about it - and remind you...
- Hi, Erika! - How's everything with Tom?
- ...that somehow this is - all your fault too.
- Are you guys talking? He's facing 20 years, I heard.
What's your reaction to that? Yeah, I have something to say.
Just not right now. I was not prepared for
what happened with Tom. And I'm not asking
for people's empathy. None of this should've happened. I feel terrible about
the clients and that they did not receive what
they were entitled to receive. These people have been
wronged, harmed. They want answers
from a law firm that they put their trust in. I am not part of that law firm. I'm not indicted, but because of
the last few years, I'm ####ing tired, man. I'm beat down. I have self-doubt. I have negative loops
running in my head. I have negative news
coming at me. I've lost everything,

in Las Vegas on August 24th. So it's literally
30 days from today. And that's why also
Jamie is extra crucial. Having one person
know everything that you do. It's an insurance policy. - So--

was burglarized several times. Oh, my goodness,

'cause he was a paper boy and had gotten bit on
his paper route repeatedly. You wanna lay down? You know, he broke down

but he's my best friend. I mean, you know,
I don't know of a better friend. You can do it.

as long as possible. But when Tiago goes,
it's kind of like the final thing that goes
from my old life. When I first moved in with Tom, I showed up with two garbage
bags full of clothes and my car. And my life became his life. I admired him. He was a bright man. Tom was a mentor to me. I went to him with
all of my insecurities, questions about life, questions about finance,
questions about politics. You have to have
someone in your life that you go to that you trust, and for me,
that was my husband, Tom. If you say so. - If you say--

But you're so good. It's funny because as a child,
I learned not to trust anyone. My mother and my birth father
were married, and then he left
when I was nine months old. So I did not know him. My mother remarried. I can remember,
I was little-ish, third or fourth grade,
my mom took me for a ride to my stepfather's work, and we were parked down
the street a little bit so we could see in. And he was meeting up with the
girl he was seeing on the side. And she was like, "Get down!"
You know? And I just remember, like,
"What the [bleep] is going on?" And so there wasn't
a whole lot of trust in men. You know? Let me just say that.
Like, I didn't have a steady father figure
growing up. I don't identify
with having a dad. Cut to, I was 29 years old. I married somebody
that was almost 60 years old. Tom made me feel comfortable
in my own skin, and I trusted him. A lot of people
trusted this man. You know what I'm saying?
Like, people thought of this man as a successful,
solid human being. But the little girl was right
the whole time. I was right. I don't know if absolute trust
is a possibility for me in life. - [knocking at door]

cleared of a lot, do you have any regrets about how you handled
yourself on the show the last couple years

when I left. Yeah, oh, no, I thought about killing myself many a times. I would talk to my son. I was like, you know,
I don't want to do this. I don't want to be here. He's like, "That's great,
but here's what you're gonna do. "You're gonna dig
your heels in "and you're gonna fight
like a mother[bleep] "and you're going to show
everyone "that they were wrong
and you were right "and then we can have this
conversation after that. "But until then,

I mean, this is wild. Don't you feel so vindicated that House of Blues
and whoever the promoters are, I mean, it's called
"Bet It All on Blonde", but no one was wanting
to be in business with you, - I have to assume.
- No, you're right, which is why I was shocked. Honestly, when I got the offer,
I was kind of like, - are you kidding me?
- Right. So it was great
and I'm super excited, and I think as time goes on,
people will see you know, that things are, as I said from the beginning,

But the bottom line is you need to learn everything
and we need to adjust. Yeah, I know. I mean,

is we move to center stage, which is,
I've rehearsed there for a long time,
for many years. But we get to see the stage and
everything that was designed. And it's built and I mean,
the bare bones of it. Obviously, no screens
and lighting design or anything like that. But we actually get
to start performing and seeing these numbers,
if they work on stage. The sh## has hit the fan. [bleep] yeah. Everything's up.

I'm having a hard time with it is because it's changed. It was choreographed

that I did know all of a sudden

about "One Hot Pleasure," which I thought would be
the easiest number for Erika and for the girls. We have done many a video,
many a photo shoot where when in doubt,
throw Erika naked in some pumps and some hair
and makeup on a bed and she is gonna work it. But there's something
that is not translating in her brain right now
and she's not giving herself permission to be owning
this moment. Stay a little bit longer
on the bed. Keep going. She's a little sloppy,
you know. - Oh, it's terrible.

Not feeling good about it. Very frustrating for me

I need you to look at it on your spare time
at nighttime just to just review it
in your brain. Otherwise, next Monday,
it's gonna be such a disaster. I'm over the steps,
