Reminds me of when some guys in Africa made a homemade Jeep.
Pretty damn impressive, normally most amateur-built replicas look hella fucky, but here they seem to have at least mostly get the proportions right.
Looks cool, could've fooled me from a distance.
As far as replicas go, this ain't bad at all! The biggest thing letting it down is probably the paint and the fit and finish, which are relatively minor details. Usually when I see something like this, the first thought is "OMG THE PROPORTIONS?!?!" This thing sails right by that check in my brain and I have to start squinting and moving on to things like "that stance doesn't look quite right...."
Anyway kudos to these dudes.
Chassis aside, this is incredibly impressive. The bodywork came out fantastic.
Bonus points for keeping the shitty steering wheel in the final montage shots 😂
Holy shit that was inspirational! I thought it was just a clay model but they actually built it from scratch. Kudos and get these kids some scholarships!
Wish me and the boys had enough space, time, money and parts to do this on the weekends.
When they put on sheet metal with holes drilled in them instead of actual rotors and sym scooter calipers that's when I knew this thing was going to be amazing.
those guys inhaled enough poly resin to knock a good 10 years off their life! Neat project but man, even basic PPE make these kids live a lot longer...
I know some guys in this business and what it does to you working like this is brutal :(
All that welding without eye protection. Their poor corneas...
The body fabrication was great. Finish wasn’t 100% but was very good for a scratch built fiberglass body. The chassis was about what you’d expect. I was surprised they fabbed so much stuff rather than grabbing aftermarket brakes and seats out of a junk yard. These guys have skill and with more budget could really make something amazing. I think the most surprising thing was after all that hard work they didn’t disassemble for paint and that paint job came out horrible.
