My Co anchor Keith Garvin is on assignment tonight. >> Many questions remain after a barge crashed into a bridge connecting Pelican Island to Galveston Island to the county says it's still unclear how much oil has leaked, but the barge hold up to 30,000 gallons KPRC two's. Well on the Logan live tonight. And Galveston is people are leaving Pelican Island. One. >> Now, Daniel, and this is a closure you can see behind me here with closing preventing people from coming into the island itself only allowing folks to exit out. We know all non-essential employees at Texas, a M's Galveston campus are being told to leave the campus itself. We do believe there are many or if any students remaining on campus because there was graduation a few days ago. And as we alluded to earlier, they are asking people to get off the island. But we did see a number of people walking away from their vehicles, parking in nearest and walking towards their homes at on the island. Now, no cars again are loud. >> Across the bridge unless they're lving and no barges are allowed in the channel that TEX Dot propose replacing the 63 year-old bridge a few years ago because it, quote, has met its structural design life. Now just before 10 this morning, the field barge lost control in the outgoing high tide in hit the bridge, according to the supervisor with the Galveston navigation district. Why the county judge tells me that there aren't any injuries, but there were 2 crew members on board. >> Barely 2 crew members were either thrown off or jumped off and they were recovered fairly quickly. So while they were thrown in the water, they wer cover that has that and no injuries to report. But yes, there were 2 crew members at least impacted at the time of the impact. >> And again, they were left this portion of the roadway open for those who are on the case on the island itself to evacuate.
