i think one of the things that people really that i personally enjoy whenever whenever someone buys a book in a post on twitter that they bought the book you know and you'll do you have a like a different thing sometimes you you say like he's just signed on the line which is that all right right right so it's like we've just formed a contract right like we're on a ride together so let's go and do it but you know other times you'll write something really nice a kind of um a nautical tale yes this young man is set to sail yes you know and all the the maidens are waiting at him from the docks yes so that's public yeah that's personal attention so you know you you i don't know you're describing yourself as you are now or as the person that caused you to become the person that you were that's an important distinction yes i think there's evolution still yes i think i'm much more generous and decent now now i i i believe i was generous then but i was generous without the consciousness that i have now yeah there's a certain consciousness like manifest you feel it but now you have to mend your learning to manifest it and to kind of you know throw the seeds and look above it yeah like before i was kind of in the moment like i'm generous you want to go out to dinner i'll pay you and i didn't think i just did boom boom boom you know you need something i'll take care of it boom boom boom i'm busy but now i'm more thoughtful about it yeah i'm caretaking now so i get a reader this is an evolution this is an evolution yeah i get a reader yeah he's bought my book what has he really done for me nothing he's put three dollars in my pockets nothing right that's not the point i don't think about the three dollars i think this is a man or a woman sometimes who has risked something for me said i will buy into your thing for a moment and in that moment i love them yeah i'm grateful for them yeah yeah thank you yeah what it is is in my mind stopping the train that i that i see people i'll never know any of you i'll never know any of you you're all just anonymous faces flying past me but to like grab one of them randomly off of the training now now you're my twitter feed and you just follow my book yeah so like let's go you know we're both alive we share more like we're live and then you go your own way but it's just a kind of a very a moment that's very valuable i think it's the currency i now consider uh you know it's the gold standard for me now is is that not the three dollars they give me when they buy my book it's the attention it's the commitment yeah it's the generosity of them saying i'm going to buy into your world for a moment i'm going to listen to you and go on a ride i care about what you think i set sail yeah yeah and we're in this together yeah and that is my currency now yeah it's what i value more than anything you know when i was making a lot of money i wanted that cash in my hand and put that 30 grand in my hand now i want that that's my dopamine fix that's my that's it and now what i want i'm going to see a picture of my book on twitter with you saying hey i just bought your book that's what i want that's my currency man that's my 10 large in my hand and and it's hard maybe to describe that's your three large but that is that and when i see that i get the same feeling metabolically the dopamine yeah but also philosophically yeah like that's my currency man that's how i live now yeah is i live on on validation it's validation validation yes because i was alone in the wilderness for years abandoned by my tribe usurped betrayed overthrown like in a literal scene literally literally like no joke like really [ __ ] over by my tribe and now i have a new tribe and they're loyal to me yeah you know and i haven't tested the limits of that loyalty but but first where we're at now they have shown supreme loyalty to me and and that's my currency that's what i spend yeah that's yeah and so i'm i'm and so the generosity is real when i write micro fiction from people yeah because it's two stages actually and you enumerated them when they say hey i bought your book i say okay mark james bobby has signed on the line which is dotted because they bought it yeah then when it arrives and they say hey i got the book i say okay now and i write yeah 280 characters of a little story yeah of them on the ship with us yeah right their little story yeah because those are the two phases like okay you bought it and now you have it yeah and and because those and then what happens is is weeks and months later they contact me via dm yeah and they say hey i read this line yeah i read this paragraph i know this character yeah my god yeah and and then they really open up to me yeah and then what is said next is private yeah between me and them it's in dms it's very private yeah but it's the third level yeah because now it's really intimate yeah and they share the most intimate things and i do the same yeah and so the book to me has given me what i was missing when when i was when i was trying to survive as a quote alpha with money and [ __ ] and cars and all that [ __ ] now i have as a sigma which i have a tribe that actually is loyal to me loves me respects me sees my value and i can be genuinely generous to them yeah patient with them decent to them giving to them i cannot just get what i need but i can give what i need it's it's your your wealth is not of this world you know you know in everybody needs cars and houses and infrastructure and toys and [ __ ] this is not to downplay that no at all right however there's a time in your life when when you've had it and lost it or you you don't have it you want it or it's somewhere for whatever reason distant from you at that time and uh and then you appreciate it but then you but then you move on to something else where you're like i need validation on a new level in a way that is something that cannot be taken away from you you know god is so smart that's it they can't they cannot take that from me yeah the fact that these people love my book they can't take that from me when you're stripped of everything whatever remains is who you really are that's who you are [Music] any ground waste
