FRONTIER FESTIVAL 2021 at CEDAR POINT: Food, Drinks, Kid-Friendly Activities, Shopping and More

[Music] do [Music] we're here at cedar point it's two o'clock on the sunday and what opens at two o'clock the frontier festival so we are here to cover it for you is it worth coming to cedar point for our festival we don't know yet i find out i can't wait to read the description for you i gotta find the map it's awesome all right so i'm reading what it says on the website enjoy this all new festival full of old west flavor our annual sunflower inspired gathering celebrates hope health and this year's harvest burning with hops and hoot nanny who nanny i mean hops just means there's beer right i don't know i'm hopping frontier festival kicks off the season and fills the street with browsing live bands nightly hoedowns pie eating contests a couple of activities games crafters and more for adults this hoot nanny would not be complete with a full lineup of libations a full lineup of libations sample your way around town set up more than 65 craft brews sparkling celestia signature cocktails to put in this year's special concoction bring your appetite to because the fixins this year come with a cherry on top a cherry on top because everything is cherry thing cherry theme it's feast on more than 20 cherry inspired provisions ranging from mild to wild saucy and savory with some mighty fine sweet treats cobblers and more whoever wrote this description deserves like i want a hootenanny good time with some libations and some cherries on top yeah this is this is good that's good so let's see what it's like where it's right over there so we're gonna we're gonna go to that after we finish up the 18th soupy ride walking in it says welcome to frontier festival here at cedar point how do you feel about cherries i like them i wouldn't say like i'm like obsessed with them but i like how do we do you think they're going to be like cherries like bing cherries or like maraschino cherry like what are your thoughts predictions i don't feel like it'd be like martino cherries i feel like you know i don't know i don't know all the different types of chairs is it all gonna have like cherry pie filling on it we'll see who else i guess we'll find out it's so funny [Music] there's different games you can play over here they aren't open at the moment but it looks like they may be later [Music] there we go [Music] got ourselves an umbrella with a barrel table they gave us this handy dandy guide i'm gonna go through it a little bit with you in addition to the food and the crafts and the drinks they're going to have activities entertainment right now we're lined up for the balloon stampede which says let your little cow poke loose on a balloon coffin stampede so we're here we're waiting for that i think anna is gonna absolutely love it in elementary school we used to have these fun fairs and they you go into a classroom and you'd pick a number and when the music stops if you you landed on a specific space you would win a dessert i am wondering if this pie walk is gonna be like that so hopefully we're gonna catch that um this festival runs every day now um may 14th through june 13th so we're gonna have a few opportunities to hopefully take part in all of these things um they have a lineup of fun special guest appearances so far this has been a really fun festival okay so we're at the frontier festival we got our lanyards so um we got eight teaspoon tickets because they ran out of the twelve ones we already paid for twelve so they gave us additional ones anyway long story short you get these little tickets and then um you can rip them off and use them to buy food and drink items all around the little bootcamp so kyle is going to go get a beverage and we'll see what you can [Music] so yep they built this little area with the hay and they're gonna have the balloon i think the stampede here so looks like it'll be fun yeah um i got a truly strawberry lemonade they had those you know those seagram's ones yeah it looks like kool-aid i'm like i can't i can't just like like if i walk around this bright blue like neon drink like nah let's get something a little bit more it looks like i'm hydrating but i'm not thoughts on it oh it's good i've had it before oh they did have some specialty like for this festival or is this like no i think that's a standard flavor it's the truly like the sparkling oh like a thing okay kind of like a white claw yeah basically like alcohol or no alcohol okay um they had some other weird craft ones they had some watermelon thing from a brewery never heard of oh so they got some weird stuff and weird unique stuff different stuff at each of these i don't know if they're all the same i assume they're all different yeah because they kept talking about how they got like 40 50 different craft things bruce so hopefully give it a try we got many times we get to come to this so yeah hopefully we get to try it as much as possible this size is three tickets okay if you want to get anybody with a sample size they're much smaller i was like no no i need a real drink so i want three okay so if you're like i don't really want much i'm not good i was thirsty so i wanted something or like if you're not sure you're gonna like it don't waste three tickets i was gonna get that watermelon one just just warm it might be a little weird right okay a little bit windy today so instead of the balloon stomp they're going to do a pie walk which i think is cedar point yeah some place be like oh it's too windy right no we're getting a pie walk somewhere i don't know if there's a prize of a pie but um okay so we're doing a pie walk because it's so windy they couldn't do the balloons so they're setting out the pies making a circle he's gonna be cherry i already know the flavor you know what's helpful guess what it's pumpkin it's the competition guess the flavor of pie i think we got it they're like you know what we're gonna hand out some uh pumpkin and some pecan pies pecan [Music] i think we should do we should do a count marissa's gonna hate this how many times do we guess now how many times are we going to use the word nanny in this video if you predict right you get rice is editing so sure so i'm gonna have her count how many times the pie walk is like a cake vlog but it's pie instead of cake pie it's just better in my opinion it is better i don't really like cake that much yeah [Music] there's two kids that are like right next to each other who is who was on [Music] there that's so cool okay let's go over here what did you get here try this here show us oh she got a hat okay is that what you wanted okay maybe you hear it cool good job i'm so we're so proud of you you did your first pie walk and you did great come in here it talks about the artisan square it says on your own favorite pastimes so like a little friendly game with friends and family grab some fiddles and belly washers and challenge your company andres to a game of checkers horseshoes cornhole hook and ring giant jenga are all of them there's actually going to be a tournament at 4 45 there's shady hollow garden games and then there's special features and this is seven o'clock i want to go to the hubbub ho down it says slap on your dancing shoes and party the night away with a nightly line calling that sounds so fun i'm so sad that i didn't wear my cowgirl boots i'm gonna do that next time for sure horse racing stick style at 6 30 i think anna would absolutely love that snoopy has a pie eating contest at five a pie walk at 4 30 or 7 30 chutney juice this is a map of all of the locations they have belly washers which are drinks and tasty vittles which is food cherries being featured in all of it we're going to try to sample everything if we can we're mapping out what we're going to do okay so number one is the smokehouse and they have smoked brisket slider and smoked turkey drumstick i'm thinking we should try that slider only one ticket and then two is called cluck cluck cherry bread pudding and a cherry pork taco and a cumin sandwich i feel like her older sister younger brother oh streusel pizza is right here number three i don't think i want to have the cherry cauliflower pizza but maybe the sweet cherry chicken pizza i don't know about cherry and chicken that's why you need to review it all right so we went to the station number two which was called cluck cluck not sure why it's called club pluck since there's no chicken it's all pork but anyway we got cherry bread pudding here with a little dollop of whipped cream we got uh let's see a cherry pork taco which has flour tortilla jalapeno cherry coleslaw and queso fresco on a flour tortilla right i got that yep and then we have a nashville cuban sandwich so it's kind of hard to see looks like it's usually a cuban has like pork in it and mustard and pickle definitely has mustard it does look like pickles maybe it actually looks like chicken so maybe it is chicken okay well cool yeah does it taste like a normal cuban sandwich yeah nothing like there's supposed to be something cherry themed with this tastes like good sandwich i would eat the sandwich here at the channel we actually review our food on a one to seven breeding basis and we use what are called scrummies if you're not familiar with what that is the word scrummy is used commonly in the british baking show and it might be just a british thing in general i don't know but it's taking the word scrumptious and yummy and putting it together and it's scrummy so we're gonna rate things based on one to seven one being the worst seven being an absolute recommendation and we are going to do that for all of the foods today we got the national cuban sandwich also on the scrummy scale five i was gonna give it a five also of one to seven it gets a five scrummies okay this is theme park food like if you're coming here expecting sixth and seventh across the board you're at the wrong place like i mean if we get one we'll get we get one we will tell you but that is gonna be like finding gold um these are probably gonna be fives of course are you gonna are you gonna mine for that goal i'm gonna mine for that goal if you're on here like yeah they give a lot of like fours and fives everything it's the heart food like i am trying the cherry bread pudding from the put pluck station and don't mind the bingo going on in the background i apologize to your random numbers and letters um but anyway so i this has the bread pudding um a marshino cherry like pie filling and then whipped cream so let's see how it made it okay first bite i feel like the pie filling is definitely really sweet which i mean it's just very high feeling like from a can and it kind of balances like i feel like the cake is like not very sweet almost a little bitter in it so it's kind of a nice balance because it's not like overly rich it's got like the sweetness and a little bit of like the bitterness cake with the cream it's kind of a nice balanced combo there again like i feel like half of this definitely came out of a can whether it was whipping cream or pie filling so i wouldn't like call this like the most amazing dessert i've ever had by any means but um i mean i'd get it again i'm a sweet person though like i love desserts so i'd eat this whole thing no problem but on this grummy scale i would maybe say it's uh i don't know three or four it's great it's average nothing like phenomenal but it's good i'm gonna review the cherry pork taco also from the club club station and it has jalapenos a cherry slaw and pork so it's all on a flour tortilla let's see how it goes i 21. it's a little spicy and the jalapeno is good okay i really like this taco i love the cherries in it it's got um what the cheese is missing it said queso fresco yeah it's really good g52 this is getting a six from me like that's really hard to do well i would wait in line for this um yeah the balance is good it's a sweet spicy taco i kind of wish i wasn't putting this with them because i would totally make the entire thing get this um on the scrummy scale six and um this is really unique i really like that yeah so what are you doing what are you playing look how many bingos we almost got ten you have to get five in a row good okay well we'll see if we get it that's twenty okay fourteen okay we just need that one now oh we only need one more in two different spots three there there oh three spots so close over here in front of town they set up some bailiffs it's completely free and they get prizes they do have an age requirement i believe it's either 10 or 12 and under so it's for the kids and they're having a good time it's quite cute come on up we're gonna do one more bingo okay let's see can we get it n 31. oh man it seems like all of the kids activities are being done here in front of town hall and um they're all completely free they give out stickers and tattoos to all the kids who don't win the activity so everyone's a winner and we know anna was super super happy with the um stickers what did you get [Music] no way so cool okay let's put it on your other arm for bingo she got a hotel breakers frisbee it's pretty cool time for kyle to eat the um cherry pork taco no it's queso okay we thought it'd be [Music] weird that's quite weird but i like it isn't it good why is that cherry so spicy it might be the jalapeno how's the cherry today really yeah do something cherry for the record kyle and i have different like preferred spice levels it's fine it's not that bad but i just wasn't expecting you when i bite into a cherry and just be like oh that's a hallway that's good i give it at least a six yeah this might be a seven almost it's a six or seven six yeah if you're coming here for the festival and you don't know what to get to eat this might be a good place to start compared to the um cuban sandwich which do you like better i tried the bread pudding i agree with marissa's review completely and i would say that i think the bread pudding part tastes like french toast it was very moist yeah it was a it's like a moist french toast it's hooting any good time there are only two tickets for the tacos oh yeah not bad i didn't get three of these we're gonna try everything so that you don't have this is good the taco is good the uh what was the other the first thing the cuban it's okay say hi [Music] they have multiple booths um some are crafts some have goods like honey different things all look very cool unique items seems a little like a little bit like a craft fair those are really pretty [Music] anna did you like bingo or the pie walk all tuckered out because we've just been going and going up since like 5 30 this morning it's time to rest back there at that booth they had candles that were cedar point cents which is actually really cool um maybe we could come back i think we're gonna look real fast oh cool there's steel ventures flavors they got cheese i kind of want that i don't like candles i don't smell much for that one roller coaster okay wait cheese sticks peach smelling ones that's scrummy feel veggies kind of smells like um cheesy popcorn yeah it's like a cheesy popcorn like cheddar popcorn looks like it's more for me elephant ears this one smells a little perfumey ooh but there's like a cinnamon sugar smell to that definitely cinnamon sugary that's cool so fun how about cotton how much are they um this side is size is 12.99 it's not bad and then they have the waxes too it looks like good these are good the root beer one smells super good i kind of want and i don't like candles generally but it does smell it should be just like root beer maybe yeah and she's buying it sold i was talking about honestly oh you like that one you want me to smell it oh yummy that one okay this is the cherry cobbler delicious she wants to eat all of these i actually ended up purchasing the wild root beer which was um 16.99 and it smells so yummy it gives a seven on the scrubby scale all right we're just walking through the frontier festival we got the mine ride we got all these cute little booths with all of the fun things going on there's places to stop for beverages oh there's junkyard jamboree perfect for taking some cool pictures [Music] insert camera noise find one of the festival ticket booths to get your tickets for each of the food booths and the t-shirts are also sold here you can check out all the cute little decorations with the sunflowers all over a stockyard bbq over here this is um flavored lemonades and you can add um alcohol if you would like it looks like they have tito's vodka [Music] here is the buckaroo chicken on a stick with sweet cherry herb sauce so i got the buckaroo chicken on a stick um it was really good it's got like kind of like an asian like zing kind of like tangy sweet but spicy sauce um i would definitely recommend it came with three little skewers here and it's kind of nice like just a snack especially if you need protein i kind of waited a little bit between meals so i was quite hungry so this is kind of perfect to just like get me back up to sleep so i will wait until the train is done so on our scrummy scale i would say this is i guess sorry i feel like i'm really bad at this because i like like it's five enough maybe a six but like i can never just commit to a number but i feel like it's really good a little bit above average especially for theme park food sorry there's like my happy eating stuff there um so yeah i feel like for theme park food definitely really good um it's just grilled chicken with the sauce and i would recommend it i would get it again um i wouldn't say it's like the best thing in the world i've ever had but it's good all right so we're gonna do an overall review of the frontier fest um so first of all i thought that most of the food that we had was really good um some of the things were like you know not like they were bad but it was just like yeah okay um the entertainment seemed like it was really good there's some live music going um which sounded really fun we didn't really get to stop and listen to it a whole lot today because we were too busy going from place to place but we really did enjoy the vendors um we got our little root beer candle so cute and um it was yeah it was really cool to see all the arts and crafts and things like that they had some really neat stuff they had a really cool area for kids like around town hall they had activities they were all free and character meet and greets cute like swag yes we got a frisbee we got she got some m m's she got some stickers just like fun all sorts of stuff they had a pie walk they had bingo later we missed it but they had snoopy pie eating contest for kids 12 and under um anna doesn't eat pie anyway because she's a weirdo but um she won't even try it to be honest but um but yeah so we really enjoyed all of those things involved with the frontier festival so we're excited to come back um and see some more of it um in the coming weeks yeah consider the day of the week you're coming we did come on a weekend and it was a sunday yeah right next time it might be during the week and repair the lines because by later in the evening it got it got a little bit less yeah even around dinner time it wasn't nearly as bad it was like when it first hit and opened at two it was like chaos like people like eating samples of stuff and snacking all day so the main dinner rush doesn't really hit out there right because the people have already eaten at two or three o'clock now here we're kind of the main midway right now they check out the festival and then head this way so yeah you just need to you know plan your day accordingly so that you can you know avoid those crazy long lines if you've been to the festival let us know what your favorite items were if you haven't do you like cherries she doesn't like shoes there's people out there that don't like
