From The Roots to The Room

my name is david moutine i'm a software developer based in nairobi kenya i currently teach private python and linux classes i also write technical articles on cloud machine learning web development among many other topics i was born in naruto press in a country called kenya in a remote village called chala i remember growing up i've always been a person who likes creating things so i'm someone who has just been into engineering stuff ever since i was very young i even remember at one point we used to connect propellers to bicycle dynamos and we used to generate some electricity and they used to light up the neighborhoods and actually remember at one point i had a very big propeller at the roof of our house and neighbors will just stay and wonder what really this was i needed a program at least a one year program which would help me upskill very fast and be industry ready i made connections that are very valuable even up to that you are given a real world projects that you are going to you get to interact with the job what you're supposed to do in the job class or the job market but you're now just doing it for learning but it's something that is real out there so you are using projects to learn and that really means that you are going to be ready for any job that pertains uh what you're studying the way the program is uh structured it's like they have compressed everything that is involved the computer science their coding is so intense and it really leaves you better equipped after completing this program you're exposed to a pool opportunities from where you comply you can apply for jobs and even apart from that if you apply for a job you yourself because of the hard training that you've gone through and the way the program is structured everything becomes just pretty much easy for you i applied to amazon through the room it was announced in the room and i got a chance to apply i went through the interview process successfully the room is a company that is connecting global talents to employers once you graduate from the airlex software engineering program you join you get a chance to join the room and from the room is where you are exposed to a pool of opportunities for someone who wants to go through the same journey as i did i would advise them to be very committed and again very disciplined i'm sure that will definitely lead them to wear what i've achieved so far i would like to leave behind a legacy of having helped several people i have a dream of building a technology hub in my home county so it's something that i'm sure i'll actualize it with time and other peers who have a passion for technology they will use it as a channel for them to achieve their dreams for someone who wants to follow exactly the same path as i did i would advise them to really choose the path of discipline and commitment because i believe those two values will really take you where you want and there are values that will make you succeed [Music]
