I keep buying these colored papers and I never use them and today I want to change that hi everyone it's Dragona from CEO welcome and welcome back to my channel as you can see I have my big gel printing plate out I got this one for Christmas from my husband and I've only started using it yesterday I've been using my handmade jelly plate and that one is still fine it works perfectly and this one is a bit bigger so I thought I'll just use this one it's 12x 12 it's a large one okay and as you've seen in the introduction I want to use these papers these generic plain color looking papers that honestly I don't know why I keep buying them if I'm not going to use them but today I want to change that I want to do something fun with these papers and I've tried it yesterday and it worked and I love the result and in addition to obviously acrylic paints gel plate and some palette papers you will need some Fabrics I'm not going to use stencils today and I wanted to show you that you can do beautiful prints with just some Fabrics we've done something similar last year was it 2 years ago when we've done Lacy cards we used lace on our gel plates to create cards these ones I don't know if you remember if you haven't seen that video you're welcome to check it out we used lace we used craft paper and we used just white paint but this time we will use colors and we will use colored papers we won't use just craft papers and I want to show you how to make these plain looking papers a bit more interesting instead of stencils or stamps you can use these vinyl table cloths they work really great this is a place mat that works well with gel plate just a bit of netting another tablecloth this is a piece of plastic that is textured it's got these diagonal lines and then I've got another one of these plastic or vinyl tablecloth so we're going to use some of these it doesn't mean we're going to use all of them I just wanted you to see examples of what you can use and then have a look at these These are the Fabrics that I put aside to use specifically with gel plate that's just a lace piece of lace curtain lace then I have this one I think I took it aside because it has those big roses I haven't used it yet but I might then I have this fabric too it's a holstery fabric with raised parts and you're looking for Fabrics like that that have some sort of texture that might look good when you print with gel plate that's just I don't know what that is like an interfacing but it's got texture so it can be used I love this one too this was I think a curtain as well but it's got this lovely design and on one side these parts are a little bit raised so it works well with the gel plate then we have this one it also has a bit of a texture that goes vertically like that and another lace curtain that's what it was it was white now it's all covered in paint then I found this one also very good it's got this interesting texture it works really well on gel plate this one as well another curtain I have just a piece of corduroy fabric can be like jeans whatever you have that you can spare that you don't need then I have some laces as well this is from a an old blouse of some sort and I want to try that one today then I've got a piece of this lace brown one is that one I think it might work if you can spare some doilies you can use doilies as well I'll see maybe I will uh I will sacrifice one I don't know and there there's this piece of fabric from something so I might use that too and then this is probably from um some sort of clothing then there's that as well it's got interesting design and I've got a few of these a few laces okay and that one so we'll see how we go these are just to give you an example of the things you can use and now I want to show you this my box of handmade stamp SS okay these are like hexagons with glued fabric I didn't put the handle on them yet there's a piece of doily then I have some lace here that's stretched onto a card stock that's a sample of like a carpet of some sort so that's also interesting texture I might use that more doilies a little doilies and Lace flowers it's a part of a place mat fabric lace more lace more lace and curtain and these are the handmade stamps we made with craft foam okay got the butterflies flowers leaves and so on but today I want to concentrate mainly on fabric I want to have some papers that are inspired by fabric that I can use in the sewing theme journals that I'm currently working on take that off and peel that off apart from the papers that I want to use I have some packaging paper here that I might use for clean up and I've got some of this belly paper as well it's good for cleaning up and my papers are A4 size and this is slightly bigger I've got a piece of acetate here recycled piece of acetate and usually I like to mix colors separately especially if you work with handmade gel plate it's better if you mix the colors separate and then apply to the plate because handmade gel plates are much more absorbent and they take a bit more paint than this one the storebook clet of instructions or whatever and I'm going to use that to clean the Brer okay there's that tool as well that I recently got it helps with transferring the print from Gel plate onto the paper and I've got some space payers can't wait to start let's just do the blue one first so when you work with papers like this you have to put some thought into what sort of colors would look good because when you work with gel plate you not necessarily going to cover the whole thing there will be areas where the color of the paper will come through unless you go several times several layers of paint then of course the blue will disappear but I want to have a bit of this blue I just don't want to have all blue like this to me this is like a room without a window I like to have a bit of a texture and different colors on my papers so that's why I'm doing this so with the blue ones you have to figure out whether you want to take it lighter or darker from here so I would use darker blue and lighter blue and and whites let's just start first with adding the darker blue I've got this one says dark blue I'm using just cheap acrylic paints use whatever you have easily available where you live so as I said I'm going to add the paint here simply because I have more control than if I apply the paint directly spread it here and then apply it is a nice color okay I think I'm going to add just a little bit more we'll start with a simple design I think and what I love about this is that I can finish the print in one goal okay what should we use here let's just use this one okay I've already used it before but I want to use it again so I'm just going to apply this fabric it's going to probably Dr dry the paint a little bit as you can see still all right it's not too dry you have to test it if it's too dry you better off leaving it to dry out completely before applying another coat of paint and then lifting it off that's one thing with the fabric when you work with fabric as a stamp or stencil it does make the paint a little bit dry and I had a few instances where I didn't place the paper immediately so the paint dried before I could lift it off now I can use this all right let's see if it's ready it is oh that's good it picked up the paint nicely I love it isn't that so much more interesting than just that now you can leave it like this or you can do the second layer and when you do the second one you choose whether you want some darker colors now or you want some lighter colors and I think I want to go even darker than this I'll add this blue and maybe I'll add a little bit of black just like that just put that there so it doesn't move okay let's apply this I'm going to use the same fabric but instead of placing it like that I'm going to place it like this [Music] okay I can do this as you can see now I have the lines going that way hopefully this is not too dry hopefully I should be able to pick it up so we're just going with a simple one first in two different shades are just going with lines in two different directions let's see I love it oh that looks really nice it does look like a fabric doesn't it I absolutely love it and you can still see some of the original blue coming through I think it's so much better than the paper I had before just compare it okay so you use the color that you have but by adding other colors you completely change the look of it it's still blue but it's it's so much more than just that let's do the red one that should be interesting and I will just clean up this glue and I'm just using these wet wipes okay I just clean you can leave you don't have to clean but today I don't want surprises it's different when I'm printing by myself I don't mind if I mess it all up but today I want to show you how to do this properly so I'm just going to pick up this excess moisture with this clean up paper okay before I start with applying the color I just want to tell you this we've done this in the previous video we've done these dress forms there's a free template on my website if you haven't grabbed it the link is on the screen and in the description box below and I want to use them today as masks on the gel plate okay I've got mine already cut so I won't be cutting these how am I going to do this so I'm going to be using these but I also want to have a bit of a texture I think I want some of the laces which one should we use okay I think I want to use this lace so with this one I want to go lighter so I can use light pink or I can go with white I will add a bit of pink so it's not just white let's do this still have a bit of a blue left but that's all right might give us interesting result just place this [Music] might use this a little bit gently I'm not pressing too hard I'm going I use this again [Music] some of my most favorite prints will actually clean up papers Because by the time you finish your gel printing session your cleaner papers would have all the colors and patterns and everything sometimes they look really interesting that's good enough very nice I love it okay now I want a darker red and I'm just going to add it here to this white and that should be all right it's nice color I'm just going to do like this I love this color it's got a bit of a blue making it purple and now I want to use some of these templates okay I will'll just place them just like that placing them need one more SC good I'll excuse my dogs okay I think I have enough okay that's dry enough and I'm going to just place this over and the idea here is that this paint that we just applied is going to transfer the paper everywhere but where the templates are it's like a mask ideally these templates should be cut from thinner paper rather than card stock might have been easier to pick up but that's all right hopefully it will work did work there it is I love it so I will probably go with posa pens later on on top of this but I actually really like it cool and I still have this so I'm going to do bit more cleaner going to do the second print from this I love that darker color around so we're going to do something with that oh look at that we even have some some of the text transferred onto the dress I didn't actually plan for that that it happened I find it interesting look at that there was a label that's all right it's going to give us interesting pattern all right put that away we have to wait until it dries a little bit before we apply a different color we can go either light or we can go dark or we can go even just totally different color than what we have here okay I think I'm going to use this paper but on top I want to use a real really dark red and I've got this one it says Bordeaux let's have a look it's almost black and I've got this says Cherry this these are different colors these are not like acrylic Zilla just a little bit runnier it says antique paint but they work really well just show you they work really well on gel plate because they thin but they only have four colors like I couldn't find any other colors apart from brown green and these two okay is this dry yeah just add a little bit more of that oh my dogs I asked them nicely to be quiet while I'm filming and if the neighbor's dog comes close to the fence and all three of them are on high alert and they're friends with the dog but know dogs and their relationships I never understand that sometimes they're just barking and being aggressive and yet other times they play with this little dog they love it cool I love it I love how the the text transferred you know sometimes with these um magazine transfers when you want them to work they never work but then when you don't expect um to appear yet here they are I have a bit of text there and there I think it's so grungy and good I love this and I like the outline as if they're glowing it's just so cool I think I love this one turn out really good yeah you can still see a bit of that pink there showing there's also a little bit of white that was left cuz I didn't clean the plate I just love how this one turned out I think it's best if I clean this before I continue so I'm just going to use this wet wipe again maybe now we can use one of those vinyl or plastic tablecloths okay we haven't tried this green and we haven't tried the yellow yellow is a little bit tricky is like I think I know what I want to do with the yellow one I'm going to use this one and that one together so I'm going to use this one first I will start with white start with white now I just want to place this it's got the rough side and I want to place that down I haven't used this so I don't know what to expect I haven't tried it it's good that it's see through so that I can actually see already I can see what is going on all right so yeah should be all right to lift it up almost looks like like a world map of some sort okay and now I'm going to use a yellow paper [Music] okay so it made it lighter and there is a little bit of design some of those lines so that is good now I'm going to use this dark brown and because that white is there I'm not going to add paint there I'm going to add paint straight here and this one is runny so it should be all right see how runny that paint is it's it's actually really good for jelly printing it's almost translucent look at that it says dark brown but looks really light now I didn't wash it after I used it with blue so I don't know what's going to happen maybe some of that blue will end up in the mix I don't mind we'll add an extra Dimension if it happens o I like that let's put it I wanted to align and then I dropped it [Music] have have a p of oh oh I love this one it turned out so good we can still see I think this one this is the right way although it's not really straight but that's all right it's a little bit on an angle we can still see that yellow shining through but we have the white and the brown and it looks so realistic doesn't it I absolutely love this one we haven't tried the green and the black I have this fabric I'll just go with the white first I have it there and I'll add a little bit of that light light green maybe even a little bit of yellow so lighter color okay we'll go with the lighter color first and you know what I'm not going to do anything to it I'll just do like this [Music] so I just made it a little bit lighter but still some of that original Green showing okay I think for the dark green I have this one it's quite dark and I don't need to mix it there I can go directly here and maybe I will pick up some of this that's left there and then mix them like that that is very dark [Music] oh love it let's see what's going to happen I find that paint dries faster on the on this D plate than it does on the handmade one I love the size of this one it's really good wow I love this one it's green and these look like leaves really beautiful pattern oh I'm very happy when I compare that to this that's just so much better we haven't tried the black one yet and we haven't tried any with gold paint and I love working with gold and I got myself a clean piece of acetate just going to get rid of this dried paint because I don't like when it gets onto the plate okay going to apply I could do the whole page this last one I have this lace I think I'm going to put the lace down here first then I'm going to put that I think it's supposed to go this way okay this one here then that one there and then this one here did I make that complicated now that one is that one this one that one there's some fluff here from this fabric but that's all right I'm not going to touch it I think I need to wait until this dries a little bit simply because if I was to try to pick this design up now I know it's not going to be complete because the paint is already dried I can see that it's dry in some areas more than it others so it wouldn't be a nice print so I think I'll have to go over with a different color maybe I'll use this dark brown it's dry okay we said dark brown and I'm going to apply this one directly because it's really runny interesting so that we can see how it looks on black and how it looks on green I actually love it already I love it on on green now I'll just concentrate on getting a really good print here I think I'm going to scream I think from happiness oh my gosh I love this one this one turned out the best I think I just really love it I love the Swirls and these and yeah really pretty that would be the page in the journal that I'm very happy with this one okay let me clean this up and then we'll go through all the prints that we've done together and I will show you some of the ones that I've done yesterday okay here are the papers I should probably leave them under something heavy to flatten them a little bit overnight but for now I just want to show you that was the first one we've done and I really like it that was on the blue paper and I really love the crisscross pattern it just looks really nice almost like denim that was the second one we've done with those templates dress temp templates and I think this would look really nice if I just go with some PCA pens on top just the outline maybe dashed line or dotted line either with pink with white or perhaps even with a bit of blue because we do have a bit of blue showing as well I'll just show you what I mean here are the ones that I've done before and I've played with posa pens so I've added dashed line in light blue here and here in this one I added white dash line and I think they look really nice I might do that later not now but either white or blue I haven't decided yet I'll see how I go but I think it would look interesting uh this one also turned out very nice it has almost like a glow around and some of the text from the packaging transferred onto the print perhaps here I can do something with the outline as well it might look interesting then we have this one I really like how this one turned out on the yellow paper yellow is hardly visible it just gives nice brightness and freshness you can't really see it it looks more brown and white than yellow it just turned out really good I think and very clean and clear print I like this one too this will definitely be something that I would love to put in my nature Journal really nice um and lots of contrast as well it's amazing what Fabrics can do and I really like this one or is it this way yeah the gold on black paper it just looks so nice I've scanned them all in but you can't get the gold when you printed out it's just going to look yellow or brownish color it's not going to be shiny like this I really love that fabric I wish I have left a bigger piece so that I can do the full page but it's too late now I've used it in another project anyway now I want to show you some of the ones that I've done before here's the one I've done on pink paper and this was even brighter pink than this one I love how clear that print is I think that's supposed to be this way and this must be my favorite of all I just love how it turned out with that lace curtain and that was on yellow paper and I have this one which is red paper with a bit of gold and some brown or green or something then I have this one just a combination of several ones and that was done on black paper this one turned out really good I think this was also on black paper almost looks like wood this one was done on black with gold again this tablecloth gives the best prints and then I have some more here I think this is on green yes then a different tablecloth again one of the plastic ones on blue paper with just white paint it's really cute and really fresh I love this one too this was on purple or pink paper with just a little bit of dark red and some white really beautiful here we have a red is it red with just some white and pink and I really love how this curtain shows up in prints really beautiful I also like this one this was done on on yellow as you can see I've tried with white and I didn't like it so I turned it the other way around and it's that okay another one with the cross pattern that's just black over yellow paper and then I've done a few just on white paper it's really nice blue and gold this one's also nice that same lace curtain I really like this one too on white paper with some purple and gray and white bit of pink as well I think and a few more that I've done on this jelly paper and I've used my handmade jelly plate this one is also done with the curtain some of these are like cleaner papers that later on I just printed something on top and I love those two so pretty here I've used stencils so yeah I had to do a few with stencils but because it's a stencil of a doily or a crochet piece it still looks all right and then I tried with this stencil I just had to try because it's a new stencil first I've done just the lace on red paper like gold and red and it wasn't really standing out although it was nice when you look at it in certain light but apart from that it was barely visible so I decided to use the stencil and here as well this was like a neon yellow color and I decided to use that sunflower stencil day and I was hoping to have some of that yellow showing through and it worked really well so this was done with one stencil happy with both of them okay now I want to show you something else it's been four or five months since I've done a digital kit and I just had to I was so inspired by these papers that I wanted to do one it's called Lacy jelly print collection it's got 18 pages and it's available as A4 and letter size and I've used three of my favorite jelly prints that I've done with these laces and then I created the digital kit and I hope you like it here it is that's the background there's the writing Pages this one's half half and here we have a little envelope and a card for writing and then here you have some more cards with some lace designs some vintage lace designs I left the version with without these and my idea was to get some of the laces that I have and perhaps glue a piece like a sample Fabric and write down if I know things about that lace where I got it or what was the price or something like that it's like creating a collection of your laces something like that and then this one turned out really good so I had to use it the pink one and here as well we have a page for writing and then one that is half and half another little envelope with the card then here we have like index cards it's this way and we have lace samples there and I also included one that it's just plain so that you can add your own laces so if you have or you can stamp some images that you might have you know use for whatever purpose and then I had to use this one with the blue really love it I actually made it a bit smaller because the squares are quite big so in the digital kit they are smaller and then here we have a writing page with a bit of lace down the bottom and then here we have one that's half and half I love this one and I love how that turned out also used the fabric the thick fabric that I had to create that print this one the blue one has um envelope with a card as well and it has some of those spool tags you have some that have the lace white lace there you can cut them out and use the tags if you don't want them to be like this if you don't want them to be these spol tags you can just cut out this straight and adjust that's fine and I've included one with without the laay so that you can cut it out and perhaps use real lace if you have some okay so that is the digital kit it's available in my Etsy shop I will leave the link Down Below in the description box I really hope you enjoy this video thank you so much for watching and I hope I see you soon in my next video bye for now
