hey guys I'm back with some oysters I just shucked some of these earlier and I'm gonna do a real quick video and show you how I prepare them I normally eat them raw sometimes I'll make a stew but I'm gonna go ahead and fry some up my wife said she wants some fried oysters because she was watching while I was opening oysters and she really wanted some so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and fry up eight of those oysters and what I'm going to use for seasoning is a melange I'm fresh cracked this is needs to be ground that's the peppercorns I use a dash of garlic I use a dash of onion I use an egg and I use in this case I'm gonna use a half a cup of cornmeal and one tablespoon of flour in my mix the the pepper is about I'd say a half to three-quarters of a teaspoon of fresh cracked pepper this is a teaspoon of garlic powder a teaspoon of onion powder and what I do is I just take my cornmeal and I drop it in here I take my flour I drop it in here I take my garlic drop it in onion powder drop that in and the pepper we're gonna drop that in okay I'm gonna go ahead and mount the camera and we'll continue okay we're all mounted up so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and just I'm gonna mix this up real well oftentimes what I do is I'll just throw it in a quart baggie or a gallon baggie and I'll do it kind of similar to a shaken bake but we want to get it all mixed up real well go ahead and crack the egg the bowl set aside break the egg up taking a moisture drop it in your egg drop it in the flour drop it in the egg drop in the flour we're gonna do this with all of them and once we get these in here we're gonna put the flour I'm in the mixture autumn mix them around now or stirs they elected to hydrate after they've been sucked out of the shell opened if you will and I'm gonna take a little ladies to the side and what's going to happen is is they're gonna absorb and that batter is gonna stick to them I'm gonna get all these done and be right back okay I've already battered all of them at least once okay I've let them sit for a little while so that the the batter that we put on there adheres to the Wurster a little better I'm gonna go ahead and pick up another one and put it in pull it out let it drain drop it in the batter I'm gonna I'm gonna just do two coats two coats of this it's gonna give us a heavy coat come right back when I get them all done okay all of them have two coats now and what I've done is I've put the oil in a cast-iron skillet and I'm bringing it up to temperature now and we'll move to the stove in just a minute okay I've got oil all around and I'm gonna cook them on each side for approximately 1 1 minute 15 seconds I want to keep them moist inside tastes really really good we don't want to overcook them we don't want to become dry just be on the outside is still moist and tender on the inside putting over here oK we've got this shy of three minutes I'm gonna go ahead and second off now we don't want to [Music] it sure looks good okay there all done and ready to eat let's cut one open and look at it the steam coming off that so good it's still moist on the inside sorry it's still moist on the inside has a real nice crust on the outside it's really nice they're gonna taste so good thanks for watching guys hope you enjoyed it
