[Music] oh [Music] hi guys and welcome back to my channel today i will show you guys how i make the most delicious soft and moist fried bakes or float bakes to get started here i have some all-purpose flour i have some milk i have sugar yeast baking powder some ground cinnamon and some butter let's jump right into it so to get started you want to add your butter to the flour and work that in by hand now i am using salted butter today so i will not be adding any salt to the recipe if you're using unsalted butter add a half teaspoon of salt next we'll add our ground cinnamon baking powder yeast and sugar we'll mix until well combined then we will add the milk to form in nice soft dough now usually cinnamon isn't a part of this recipe but it's my recipe i like to make things my own by adding my own touch my own flair to the recipe so i like to add cinnamon because it adds a nice flavor to the fried bakes and i like to add milk because it adds a nice richness to the beaks so you know but you can also add water here instead of milk so once a dough comes together we will turn it onto a floured surface and we will knead for about 5 minutes you want to create a nice smooth ball and after about five minutes this is how your dough should be looking now we will place this into a greased mixing bowl and we'll cover this and allow it to rise for about let's say 30 to 40 minutes you don't need it to rise too long because we're not making bread so we'll let this sit for about 40 minutes so once 40 minutes is up we'll now go ahead and you know separate our dough into seven equal parts you can get about eight bakes with this dough if you make them a little smaller but i like a chunky bake so you know i'll separate mine into seven equal parts now we'll take our pieces and create some little dough balls we want to get them nice and uniformed as possible because that plays a huge part in your presentation once you get them nice and smooth then you'll get a nice looking bake and you know you know i'm big on presentation so that's what i like to do so once you've got all your dough balls prepped what we'll do next is roll them out into our desired sizes whatever size you like your bakes in you roll it to that size but i must caution you that if you roll them too thin what will happen is when you fry the bakes and they inflate it will become very hollow in the middle no flesh or meat in there but if you roll it to like a medium size thick you will have a nice bake that's compact in the middle and super fluffy we'll now cover them while we get our oil heated so here in my preheated oil i will now place my beaks and you want them to cook on slow and low heat you don't want to rush this process because what will happen is your bakes will look nice and golden brown on the outside and on the inside they will be raw and you do not want that so let them cook on low heat and let them take time to cook all the way through so what you see me doing here coating the beaks with the oil is this method helps the bakes to inflate faster so you know because what happens is the bakes are being cooked on the bottom but they're not getting the hot oil over top so you know it will take a longer time to inflate but if you help by you know swooping the oil over top of the bake it will inflate faster and that's what we'll do and when our bakes become golden brown we will flip them and allow them to become golden brown on the other side once the bakes are fully cooked we will go ahead and remove the bakes and we'll carry on with the same process until we are all done but just take a look at how the beaks are perfect in color and they are absolutely delicious so today i'll be enjoying my fried bakes with some fried saltfish we all know that bakes go well with fried salt fish and i could not go without showing you guys the inside of the bake it is perfectly cooked it is nice and fluffy and has a lot of flavor i do hope you guys give the recipe a try and if you enjoy my video please give it a thumbs up share it leave a comment down below and don't forget to hit the subscribe button i will be leaving all my ingredients and measurements down in the description box and i'll see you guys in my next video enjoy
