well we're back on this truck some of you that see my other video is recognized the trailer and the truck they got do t the other day and failed some stuff one is the mud flaps you got to have mud flaps on a vo t vehicle and the other is I just replaced that airbag mater back there and a do T guy so this one's leaking now I've sprayed this entire airbag down with the soapy water I didn't find nothing there's no leaks the owner wants me to go ahead replace it anyway I went ahead and bought another the other bag what I did find this is Calvin here a quick relay valve on the bottom of it there is an exhaust port that exhaust port is just constantly leaking out so I got to take that valve off I don't know if I'll be able to film there or not hopefully I will um I might try to set my camera up to where it'll turn my phone rather Tory I'll actually let me have two hands and the other problem it's one of these two oil filters I don't know if you can see it that's one way down there there's two of them on there and this one back here was leaking oil really bad so when I got here I stuck my hand on it damn and it was just finger tight I'm surprised it's still on the truck lucky cuz if it would have fell all the way off we were too lost all the oil so first thing I'm gonna do is pull this valve off because I'm running out of sunlight I'll probably take this valve home to the shop I'm just gonna take it apart and try to reseal it or get the shmoo out of the inside there show you what happens to those guys instead of replacing the entire valve well hopefully not have to replace the entire caliber throwing here we go all right so the first thing we have to do is gonna cut all these zip ties out for all these lines going to this valid and we got to pull this valve might be able to get away with just dropping them out down and taking this top section off hopefully we can just do that that's a pain in the butt to take all this stuff I'm gonna go ahead and cut these anyway get that one down that's just part of the Avs stuff this one off this one just do this one a little more room so yeah it's not now I think there's some bolts hold this valve on back I don't know how's this thing come on let's see that bolts are dads [Music] now I'm gonna go ahead and take this line off and this one but before I take it off I'm gonna mark so what I used a market I've got a bunch of these zip ties that I got from a electronic supply store that are a whole bunch of different colors I like using these zip ties because they don't make enough paint markers to mark everything but even if you do paint and you can see all the dirt on this setup so it's kind of hard get it clean everything you get your paint marker to stick and then when you're messing with it sometimes your of your paint off or let's say you don't come back you know you got to order a part or something like that you got to come back and just things but sitting outside for a while when I pulled motors out and then had to come back two months later to put the motors back in or whatever and then uh your paint is worn off in the rain or covered up in third or whatever so I started using these zip ties I think it's a lot better oh you can't see this on camera but I've got you know about a foot of space to get my hand underneath here anyway you pushed that little release color in and as you're pulling on that and that comes off we cut this one too I don't want this one feeling left out getting jealous okay put you there get that one out of the way and I'm gonna take big fella here [Music] sometime these thing could be a real pain in the butt don't know if I'll be able to do this get just about ranch sometimes you can do it like this you know they're loose enough sometimes you can have you find a better angle wearing out my shoulder all right all right so I got my adjustable here so these are being kind of a butt there's a bolt there and his nut on the back there's one over there so they can tap on there and there to look like they're half inch cool so we got that filler off now just a little bit so I'm gonna take these four screws off take this top cover off and you know if I get it to turn enough you can see right here there's a round piece that's the exhaust on this thing and it's just leaking air out of it I really don't want to have to take this whole thing apart just for that there's a lot of hoses and lines and get it done a lot quicker if I could just service it from here so we'll try that and see what we get yeah I guess I'm gonna go back to taking this thing apart I take it off the truck at least [Music] be easier to do it on the back of my service truck over there or just take it to the shop tonight and do it in line at the house a lot more beer at the house and areas out here a little funner to take stuff apart so I think that's what I'll do I'll take these two off take these electrical lines off and take this one and this one off okay straighten up very flat right back to the store you go [Music] take this electrical connector off here give a little turn that one's doing so we got our hunter abs wiring there she's out of the way you need to take this one off you need to take our lines loose I'll go ahead mark this little green guy with a different color here in little bit this video I'll talk about what this valve actually does it's ABS valve I guess I'll just talk about it now that's a part of the ABS for the rear axle I wanted the rear axles so what will happen is when you apply your service brake brake pedal that'll send a air back here to your service brake side of your brake chambers or your on this one the rear axle has service brakes you don't have a park brake the front drive axle has a Park Break chambers on it so anyway when you hit your break you send air back to this valve but it splits it from here and it goes here each individual will so once it goes to the wheels um if your abs has they have a sensor on each wheel and it could detect if each will is stopped or not if it stops it'll send a another signal to these guys and that will end up actuator that'll end up drop in your ear that way it kind of releases the brake pressure on each individual will like a non-slip same kind of thing doing your car now all these ABS systems work pretty much the same just this one actually operates with air instead of a abs control module the same exact no function put a piece of ice on this d-o-t will not let you cut any ABS harness on these trucks any kind of class 8 truck you can't patch it legally so if you ever have a will that the harness like the center itself you can replace but that the harness side in things it get messed up somewhere and you know you think it easy splice back together well you got a can you do that got to replace the whole harness on the truck I've had to do that job a couple of times [Music] different places I've worked I do it up Mac my Mack truck dealer one time Mac a whole year waste their work there for a year came up for my year and review I started there as a porter so I guess a little backstory I first started McKean Noro I got out a UTI nobody would hire experience the experience take a gem of it brukner Mac Mac dealer literally pushing a broom come up being a porter so I was a porter for I guess about two or three months and pretty much begged him every day to let me do all changes they finally started living shoes oil changes because they were short-handed had a lot of work to do so I did that then one day had a guy asked me if I could come in and help him do a clutch job on a Saturday without getting paid which sounded like a blast to me and what's funny is it really did sound like a blast I'm just interested in how to do the job that's all I really cared about he has good learning experience I came in helped him out then after that they got me to do a couple of clutch jobs so I got really good at doing clutches I could do it real fast on trucks you usually have the transmission count about an hour and a half way back when so I spent a year doing heavy line work like clutches a lot of PM's stuff like that and I was making eight bucks an hour or some on one year for you comes up I'm thinking man I'm gonna make some good money I'm gonna go up from $8 an hour probably twelve thirteen because I'm a visa mechanic now so I go in and do my review supervisor goes well got you good race get you twenty three cents twenty three cents yep twenty three cents an hour like you talked about eight dollars and twenty three that's it well and it kind of laughs at me because well if you think you can you can do better once you just go somewhere else I'm like man I'm doing heavy line diesel work at eight bucks an hour I mean don't you think you should pay me a little more how much do you think you should get paid I don't know you know 12 13 bucks an hour and he laughed yeah if you think you can make a man just go somewhere else so a couple weeks later I quit I went somewhere else late 18 bucks an hour all right valves out all right so got the valve out yeah that was my first mechanic job I ever had God told me I have 23 cents an hour 23 cent raise a year is good raise just take it ten years you'll be making a whole $12 an hour well everything happens for a reason I've got my own company now my worst boss is myself oh well this leaking costly just has the air coming out of it so we're going to do the clean these up my life okay got that one broke loose and leave it there that one's loose that one's news you bastard now it's tight knees back down see if that helps us oh it's hard okay I don't have my sex lube so for this TV blaster and maybe it'll work oh you wanna hear another story so I bought another service truck this week the 2005 f-550 with a crane 6,000 pound auto crane on it it was in Tennessee so I went ahead and I don't want to drive to Tennessee to check out of trucks I want to end got the loan for the truck accepting the money with the attention to coming out there and checking it out so it's gonna fly on a buddy of mine goes hey man I'll just drive you out there you know don't worry about it that way you got a chase vehicle to come back awesome man that's great it's good that friends like that and he's a decent mechanic toon pretty much sharpest me sorry sharpest technician I know so he's a good guy to bring with you so get out there truck won't start batteries are dead so my truck won't start batteries are dead they go get the jumper pack they bring it back you a lot of smooth in there so uh anyway the chuckling start they jump it off and I can't get the crane to work because the crane runs on a battery so the crane don't operate they go to get some tools go swab the battery out I'm sitting there inside the truck with my buddy in a pasture seat I've got my scanner up and I'm looking at the high pressure oil pump pressure base pot pressure and it's a little low so all I do I made the trucks not even warm yet I mean it's just been running for maybe five six minutes that's it and it's you know thirty to thirty degrees that day so I just blip the throttle you know and I'll sit I've watched the RPM get up to fifteen sixteen hundred rpm blip it old pressure comes up a little bit and reach over cut it off get out look underneath the truck there's a puddle of oil underneath the truck freakin mud thing through a freaking ride while I was sitting in it had a rod sticking out the side of the block right so needless to say I was a little upset I don't know what they were trying to pull one over on me or not whichever one I don't appreciate it but so I went to the owner and I told him is like hey man he goes fix it if you want the truck I'll fix it no problem you know don't worry about it so he calls me the next day and says yeah I need to needs a motor needs a block crank and a rod and I'm not gonna put money into it so I'll just send your money back so I have a service truck for all of an hour or two not even that but drove 600 miles for the freaking truck and oh well all right so there's our problem it's all eat up in there chunks of rubber you see all this black crap all over well it probably needs another filter on that thing I don't know they make a rebuild kit for this or not probably not I would imagine they did so all can really do is put this cover back on try to figure out the part number on this valve but in a call around see if I can get one and I or tomorrow but today Saturday night so it's gonna be kind of hard to find don't know if I can maybe but on the wide-angle factures I'm gonna do a better job on this stuff labcoat 3205 oh yeah they did a good job on this one they're mine yeah it actually engraved it in there that's really nice Auggie's manufacture is there they're cheapen out and they're just putting the printed on tag on these things so if you uh try to find a number on there at all you've got to like walk the dirt although you just robbed all your part number on but this is actually stamped in there so I'll be able to find this so 3205 well I'm gonna go ahead and well this is on here yeah looks good screws back in even if I'm not gonna reuse the part I still like to put all the stuff back together because once you usually once you try to transport every single little piece you end up losing something but this is relatively simple I'm pretty sure it wouldn't been a problem but you know you never know put your screws back in your hole will stick it back together usually doesn't take the five minutes pay for anybody that is continuing to watch in who has subscribed thanks a whole lot for all the subscriptions up okay thank you guys enough I really enjoy making these videos and constantly having more more subscribers you know kind of lets me know that people are actually interested in what I'm doing and what I'm talking about and I know most of you guys jumped over from my SV seeker you know for my time up there and Doug talking about on his channel which I just really really appreciate oh I had to go get another part last night went to the dealer got it was a hundred and eighty something dollars I guess I don't know every time you go to the freights shaker dealer they they rip you off but they are where's the a you want to fix the weekend you have to pay their prices although he's a cheap cobalt crap c4 just rip it out for me so of course I get to the dealer buy the parts I get here today and realize that I forgot to get some brackets while I was there so I don't had to go back well now here's our new valve a little bit it's gonna have the plug this one yeah lot of times you get these don't have a hack like that don't come with what you need sometimes a dues and that's an element sex lube use an effort later no rings and the bolts I love want to give extra bolts okay so I'm gonna do this off camera cuz you only need to see me take your things off but I'm gonna just one here this one down there just one there and see if I have a creates NPT plug which I probably don't so I'll probably have to end up going and get one but oh well so I got the fitting cleaned up took a wire brush to it and then this is the stuff I use my airlines and stuff it's a from Swagelok called swak this stuff is a it's pretty good stuff but it's expensive this too was about a hundred dollars it'll last you forever you know a couple you should last you for several years but all you do by the way I do it is you push this this end comes into a point so you push it on the threads like that squeeze you a little bit out and make sure you kind of work it into the threads they don't need a whole lot this stuff is a used an oil fill black for a natural gas stuff because it's actually rated at a 10,000 psi I think or 12,000 psi and it's pretty much the only Teflon pipe dope that I've ever found versus you there's a tape or whether it's a liquid or whatever that's rated at that higher pressure everything else hadn't rated that high a lot of things in the compressed natural gas world for vehicle fuel lean is up around you know 7000 psi 8,000 stuff like that so you need to make sure your fittings your whatever you use is braided that high so anyway I'll go stick this in get it tightened down and we'll put these modulator back on then I coat my o-rings with the I don't know where I've got a a tube of moly coat 111 somewhere I think 111 111 or 55 it's yeah and I says over in grease on it so use this Loctite kripp talks it works pretty good I have no idea how much it costs [Music] [Music] [Music] so they call this this is your abs valve it's a lab co something these are your abs modulators eyeball to each side to distal modulate each with each airline that goes to your service brakes on each axle so you know this to go to your rear isn't us go to your front or however it's configured but it's a sick bone there's just a little solenoid right here it's electronic it opens or closes and it will modulate how much pressure gets to each brake chamber what it doesn't use it'll exhaust pretty simple setup I don't really have to do a whole lot of truck abs work and I know how to do it when I get my laptop I'm gonna get that WABCO ABS program installed pay for it it's probably another thousand dollars down the drain but I will there's our valve tada so all this is is you've got your outlet hoses for your brakes and oh please go to your brake chambers for your service side of your brakes you've got your main supply that comes in that's from your foot pedal on your whenever you hit your your brake pedal on these there's a valve underneath in essence air back to this guy it comes out to these two and that applies pressure to the service brakes and at the computer detects that each will is a locked up it'll send a signal into the here which will open this cylinder which diverts you know whatever air pressure on that service side of the brake releases a little bit that lets a tire rotate and then it'll activate it again and let it lock up so that's why when you go down the road you see these really long 18 wheeler tire marks and you'll see like a little little square then a gap little square then a gap and it comes out looking like this kind of - like that so what happens this little black mark right here is where the tire actually skid of just a little bit abs activated this that released some of the brake pressure the tire rolled grace this little gap so anytime you're on you see a tire mark that's really really dark then goes to light like that I'm sorry really really lying goes to dark and you got these gaps because the ABS is actuated it kinda looks like zebra stripes of course I don't have one so I'll set this over here and we'll load the tools up and we will go to the track respond come back yeah we're back drop 10 miles for one freaking prius plug get robbed from Home Depot just plugs $4 or something like that could our plumbing supply plays I get this same plug for 40 cent or something I will move my camera and we'll put this beast back on so I'm gonna go ahead and bolt the valve on there then we can throw all the lines on [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so that's pretty much it now is back up I just got a zip tie all this stuff back together we'll fire it up and do a pressure test
