[Music] good morning goldie my name is guy and i live in free city i have everything i need [Music] except one thing hey so the badass opener was shy of 3000 frames there was a lot of lead time of trying to concept this sort of shot out and it was supposed to be from beginning to end one continuous shot and then from from that we went on set in the the streets of boston and shot from helicopter shot drones the shot with the 45 foot crane we shot every way possible we shot uh on a camera array with a car with a camera array of 10 cameras going down the streets of boston and then and then once that was executed we received all the plates that we had to stitch back together and it took us several months to actually execute version one of the comp to show what it looks like from a to z and um once we were excited about this and finally showed it to the filmmakers we quickly understood that you know what it's not as exciting as we actually thought it would be you know uh and and then so so we have to really dig and dive into what could we do to actually really get this shot really excited for these 3 000 frames so so we threw everything at at this shot we threw we threw the kitchen sink and it really set the the tone for the movie which which is kind of on the borderline of that style of grand theft auto it was easy on set to say well it's just a video game and and because of that there's a certain expectation of how real or how fake it should look like and and so we we all went in with the idea of we're going to make this look as photo real as possible but because anything goes uh there's a certain gray line of of where physics lie in some manners it was one of those shots that took more time than anticipated on turn around time so to iterate took a long time from beginning to end and it and then it becomes even more challenging when let's say the editor changes or re-times it a little bit because it's a domino effect right you you do a little re-time in the beginning kind of how does that propagate through the rest of the shot and and and and it's not a 2d solution in most cases it was a 3d solution that we had to build into our 3d camera and and and propagate and it was it was very challenging for the team when those things happened it's the first time i've ever driven a car i before wish you'd mentioned that yeah
