Free Food ~ Dumpster Diving for Groceries!! How to Eliminate That Grocery Bill!!

good morning everybody we are off dumpster diving I know it seems like with the amount of food we find we would never ever run out of food but sometimes yes we do get low on food and we're low on certain items that we could really use right now like milk and eggs and bread and bananas I have been banking frugal daddy to go dumpster diving day after day after day after day and why haven't you wanted to go dear because it's just been too cold when the weather is in single digits yeah it has been so cold we have totally wimped out but it's been really cold but today wintry but not so abysmal oh yeah we are definitely out of the single digits today no wonder it feels like spring off we go with crossed fingers and high hopes that's what we we could use some fresh fruit besides the bananas I wouldn't want some apples some oranges right I think we said bread okay so off we go this is the thrift store dumpster where we get a lot of clothing this is not a donation bin we are not taking donations prior to them even making it into the thrift store this is the thrift stores trash where they throw away the clothes that they have not sold or the toys or the furniture or whatever it is they don't want inside the store anymore I think sometimes when we've said we take things from the thrift store dumpster people are under the impression that we are taking things from their donation bins that is not true we would not do that we actually donate to a variety of charities this is in fact a dumpster it says waste management on it is there any good trash there today arriving at the older dumpster anything [Applause] this look like good grapes yeah sweet globe with grapes oh it's better when they're in the wrapper they look really good who's strong enough to throw a wooden pallet in here box of pop-tarts down there but that is not healthy trying to get healthier with this stuff [Applause] cauliflower I thought they were oh I thought those roulette Asst Oh cauliflower that's awesome and oatmeal yes I'd love to make some cauliflower soup look at that beauty corn [Applause] Oh carrots would be good we have carrots in a while there's a really nice yellow pepper way down there all right a yellow pepper or any of these bananas or are they planting okay it's getting the Bucks with the fabulous yellow pepper [Applause] check out that beauty damn nice pepper [Applause] what a bag of onions bag of onions is always good those longings look fine yeah that's a banana yeah it's definitely a banana that would be good first movie very cold very green this might never get right Thank You bounteous universe and now approaching the save-a-lot dumpster and it looks great Oh a lot of trash and it looks like people are throwing away their own trash cuz there's a Trader Joe's bag and that is a no-no is that a box of food already packed for you oh look at that ah you're so trashy looking trash here a box was nice but what's the deal with all these Kingsford Charcoal mmm there's milk down there let me reach in for a milk you said we needed milk okay we got a whole milk best used by February 10th and today is about February 3rd my my older daughter actually wanted whole milk she wants to take a milk bath she said it's good for your skin that's a lot of strawberries here's some strawberries [Applause] they look slightly shriveled but not moldy I bet I could make some nice strawberry jam with those not bad at all Oh more milk okay [Applause] here we have a bag of rice unopened and it still has some snowy frost on it it'll begin out at the Buried strawberries ah daddy's throwing food at me now oh yeah two more packages of the brown and serve rules would love those Oh sand for the sandbox yeah uh yeah I mean they're not open so why not it's nice to have fresh sand every year a weird assortment of stuff today somebody's throwing out their place in save a lot doesn't sell place and I don't think Home Depot is throwing out their trash bags and bags that's very weird and without further ado let's see what we got we got the two gallons of whole milk and one gallon of skim milk two packages of brown and serve rolls which I'm very excited about because I made some amazing lentil soup and those would go very nicely with the soup big bag of rice one of our favorite little lemon cakes and iceberg lettuce two containers of cherry tomatoes three quarts of strawberries these actually look really good I think I'll pie cut these up and freeze them for smoothies two packages of lasagna noodles got 22 mangoes mangoes are definitely one of my very favorites they are super cold they're kind of soft so they're definitely ripe I think I'm gonna cut these up and cube them and freeze these also for smoothies we've got seven bags of this Caesar grilled chicken salad kit the lettuce looks fine it has a best if used by date of two one was a couple of days ago I think that's fine we got the baby carrots and these really nice grapes those look pretty good we got just a few bananas which I'd really like for smoothies I don't know if they are too under ripe for that we have a nice bag of four onions the beautiful huge yellow pepper another iceberg lettuce for cauliflowers nice cauliflower there's nothing wrong with that either in corn on the cob - 18 packs of eggs and the items that were in the CVS dumpster bag we have some lotion with a defective top but that's okay brand new lady's deodorant doesn't have the normal cap on it it does still have that safety seal on it so I think that's okay a package of the goodness knows peanut butter crunch snack squares organic gummy bears we have a lip gloss in a ripped box some makeup setting spray some sort of fancy rice krispies treat type looking thing and a big bag of epsom salts in this box we have another cauliflower several packets of oatmeal a couple of beautiful red peppers have a lot of apples I'm very excited about the apples we can dehydrate them to make apple chips I can make applesauce I make scalloped apple so I put apples in my oatmeal and these apples look really nice nice and firm nothing's mucky or rotten or nasty looking about them slant well there you have it that's today's dumpster haul we found some good stuff I'm pretty excited we eat another day as always thanks for watching everybody we'll see you again soon bye bye
