seven percent discount code which is in the description below with all that being said let's jump into the macbook okay so as you might notice we are in ableton don't worry about it if you use fl logic these will work in your door as well if it's a major door the ones later on will only work in fruity loops in fl as far as i'm aware so um if you do use fl there'll be some bonus ones for you guys a little bit later on in the video so stick around for that so first of all it is rc20 everybody loves rc20 it is famous it is world renowned it looks good it comes with all of these presets as well which people use my personal favorite is one or two but if you used to ask me if it was essential i'd say no especially if you're on a budget is not essential as there is some nice alternatives this is what rc20 sounds like on a random loop [Music] and don't get me wrong that sounds awesome that is exactly the sound i'll be going for but only if i had spare money to buy it if i didn't have if i was on a budget i would not buy it that's for sure instead i might be using something like tape cassette 2. here it is it comes with its own presets as well same as rc20 it has the wow and flutter the same things i like to mess around with in rc 20 as well and it conjures some noise as well which is here this is what it sounds like with that same loop [Music] another great alternative to that is vinyl by isotope this is the updated version the og version was very good as well this is what it looks like very very basic uh you can pick the year here to depending on how old you want it to sound you have to dust scratch on one sliders over here this is what it sounds like [Music] another great alternative is this child tape model here [Music] [Music] i think one thing always have in common is the wow and the flutter i think that's the most important when it comes to these um plugins also the noise as well it depends on what kind of noise it comes with because some noise can just be horrible sounding and always can sound really decent something that i would consider is turning the noise level all the way to zero and then downloading like a free sample pack maybe from cymatics which comes with like free noise and ambience type of sound okay so contact now contact is probably the creme de la creme of libraries in my opinion you can get the native instrument libraries or you can get loads of third-party libraries as well and to me these are the best in the industry for any sounds that you want for your production in any genre and that's just my opinion but that's what i believe well for great products comes a great price and contact and complete 13 and most libraries from native instruments can run you into the thousands but don't get me wrong if you can afford that and it won't break the bank and you'll be able to pay your rent at the end of the month still then by all means go and pay for that because it is the best so this isn't much of an alternative but it's kind of like another place where you can play contact libraries where you wouldn't be able to normally so it's still a contact library in essence you don't need to purchase contact to run it you can use this here which is called the decent sampler which is absolutely free and you can run contact libraries in there which you would normally need contact to run all you need to do is go to pianobook.co.uk run for their categories they have all sorts on here they have pianos pads drums climbers guitars choirs wind instruments literally anything you can imagine as a library they pretty much have it for free as well so all you have to do is just simply pick one of these libraries and in downloads here you'll see it says contact and decent sampler then you should click decent sampler download the decent sampler there's no like email signups or anything it is a direct download to your computer i'll load the ghost piano which i loaded recently so here we have it ghost piano in decent sample app for free where normally you wouldn't be able to if you couldn't afford contact so next up keyscape keyscape is on a unique awesome sounding piano very very very high quality sounding piano so if you can't afford that whilst you're on the subject of decent sampler decent sampler has so many awesome pianos free pianos as well on their website we can flick through as i'm flicking through now look there's hundreds don't get me wrong not all of them you'll be able to run on decent sampler but the majority will be able to be run on decent sampler another piano vst that i love to run is addictive keys it's not as expensive as keyscape but it is still paid for unless if you guys have a focus right like interface or audio interface or anything along those lines to do with focus right um all you have to do is sign in to your account online and then you can pick one of these addictive keys to have for free so you can have the mark one roads or you can have the studio grand just pick one of these instruments and you can have that for free the addictive keys demo is very very good as well um it is an unlimited demo for the piano the only things that limits you is the spaces between where the mics are and things like that little intricacies like that another good free vst plugin which is good for piano is the soft piano which is by spitfire audio and their library called labs soft piano is just one instrument but it does come with a library filler of the instrument as you can see here and they update it all of the time the interface here is very simple this is the volume right here this is kind of like the saturated right here and this is the reverb [Music] very very nice i do love that reverb dollar there it makes it sound ten times better another free piano vst that i love well i just love the one preset in it really i love creepy piano for dark type track drill kind of beats well for pianos if you do want to use it as a regular piano for a regular piano melody this preset here called coffin right is a very very nice piano preset in my last video i says to you if you comment i want those serum presets in the comments below i'll give you a shout out in my next video this is that next video and here are the people that commented i also said in that video if you did comment you'll be in with a chance of winning those serum presets so here is the winner of that if you do want to shout out in my next video all you have to do right now is like this video right now and comment i love me some free vsts in the comments below and i'll give you a shout out in my next video now let's hop back into it another great piano vst is keyzone classic um i don't have it downloaded on this macbook at the moment which i've just realized now but it is worth getting as well it's a very nice free vst if you are looking for more free piano vsts i've done a whole video on it which is right here if you do want to watch it after this video ends i'll put in the description below as well just to remind you guys so next up is serum and geez serum was my favorite vst for a good year slash a year and a half straight um 7 was probably one of the reasons i started making tutorial type of videos on this channel before then i just used to post um beats all the time two minute videos of my instrumentals and then i got into serum and then i got into tutorials and here i am right now but then came along something called vital and vita reminded me of serum a lot vital is a free vst it reminds me of serum a lot um i can't really put my finger on it as to why it does but it just does the ability to sound design is very very straightforward on here it has all of the same dials as serum you just need to work out where they are in vital so i would say this is the direct alternative to serum but i know some people do disagree some people would say that vsts like this one here called zebralette is also a good alternative to serum vsts like i said brilliant they have small dials and you have to kind of like scan the whole interface just to find what you're looking for they do come with some nice presets as well don't get me wrong another vst that people say is a direct alternative to serum is surge surge is very weird looking very small i'm not sure if i know how to make it bigger but this is the biggest it's always been since i've had it um and this is what i'm talking about when it comes to like little buttons and dials and sliders you have to kind of like lean towards it i don't know if i'm it's because i'm getting old but i really have to like focus on what is going on there it is quite intimidating at first glance if you do want to do any kind of sound design but it does come with a hell of a lot of um free presets so that's a good plus and last a alternative to serum would be the helm here which is also by the same person that made vital which is uh kind of like see the similarities in the in the design the visual design so this was kind of like the rough version before vital came out comes with a bag of different presets as well as you can see here going back to vital quickly if you do want to see a video on me showcasing a ton of free vital presets or if you are after free vital presets i'll leave a video right here as well as in the description below so sidechaining effect plugins my favorite one and it is an og one is with nikki romero one here by cable guys [Music] so obviously all it does is just duck in certain places the idea behind side chaining is where it ducks when the kick hits and sometimes you can use it when the snare hits as well just to make sure the kick or snare or both kick through the mix even harder so it ducks certain elements out so your kick and snare can hit through harder so this plugin is not very expensive at all and if you do have some spare change just buy it it is good it does what it's supposed to do does what it says on the tin but if you are looking for free alternatives sidechainer which pretty much does the exact same as kickstart looks a little bit different it has some cool presets here and also simple side as well gets an honorable shout out down the stairs yeah this is the one i'm popping okay and then i tripped i split in my legs i feel like i broke it yeah ah the downfalls of working from home which is strangely enough also the perks of working from home seeing your family and your children but anywho so next up the sausage fat now oh gee sausage fat now the alternative to that would be the combat by wa production that is a nice alternative to sausage pattner it's a free download obviously um also one of my favorites is ott that is a very good alternative to sausage fattener as well if you do use file there is another alternative as well to this which i'll show you in a few minutes when we get on to that also camel crusher is a very very good alternative to sausage fat now unfortunately i can't run it on my new macbook but this was a very very good alternative ri p2 camera crusher on my macbook so next up is auto tune and don't get me wrong they do a subscription service now where you can pay monthly which makes it better and as you can see here there is a 14-day free trial if you want to do use that and it used to be quite expensive but now it's kind of manageable if you do pay for that monthly but some nice alternatives to the traditional auto tune is this one called voloco it's got a few presets here you can choose what key you want to be auto tuned into and which scale as well which is kind of like just the basics of auto tune key slash scale and presets with some pitch correction here how much correction is needed another great alternative which does have a better interface in my opinion than below co it has a lot more intricacy where you can change certain voicings and there's a bit crusher on here as well as well as pitch shift but essentially just does the same things you can pick keys down in here which you want to use um you can manually pitch shift yourself here add a bit a bit crusher get a bit crazy with it before we do jump into ffl i just want to do i just want to show you guys some random effects which can be alternatives to companies like waves or sound toys even valhalla has very nice paid for plugins but they do have some good free ones as well such as bahala supermassive as you can see here comes with a bunch of presets i use it all the time i do have some paid for kind of reverb delay plugins but i do still use this most of the time so another free one by the is the valhalla space modulator as well very very good plugging with a bunch of presets as well last but not least the one i use in most my videos if you do watch any of my videos is why that makes things wider simple as that drag it left to right and it goes always 200 percent so now let's hop into fl studio and this is what i wanted to show you guys which is absolutely crazy somebody has emulated the rc 20 retro caller and cordy fl20 instead it looks basically the same i'm not sure how that works legally but this is obviously a great alternative to rc20 as it's basically rc 20 remade but free um it doesn't come with any presets from what i can see but you can toggle all these things left and right as you normally would with rc 20. i thought that was pretty awesome and then i stumbled across this guy's youtube channel frank paul big old frank poll and what he does is basically takes popular plugins and recreates them and makes them free he takes like a free preset like this one here the endless smile recreates it different interface different everything recreates it and puts it out as a free plugin for you guys which is absolutely legendary status from my opinion he's done it with suv 2 he's done it with the sausage fat now he's also got an rc20 version as well as some other ones as well which is absolutely crazy i hope he continues to do that so obviously this is receive 2 which most big producers use most of my favorite youtube producers use them as well when i'm watching their tutorials but here it is in fl and this is the alternative version what my guy has made sausage ah sausage that's gotta be for the sausage fatma right so this is the sausage fat now alternative i'm sure you can't use them on ableton or anything that's why i've opened fl studio to show you guys but pick up frank paul for recreating all of these free alternatives for the music producer community one absolute legend here's so that is it for today's video if you did enjoy those free alternatives let me know in the comments below if you know any more free alternatives please type that in the comments below as well and i'll do like a part two if there's enough down there in the comments let me know your thoughts if you are still watching that means you have watched the whole video and i really appreciate that be safe be productive and hopefully i'll see you guys in the next one you
