Free 3-Yard Quilt Patterns

i know that i'm always telling you about our three yard quilt books but did you know that we also have individual patterns and if you would like to have a free individual pattern keep watching hi it's donna robertson with fabric cafe today we're going to talk about our individual patterns now fabric cafe has nine great books in print but we also have individual patterns the individual patterns come like this you get one free pattern with every kit that you purchase or you could get a book free when you skip the little patterns and you can get a free book when you buy whoops when you buy three kids but if if you'll just keep watching i'm going to tell you how you can go get a free pattern without buying a kit so watch so the first kit we're going to show you today is candy stripe now this particular one is great if you have a pretty border print that you'd like to use this is a one yard three one yard cuts to make this quilt and this particular one i have this beautiful blue batik in the outside i do not have this particular fabric but i do have another gorgeous boutique that i would like to share with you so let's put that one up here and i'll show you how it works okay this one is a a beautiful batik this is going to be your number one fabric your number one fabric is going to go in this section right here then you have two fabrics remaining you want to put your lightest in your number two spot so this blue is going to go right here in this blue spot and then you put this beautiful batik on your border so it really borders your other two and look how great these colors look together you've got some purples and greens and pinks and blues and it is going to be a gorgeous quilt now this one is called candy stripe and you if you purchase this kit you will get one pattern free any one of our patterns will work with any three yard cuts of fabric this one is called candy stripe and it only comes as an individual it does not come in one of our books the quilt kit number is 8021041 beach carnival and you can find that at fabriccafe.com now another thing that we have at fabriccafe.com is a button called free goodies and this is one of the things that you will see on our free goodies button this is a listing of all of our individual patterns let me put this down all of our individual patterns are listed here and then they have a either a book five which just is telling you that it's one of these books down here that this pattern is in as well as it's individual but while you're reading down through here you'll come to candy stripe with a number that's the number for candy stripe if you wanted to order it it does not say anything about a book so therefore it's not going to be in a book so this is how you read this particular thing and it is a my pattern collection sheet is for you to use as a worksheet it's free when you go to fabriccafe.com and click on the free goodies button and we have some other things in that same under that same button and i'm going to be telling you more about that as we go along okay the next one that we have will also work with candy stripe and that one is called positivity 2 has all these great positive words on it i love positive words i love fabric with words on it get your biggest print for your number one fabric and then for your number two fabric you pick your lightest of the two remaining and then your number three is your darkest so this is going to be your dark color will be out here in the border your number one fabric is going to be here your number two fabric will be here this one is called positivity number two eight zero two one zero four zero candy stripe last chance there's only one left of this particular kit okay the next kit is the next quilt is pretty please pretty please is made with a large block for your focus fabric so that would be your fabric one and then your number two fabric is your lightest fabric and it's going to border this and it really becomes kind of a backdrop for your quilt design that's going on then your number three fabric is used in these two places okay let's put that one up here and i'll show you the pretty fabric that we have picked out for that one okay this one is called flower basket and all of the quilts we're showing you today all have individual patterns available for those here's your number one fabric it's going to go in this block your number two fabric is the lightest of the two remaining it's going to go right here and then your number and in your border and you can see how great that looks together i love that just a little gingham check to go with this one this is called flower basket 8021039 pretty please is your pattern and it is not available in a book it's an individual individual pattern only now another one that would look great with that same pattern is groovin daisy focus fabric such bright cheerful fabric will go right here in your number one spot your number two is your lightest remaining that goes where the yellow is and then this great orangey rusty color is going to be your border and the center of this block now this is a last chance there are only three remaining the kit number is 8021 0 grooving daisies pretty please is your pattern it is a last chance and there's only three left now remember i said that you could get a book free if you bought three kits but none of these are in a book that's because any pattern in in any of my books will work with these same fabrics so you just buy a three kits you get a book free and then any one of eight patterns would work with the fabric okay the next one that we have is called kaleidoscope this particular one has always been so popular it's really a cool looking design and we use our a small print here in the focus fabric sometimes i switch positions of my fabric because there's three one yard cuts any position works with any fabric in that set as long as you cut everything i say to cut out of it so sometimes i'll use a big print here in in my number one position and sometimes i'll use it out on the border just to be different so i would switch my border fabrics with this so in this particular one this is your focus fabric it's your largest print and we're going to use it in the number one position which is right here now i normally say to you you'll use your darkest in the number three position and the lightest in the number two position but i'm switching it this time as long as you cut everything out of the number two position out of the one piece of fabric then it will work just fine but i want these stripes to be out in the border so i picked my focus fabric i compared these two and decided i wanted this to be the number three so we're using the purple as our number two so the focus fabrics here the purple is here and then that will allow me to put that stripe out in the border and it's going to look like this it'll be in pieces like this and it's a great way to use a stripe because it will it does it's easy to match up you don't have a problem with with uh trying to do a long strip with all the stripes going the same direction it's really cool so that is your kit 8021 z serendipity is the name of the kit the pattern is kaleidoscope it's an individual pattern that's not available in any book all right now the next one that we're going to do is called boxes and bows boxes and bows is a great one it's really nice for children i think we've done a lot of fun with this particular one but it makes boxes and then it makes bows with your half square triangles and we're going to put this one up here i'm out of this fabric but i've got a cute one here that i think you're going to like and i have pieces and parts as well so this one look at this fabric and it's a cute little ladybug fabric so our focus fabric is our largest print it's going to go in where the bears are and then see how we use the stripes here and in the border this is the i love using them in the border like this it almost makes it look like you've pieced your fabric so your number one is your ladybug goes here the number two is your lightest of the remaining i'm going to put the stripes here and then the number three is going to go here so let's look at our pieces and parts now as we've been talking about this is an individual pattern and it's going to give you all of the instructions you need for making this i'm going to slide this over here so you can see that we have assembly diagrams for you and how to make your different half square triangles so it has all the information you need in that particular pattern the first thing you're going to do is you're going to cut some boxes and we're going to put this one right here these are little blocks that we're going to use in those large areas and then rather than making our half square triangles we're just doing pieces and parts today so then you would put this here and these here so you assemble your your half square triangles first and then you would put those down after they've become blocks now we're going to slide this here we'll crop it out so you can just see the ladybugs and see what a sweet quilt this is going to be isn't that pretty and see how this by putting the colors this way it creates that bow so you have boxes and bows alrighty now let's look at the information on this one and we have love bugs 8021036 boxes and bows and it is an individual pattern only it's not available in a book but remember every book has eight patterns and every um pattern would work with three one yard cuts of fabric now we have a last chance here that's also used for boxes and bows and that one is called positivity positively many and it's she's got all these cute little sayings on here they're positive things so this would go in your box and then you would make your bows out of this is what's going to show up the most because it's the darkest so you have your half square triangles with the cute little stars and with the teal really picks up that teal in pink there's only one of these remaining so be sure to check it out and your pattern is box boxes and bows the next one is chevron it's another one of our patterns it's only available as an individual pattern it's been very very popular and it it always looks so much like so much fun in your um your design it's so much fun in bright bold prints so now let's take a look at the fabric now this fabric is very patriotic but it's going to look so cute in this pad in this particular quilt you'll have your chevron done with the red and white so you've got your focus fabric would be this and then the lightest one remaining would be your white stars and you'll make your half square triangles and arrange them accordingly this will only be used on your border and it will be a stripe that looks like this so this is a great one to come up with a patriotic quilt that has a lot of movement in it this one is 8020478 chevron blues chevron is an individual pattern not available in any of our books now the next one is christmas forest christmas forest i did just in a patriotic look because i thought it would be so cute so it was kind of a patriotic christmas i do not have any of this fabric remaining but we do have some others that would look really cute in this particular one so this one has the bright color fabrics for the red white and blue once again so your focus fabric is going to be the blue it will go in the blue trees and then your white becomes your background so it makes your trees pop and this has a pretty little white swirl on it really cute and then you've got the red and white polka dot that's going to go in the red trees this one is called christmas flurries and it's 8021034 the quilt pattern is christmas forest it is not available in any of our books now i want to just review real quick and then i'm going to tell you how you can get a free pattern without even buying a kit but first of all i'm going to remind you that we have this on our website and this lets you know whether or not it's an individual pattern the grayed out ones or individual patterns that are not in any book if it's in a book we will tell you which book it's in and
