"More powerful than the Mafia"
That's just silly. He still had to go through the Italian mob to sell his product. When he tried to circumvent them, it ultimately failed (for him). You'd have to have a really skewered definition of "power" in order to ever make that claim in the criminal world in the 20th century.
For anybody that hasn't watched this.
The entire thing is a group of five or six guys that knew Frank and every story is, "he walked in and had like three million dollars in cash... so he was rich!" Not a very good documentary IMO.
Only 20 grand? I feel like if he's got away with that much, the bounty should be higher.
Frank Matthews sleeps with the fishes.
Damn now I want to know who the "group of Jewish men" were/are that Frank was dealing with! Seems like there is always a bigger fish... Decent documentary, I wish more money was put into it though, I'm sure the director feels the same.
Interesting documentary. Thanks for posting this.
i wonder what country he had such good luck hiding in, i want to know where to hide damnit. they even got the piratebay guy in fucking cambodia or someshit and i thought that was a good spot. Frank must have REALLY went off the grid damn
I couldn't make it 30 seconds because of the poor editing.
my favorite part is when dude says "Black Guerilla Family leaned hard on folks in the 70s, and you couldnt do much without their approval." and then he looks at the camera and goes "and to tell you the truth probably aint much changed about that stilil today" and laughs :-/
NOI is some scary shit, like the dude in The Wire w/ the bow tie
