the Fox 5 surprise squad is sponsored by United the son of merica first credit union Albertsons and bonds from a very young age Lauren Ratigan always wanted to be a teacher so when she started her dream job at Marian early elementary this year this young bubbly bright-eyed Vegas born teacher was on top of the world but then tragedy struck helping to spare her students any sadness of her personal life she put a smile on her face and pushed through the pain but one special parent saw her silent struggle and did not want her first year to be ruined so she turned to the Fox hive surprise squad for help we are on our way to surprise a very special first grade teacher she has suffered a traumatic loss the arefox five surprise Squad miss rhadigan has a recent graduate of UNLV she is currently a first grade teacher at Marian Earle Elementary School in Las Vegas she also coaches the cheer team at Marian Earl miss Lauren ran again came home from teaching to discover that her home was engulfed in flames she lost almost everything she owned in this devastating fire she is currently living with a friend not only can she not supply her classroom as she would like she has to replace almost everything that she had before the fire please consider helping in any way you can so when we receive this letter we knew we had to get involved and today we are hoping to bring her a little cheer and brighten her spirits so we're on our way right let's do this she has no idea hi miss Ratigan I'm Cassandra Jones with the Fox 5 surprise squad and we are here because we wanted to bring you some beautiful flowers we wanted to brighten up your day but we are also here because you've been through a lot yes like I drove home it looked perfectly fine on the outside but when I open my garage door smoke came out I tried to go inside I had a dog his name was Cooper me yeah he was like my first kid and I miss him very much you never expect something like this to happen not how I want to start off 2019 we know that right now it's a tough time because you just had the fire so we have something for you $2,500 you don't have to worry about taking care of your students they're gonna be taken care of you are loved and you are appreciated by your students by your parents and also by the Fox 5 surprise squad thank you but I also know so you're a cheer coach we wanted to bring you a little spirit of our own so we had to call in our we wanted to let you know that on behalf of the Fox 5 surprise wad you're gonna be getting tickets for the next building night someday you'll get to be the March marshal she'll be marching all right guys great job miss Radigan was so surprised and if she loved that just wait until game night [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] oh you again I'm Cassandra Jones at the Fox 5 surprise swad and I am here tonight because I want to introduce you to somebody very special in January she came home to find her home engulfed in flames she lost everything including her dog Cooper she didn't know we were gonna be here tonight because the Fox 5 surprise squad we knew our job wasn't done and we have one more surprise [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I don't think I've ever had that amount of money in my life having them jet his name was sweet you know I'm not alone in this all they all understand this really showed you know if you put the good energy out there a good partner comes back to you I wrote that letter pretty much on a whim just desperate to get her anything so I'm so grateful and so thankful for fox5 and for Miss Hannigan [Applause] awesome to hear the night's fans getting involved to talk about giving up great energy ah it gets me every time yeah and we're live on our Fox 5 Facebook page right now as well and we're hearing from everyone crying seeing the surprise oh so sweet and so nice to see good things come her way and sending her love losing losing a pet - especially on the right lane that's hard and of course we want to give a special thank you to our surprise squad partners and our biggest Golden Knights for giving MS rhadigan what she called the best night of her life
